The fact is I'm no stranger to this community at all and most of my discourse stems from the experiences that I had on this board close to 5 years ago. When I saw what StillMe had posted it just make me feel like nothing had changed. I haven't been reading anything on this forum for several months. I'm going to take the L on this and say that I'm a complete asshole and try to wash my hands of this. If I am a man of my word in anyway shape or form that is the least I can do. I'm sorry to whoever reads this thinking I was referring to anything currently going on in these boards now days because the fact is, I don't shit. I am less than perfect when it comes to posting things because I'm usually in a rush to get everything down before the next person comments. I think this forum only allows a certain amount of edits to the post and that's on me for that. You're probably right about it not being rage induced. I believe that you would know that person better than I do. Nevertheless the vibes I got from the statement made me think a certain way and reminded me of bad experiences from people that actually are narcissists. I am not addressing one user and to say anything was slapped around is presuming way too much about a total stranger, but its good you noticed I'm painting with broad stokes because basically its a problem on a much larger scale than one involved with this community. It's blind acceptance to toxic attitudes in general. I feel instead of certain people holding themselves accountable they would rather make a generalized statement about everybody being a piece of shit instead of actually doing something about it. I know what you're talking about and what that person said certainly influenced me to write what I did but what I'm referring to is a common problem. No rage is involved I'm just calling it for what it is and why it's a problem. Sorry if you didn't understand that.

I might be posting in the wrong folder, so please forgive me if this seems out of line for this particular part of the forum. Although narcissism can be amusing at times, if gone unchecked, there is no denying it's adverse affects in daily life both on and off the internet. IMO it is a comedic cow teat to draw from that is bound to shrivel up into nothing over a period of time, because the punchline is always the same (look at how much of a nasty person I am, isn't that over-the-top? Elohel). Once it turns to sand, the effects of denial will show it's corrosiveness on relationships (be it friends or otherwise) due to a lack of personal accountability. I've seen it manifest into a hostile mob mentality towards others with a different mind-set, and worse, those who go on killing sprees because they feel so singled out and alone because of the bullying caused by people they thought they could trust. I personally have never experienced the latter but does that really matter if you know it's coming from a similar place? I don't know about you but I join communities of fellow nerds on the internet to feel good about myself, not to deal with the hypocrisy of those who think they have to be bullies in order to feel secure about themselves. I'm expecting a hostile mob mentality from this post, but its purely inconsequential. No inflammatory for-the-sake-of-it cynicism is going to prove that I'm going to suffer for what I say from the heart. I don't care how hard to have to lean on your denial to convince yourself otherwise. No blind rhetoric is my puppet master, and everyone with a conscious is entitled to feel the same way. I say all of this because have a lot of fond memories of [as] and it's sad to see that the fans associated with something so positive in my late teens early adulthood fester in negativity in order to belong somewhere like so many other dumpster fire forums on the internet. You don't have to do anything you don't want to do in order to belong. Everyone's mind is their own and you're not hopeless to your own folly if you practice self-awareness and know the downfalls of being a POS. The only way the world can save itself from the brink of discussion is to replace narcissism and needless competition with logic and deductive reasoning. Not everything has to be a pissing contest. Also broken ideals cannot fix a broken system, and no one needs to accept hypocrisy in any facet of life. Self awareness is the key.

Eh, not much. Just pondering about things like drive and determination to succeed. Comparing myself to others can have it's drawbacks but I know that it's also important to have a model for success. I believe that it doesn't necessarily mean you have to change your personality into something that doesn't feel natural so it drives me crazy to see so many people thinking they have to be fake and manipulative to turn things in their favor. I can be optimistic in the fact that I haven't given up on myself so it must mean there's at least a few thousand more people that feel the same way I do.
