  1. Was it in the anime? I dropped the show toward the end of Aincrad since it was too boring to laugh at most the time. I asked a friend about how they survived for years and he'd said said the LN explained it (poorly), but the anime didn't. Then again, that friends isn't the sharpest knife in the power outlet. Wouldn't be shocking if he got it wrong. ?
  2. Accordingly that's because the company somehow managed to hide that all the way through developmemt and release. But despite the fact it's not public knowledge, the families of anyone stuck in the game all determined the best course of action was to hospitalize. Without removing the headgear. The headgear they didn't know was dangerous. That's how they don't die after years of imprisonment. I mean, the hospitalization is absent from the anime, but the alternative we're presented with makes less sense. Apparently comas make life sustainable for multiple years without food or water. This show is stupid.
  3. Yeah, Kai is pretty much without a doubt being used. Last episode made me waver on the therapist thing, but fairly certain now that there's a tie of the sort.
  4. Get your fat ass on a plane to London, bitch boy.
  5. The fact they brought it back at all is funnier than the joke in the show. That's all I have to say about it. Otherwise, idgaf.
  6. Chekhov's gun.
  7. "Wouldn't it be better to say, 'Heil Satan' in English, so people understand?" "Heil Satan" in English. -_'
  8. Screaming is the PUUUNCHLIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIINE!
  9. Before or..... uh, after..... cau stuffed it up his urethra?
  10. Not that they have to act rationally so much as there has to be some logic to irrationality and unless it's a secluded setting with a small cast to play off, the irrationality shouldn't be the accepted worldview - with some exceptions that SAO doesn't really match. Like a fantasy or sci-fi setting may get away with wonky world logic if it matches the greater fictionalized society. But SAO takes place in a not-so-distant future of our world. The future setting is only there to give VR a larger place than we currently have, it's not really implied to be much different than our own. Yet the beta tester=bad line of thought appears to be accepted as reasonable. Methinks nobody questions it not because the characters are intended to be irrational. Rather, nobody questions it because the author thought it was rational.
  11. Well duh, Buddy. Smoke doesn't have a smell. How do you expect that to cover the scent of bullshit?
  12. Meh.
  13. So, not sure I'm feeling the therapist theory any more. I'm willing to bet he, as well as the cop, are a part of it, but Kai appears to be the organizer as of episode 4. There's still the possibility of him being a figurehead or being manipulated by one of them for recruitment, I suppose. They seemed to be suggesting that the cult itself was expressly Kai's idea at very least.
  14. It's gonna be okay....... For the cops..... When they come to tale you away. :it:
  15. Happy shut up day scoob!
  16. Making a whole storyline about a Stein vote is pretty stupid, though. Had people not voted for Stein, it's not like all those votes automatically would've gone straight to Clinton. Trump won over an abnormal number of Dems who disliked Clinton [or disliked her more than him, at least], too, so with how absurd the last election was treating Ally like it's her and Stein's fault for Clinton's loss is pretty shitty. Like, it seems as if that's a point the writers are actively trying to make, and it's a point you'd get by watching too much MSNBC.
  17. "You're a part of something bigly." This show is stupid. -_'
  18. I'm a birdemic. Feel the shock and/or terror.
  19. And the first season wasn't very good.
  20. Most best friends I've lost were just losing contact. One decided she hated me but after several years of trying to figure out what I even did, I still don't know. So, only one cut ties, and it was more her end than mine. But I did get to tell her to fuck off for toying with me over the last several months of dealing with her. It was at a point where the bridge was already burnt, though.
  21. Pretty sure I'll forget pretty much all these episodes in a month or so. Aside from Pickle Rick. Pickle Rick was an embarrassment.
  22. To be fair, putting even a little thought into the drama could improve it greatly. America has a tendency of focusing on "big" drama, which is one thing the original put too little focus on. The whole concept is about escaping from a MMO that will actually kill the player, but it doesn't do much with the idea in favor of petty, often completely idiotic squabbles. Like nobody wanting beta testers because they'll get the best items.... you know, in a game that can actually kill them, they want to not give the best items to the most instrumental people to their survival..... -_' but that's where the drama goes. It'd be fine focusing on smaller relationship drama, in fact I'd prefer it, if it weren't so unbearably stupid. If an American version cuts that kind of bullshit and focuses on character development [as opposed to all character progression occuring in between episodes] or even just ignores the idiotic conflicts in favor of big dumb 'splosions, it'd actually be less insufferable/boring. It's not difficult to improve on something like SAO. Will they? Probably not. But it wouldn't be difficult.
