I can relate, I started up college right around the time they moved the board away from Lithium, got so busy lost track of everything, came back once posted a time or two on the new forum, and then found out like 2 months after it had basically been shut down. Still regret not archiving stuff.

2005 to 2007 from my understanding was an utter mess, I came around the folder in 2008 and the place had really mellowed out a lot, me, crushrose, Doxiedachsie basically just chilled in that board all day and had a good time. Honestly, I'm glad I missed the chaos, since I'm a fan of the series too and from everything I saw reading through the old posts on that board (at the time), it was a mess of flamewars, I got to meet good people there too, but sadly, I lost contact with them all. But yeah, sucks that the bulk of the fandom give the rest a bad name. I get it though.

As the saying goes, if you don't have enough time for the important stuff, you're probably wasting your time on the stuff that isn't.

Once I basically reached Owl I stopped posting on that account (since I always felt like Owl was sort of the 'peak' rank) and started using my alts to post more, I had this idea that I wanted to make an alt for each of the ranks under Owl, but that never panned out, I believe someone did it at some point though.

Awesome, I'm happy we had meticulous record keepers on the old site, and what was convenient at the time, became resources to rebuild.

It's been years since I've actively followed the guy, but as memory serves he's always been like that. He gets riled up very easily anytime his ego is challenged. Which I mean hey, it's cool to have an ego, especially if you use it for productive things, it's just social media just seems to bring that side out of people, that side that has to challenge anything that challenges them, some people never learn that not all battles are worth fighting, and Demarco falls into that quite a bit (and frankly so do a lot of people in the business he works in today). TV/movie, producers, directors, figureheads etc. all seem to take it personally with fans and even detractors of their platform of work, that don't like something, question, or just flat out criticize.

I don't by stuff like I used to, I pretty content with everything I have, but what I did spend, I spent basically on figures and trading cards (got a good 10k of those by this point). I fell out of both about 2 years. Although I still have a Yoko and Motoko figure on my radar in the future. Need a proper new shelf for this stuff, right now sadly it's collecting dust in the spare room. And no it's not normally organized like that, had to put everything like that to get a few good pictures.

Since I just watched a trilogy I'll rank all of them, found myself re-watching Indiana Jones, been years since I last watched it, been meaning too but always put it off for various reasons. The Last Crusade: 9 - Raiders of the Lost Ark 9/10 - Temple of Doom 8/10 - Now I said trilogy, since these were the ones I managed to watch today, I'll be watching Kingdom of the Crystal Skull at some point in the future, that one I have a better memory on than the others, and I remember not really enjoying it, so we'll see if a watch today will change that opinion.

GAD, OA, Death Note, Geass, Inuyasha, Bebop, Batman when that came around, I posted in IB quite a bit, hung around in Support quite a bit.

According to the last cap I could find on WaybackMachine. 41,182 I however had a bunch of alts all with about 1k, so it could be anywhere up to 50k.

I got a couple of joke bans from Odin and Humbug during April Fool's shenanigans, honestly wish I still had the screencaps for a lot of stuff.

I knew I was old the moment I refused to migrate to anything else, and thought to myself "Yeah, I prefer message boards." And I was in my mid-20's at the time.

There's just so much, the people especially, doxiedaschie, chatmanmatt, crushrose, cidz, OMNI, CAC, amongst more that sadly escape me at the moment. Each left a lasting impact on me during a time, where I was merging from being a teen and working my way into my college years. The mods, Odin, Muse, Luuv especially come to mind, I got to work around CJ which was pretty cool during a time when I was looking to get into graphic design (my current job). I remember Torrent, I remember Humbug who I had a good relationship with, and really allowed me to get creative with a bunch of contests that I got to run around the numerous boards at the time. ASMB really allowed me to be creative, and I think it did for a lot of us, I remember the crazy shit that happened around those days. The List? Anyone remember that one? The board hacking that was just plain chaos, numerous April Fool pranks, AD doing the Year Books, or how we would keep track of the most minute stuff, like how many minutes we were logged into the site, or the Owl list (which I made it onto (unofficially), because I was a HELPeR at the time) and it's funny because if not for that, I probably wouldn't have been able to do what I do today. It definitely reminded me a simpler time, chilling around IB, or just talking with people about anime, it was when I found more time for myself, before college just completely swamped my life. Then I remember coming back and seeing the board not like it used to be, and then... next thing I know it's gone. It sucks, there's a lot of history there, lot of lost chats, cool stuff we did, lot of memories, lot of nostalgia. I still from time to time find myself thinking back to that stuff and just missing the shit out of it.

Man... It's crazy to me, that after all these years, just randomly finding a link on another message board led me back here, only to find out that Luuv isn't here anymore. Luuv was good people, I got to work with him as a HELPeR on the old message board and he was always one of the easiest mods to get along with. Sucks how time works with you sometimes, but more often works against you.
