  1. Do you have a source for that? I tried searching because I wanted to read about what happened but I can't find anything.
  2. Oh god, I did the one chip challenge last year and it was brutal. I managed to survive the chip itself, I didn't even drink anything for over an hour, but then the gastrointestinal stuff started. And then I realized not only do you get spicy poos, you also get spicy pee. Never again...
  3. That would get you the exact opposite of what you were hoping for. I spent nearly 10 years in libraries and finally left the field entirely when I realized most people are fucking insane now. I should write a book, there's so much material there.
  4. These "influencer" wannabes who take their 15 dogs out without leashes to "train them" (for likes/attention) shouldn't be allowed to have so much as a pet rock. Most of the trails near my house don't even allow dogs anymore because people let them run wild and shit everywhere. Which you damn well know a loser like an aspiring influencer would do. It suddenly hit me today that we've gone from mommy blogs to doggy blogs and both groups are assholes for more reasons than I care to list right now. Will we ever get past the age of "I have no life, career, or point so I'm on Instagram all day"?
  5. I'm still pissed that you have to pay to get your college records, too. Like...haven't I paid you enough already? Press print, pop it in the mail, get over it.
  6. I need to find friends who don't low-key think they're better than me. I don't know how else to interpret someone telling me that they'd have "found a way around" the things I've been struggling with, like I'm just too pathetic to get over trauma. Where are all of my fellow broken people?
  7. I really don't know why this suddenly showed up in my head.
  8. I thought it was a Millennial thing, we're drunks : https://www.statista.com/chart/30783/alcohol-consumption-by-generation/
  9. I'm not a fan of urgent cares. I didn't know anything about them until my first visit to one in 2014 and I've avoided them like the plague ever since. It was so bad that when they called an ambulance to take me to the hospital, the paramedics whispered to me, "Don't come here, they don't know what they're doing". lol Then last year a nurse friend, and his doctor wife, told me the same thing - avoid urgent cares if you can. Obviously that's not always an option but I try my damndest to stay out of them now. That said, congrats on your diet changes, I understand how even the smallest things can drastically improve how you feel.
  10. Worse than what my parents were listening to was the music played on the bus ride home. The only station the driver ever played was 100% country, which I had never been a fan of but by the end of my elementary years I couldn't stand it. That's all I'd hear the 25 minutes to school and the 60 minutes back. I now have an almost visceral reaction to it.
  11. @Sieg67 how would you suggest someone go about reading House of Leaves? I have a copy but I haven't started it yet.
  12. Agreed. There's an election this year, you know shit is gonna hit the fan.
  13. I'm trying to remove things from my life that cause more harm than good. I've already removed toxic people so that's helped. And now I'm wiping my reddit account with gibberish before blocking it altogether. I need to spend more time on my mental health, physical health, and hobbies. I already feel better and the script isn't even done running lol. If I want to communicate online, I'm going to be a lot stricter about what I view, where I go, and who I communicate with.
  14. I just bought Voltaire the Vegan Vampire. There was a bit of a learning curve and they need to do some fine-tuning since it's in Early Access but I love it so far:
  15. I don't think I'd had it before either but it tastes great. I used this recipe, it was pretty easy to make: https://www.delish.com/cooking/recipe-ideas/a38916154/mulligatawny-soup-recipe/ Although I left out the celery, I dislike celery in just about anything. Lol
  16. I'm not, I just love the food. 😅
  17. I made Mulligatawny Soup, which came out really well. I was going to make Butter Chicken but I think I somehow dropped my tube of tomato paste between the counter and the fridge where I can't reach it. I'll have to finish the Butter Chicken tomorrow.... I also made naan, but I haven't tried it yet. I'm wiped. To finish, I'll be making mango habanero wings for my husband when his D&D session is done at 10:30.
  18. Wow, that sounds amazing! I had wanted to try something like that, finding something I was passionate about that I could turn into an income stream, but I dunno, I guess I got buried under other stuff. You're so supportive, when I see a notification come in from you I already know you're going to give positive advice and I want to thank you for that.
  19. I was a librarian up until last year. I worked so hard to get into the field only to find that new entries are being paid less and worked more, management isn't being monitored so they do whatever they want, bullying is rampant, and even though women make up the majority of the workforce, men still hold a larger proportion of authority roles. So I just fucking quit. Now I don't know what to do with my life but I feel immense stress about not paying off loans fast enough that I might still be able to start a family if I want to. I'm too young for a midlife crisis but here we are.
  20. Aww thank you, that is very kind of you to say. I'll keep giving it my best, it's all you can do right?
  21. That and honestly a bit of a fuckup these days. Lol
  22. I'm simultaneously trying to make plans to get my life back on track while worrying about going even further off track because that's my m.o.
  23. Still repeating this one...
  24. We've been working with one of our clients for over a year. They keep changing their mind about what they want so we never get to wrap anything up. One of them is so fucking arrogant that he feels he needs to research things for us, stupid things like CSS. He assumes everyone is dumb and is so offensive in the process. I wish he'd just focus on his own shit, make a decision, and stick with it. Like dude...worry about your own job, the two page emails don't help if you change your mind a week later. And I'm so tired of repeating myself, I've had to answer the same question 3 times in a week. I know I shouldn't let it get to me but my last job was the same way. It was always older guys coming up to me asking if I needed help with X technology, saying stupid things like, "I know at home my tv works like so and so" and I'd be like "This is a $20,000 entertainment system, I don't think your Toshiba is the same". I even had one guy try to interrupt my tech class, that he joined as a student, to tell me that his iPhone works X way so shouldn't an Android be the same? No, you fucking donut, it doesn't work that way...
  25. @suziefish_ confused?
