Nah, I'm still learning the coding part and don't have any kind of crew. It's not something I can really explain as far as the lady friend and seriousness goes, I don't think that I could understand it without going through whatever this shit is. Realistically, I shouldn't put much into the possibility of even seeing her again, but then a huge chunk of my ideas crumble if I don't. It's only recently that I've had the physical capacity to potentially handle projects seriously. The problem comes from her amd I having discussed making something together for quite a while and didn't have the time/energy. We had been talking about a premise that would hinge on both of us writing separate halves, and even then, I'd need her input to make my end align with hers. It's just in flux since, from any logical standpoint, I've been ghosted. But I'm pretty sure there are illogical emotions for both of us in the mix and all I can hope for is that she does really value me as much as she's expressed. I know I should at this point resign to being alone and working on it by myself, but a lot of it was for her and demands her to be there, so I don't actually know what I actually want if I don't still have her as a part of my life. I guess I put my eggs in one basket, and as usual it's not as unlikely that I've been ditched as I want to believe. I knew her for 8 years, it would be 10 if she ever comes back. This is the primary type of thing I'm interested in. It doesn't seem especially easy, it's just a method that de-emphasizes the processes I'm not as interested in and lets me use footage I might actually be able to produce with poor eyesight and a bad back since it mostly needs a green screen and some knowledge of filmmaking, which I have a bit of. They used existing animation to teach the machine to animate over live action. It's not using the original animation. It's just converting entirely original footage into an animated format with the influence from a specific source that they publicly credit. Most of the work is done by humans, though. Just not the animation itself.

I really just want a reliable way to rotoscope on an inexpensive set and without needing to focus on the animation technique itself. It's just not the part of the process I'm very interested in, but if I don't do it myself, it won't happen. I'm not particularly passionate about the process of drawing or animating, and don't have the resources to find an artist. It's a medium to tell my own stories without requiring massive budgets or big production teams made up of people I probably don’t know, and therefore definitely don't trust. I'm wanting AI to give people the tools to eliminate the need for big budget productions. Like, I want it to end Disney by giving creators the ability to make better films than the incompetent jerkoffs Disney pays to shit out movies that may somehow be made worse by the human proofreaders of their ChatGPT scripts. If anything stops me from doing it, it's that I need the currently MIA soulmate. I think she's the only person who could help me pull it together. Right now, losing her is like losing passion. She covers my shortcomings, and I don’t think I can take anything to completion without her half.

Who are the ones we have so far? I don't recognize the names of most of the picks I've seen, obviously not thrilled about the ones I do but the couple I've looked into weren't (don't remember who, not names I knew). I'm also not very well versed in many names associated with it beyond gesturing vaguely at the Heritage Foundation, given I know more about the organization than individuals in it.

That's why I point to the Rock Paper Scissors anime thing. They used an existing IP, Vampire Hunter D, as the basis for what it converted the live action into, but it's an entirely original work to the point of Vampire Hunter D arguably being so far removed I barely consider it worth mentioning as a citation beyond describing the process used. It's a good practice to provide that, but calling it theft if they hadn't would be taking the claim too far based on the degree to which it is original. Of course, Packard's understanding of it is pretty inadequate. I just don't think the theft/plagiarism point works well when talking about random imternet chuds posting AI slop. I'm by no means calling Packard's posts good. I don't consider it any more or less unethical to share for fun than memes. He isn't making money off it, so it's pretty whatever to me. The conversation matters far more to me when money is involved.

Okay. And you still can't read a screenname.

Yeah, because you were talking to the wrong person again.

There's a style commonly associated with anime, though. Are you going to pretend Avatar the Last Airbender and Teen Titans, which are openly anime-inspired, have no stylistic imitation? Are you going to claim any show that has the Family Guy or Steven Universe art styles aren't art, despite the fact adult western cartoons often look just like Family Guy and "Cal-Arts" is literally used derisively in animation circles for their style taking over western cartoons? Whether the imitations are of high or low quality does not change if they are art.
