  1. Yes, I know. I'm talking about what gets attributed as horseshoe theory but is not.
  2. My point was that it's easier to pull someone from the far left into the far right because it's easier to make left ideals palettable on a surface level. By no means does that infer the act of being strung along by pseudo-leftists into believing things antithetical to leftism as a thing that's not real. I'm saying it isn't too far left that causes people to fall into conservatism. I'm saying right wingers injecting themselves into leftist circles and spreading misinformation is a real thing that does lead into people falling into right wing views under a left wing guise.
  3. Seriously? I made an entire point and you sucked all nuance out of it. I wasn't even implying horseshoe theory is just about people who criticize Democrats. That's ridiculous. If you agree with me on something, can you please refrain from omitting important information (like most of the post) and misrepresenting what I said?
  4. Why did you respond to breaking windows and "disrupting proceedings" but not attempting to assassinate opposition and trying to hang the vice president? Can you confidently maintain this answer if you bring those back in?
  5. I don't think horseshoe theory is real. How often do you see someone become so right-wing they end up a leftist? Horseshoe theory would, by mere principle, need to have the reverse. We don't get that. It's easier to latch onto basic leftist ideas because they are objectively better both in results and on the face of it. Conservatism festers hostility and preys on vulnerablity to do it. That's what draws people to the right off of faux-left propagandists but not the reverse. The left is simply a less abusive society, and that inherently means it's more passive. It's much harder to pull someone left from the far right than the reverse since the conservative ideology is in and of itself deeply exploitative.
  6. This is a lot of playing defense for Russia. To the point of being unwilling to so much as acknowledge that a genocide was the intent, failure or not. If I point a gun at someone, fire, and miss, it's still the crime of attempted murder. If Russia attempts a genocide and fails, the fact they tried a genocide still stands (this was the point I was making). This wasn't the worst of it, which was moved to other threads. You were quite literally doing the right's "ORANGE MAN BAD!!!!" meme for Putin.
  7. Anyone know how much say a chairperson has? Honestly, the guy's statement doesn't feel concrete enough for me, either way. Like why bring up the DoJ's response at all if a referral is out of the question?
  8. @Ginguy Time to hang up the towel, even the alter-ego has turned on you.
  9. Thank god they'll have more people to stand around and do nothing. That's a relief.
  10. The thing is that we're all stuck in a shit place with our government. Of course, I want a third party that's more left than the Democratic Party, but it needs the groundwork to be viable. The undemocratic shenanigans of Dems crushing progressives is by no means a good situation. However, we are seeing upticks in progressive primary wins across the country, despite the efforts to stomp them out. That's not something I've seen from a third party this lifetime. Where people are defensive toward Democrats isn't a matter of supporting them so much as we don't have another option. There is SOME groundwork on Democrats, per the aforementioned primary successes, and that's only in its infancy. Third parties simply haven't gotten that far. What's concerning to the point that I feel morally inclined to cape for them is that if Republicans get control again, they'll continue a decades long fight to strip any freedoms we have with increasing extremism. Not just the politicians making shitty policies or being mindbogglingly unwilling to block the bills, but legit death cult fascism. We had a coup attempt. It failed, it was led by one of the dumbest motherfuckers I've ever had the displeasure of looking at, and he radicalized people. Nobody is enthused about relying on a pathetic farce of a political party. I just don't feel like I have an option. Republicans are beyond dangerous. They're openly authoritarian and are becoming more deranged by the week. 44% of these shitbrained monsters think we should simply accept that school shootings are a normal thing, as opposed to the general base of Democrats and Independents who polled 70%+ each that we could prevent them if politicians did something. I expect both Ds and Rs to bomb babies in the middle east 'cause scary foreigners. I don't expect Ds to propose effectively legal pedophilia 'cause "mental maturity" makes child marriage acceptable or something, but with Rs we not only expect it, we literally had an attempt at just that not long ago. Democrats are not popular for goid reason. They are not the ones forcing teachers to out gay kids or be unable to express an opinion like "the holocaust was bad" around students, whilst cramming pro-slavery PragerU into kindergarten. I'm afraid Democrats will continue to sellout on climate change or brown-nose Republicans out of a desperate need to get stepped on. I'm afraid Republicans will become so brainwashed that the majority of the people I care about simply won't be safe, a lot of them already aren't. Biden didn't do that, no matter how much of a sack of shit he may be. To be clear, I'm not really trying to argue with you. Broadly speaking, we probably agree on most things.
  11. Under the smug superiority lies a petulant child that can't just eat his own cake because it's unfair if you eat your own cake since he wanted it. All your cake is belong to Ginguy. Resistance is strongly discouraged. Saying futile would be impolite, so we elected, by the most democratic vote in history of votes, rule by 1 out of 1 Ginguys to leave it unsaid.
  12. I love how the president doesn't impact these things until your party loses.
  13. Everything's gonna be okay. Time for naptime.
  14. When every post is about how justified Russia is, it shouldn't come as a surprise that people question your motives.
  15. What's your stance? Should Russia have invaded or not?
  16. So.... war good when Russia do it because Russia not 'Murica?
  17. https://www.latimes.com/politics/story/2022-06-08/supreme-court-shields-border-agents-from-suits-for-excessive-force-or-unreasonable-searches Conservatives: THE RADICAL LEFT IS TRYING TO DESTROY OUR FREEDOMS!!!! Conservative Supreme Court: [casually makes excessive force and unreasonable search an seizure from Federal agents effectively legal]
  18. It was the DEMOCRATS!
  19. "No big deal to lie to the FBI, eh?" "Exactly." 😆
