  2. That's some good schadenfreude. You really should stop and take it in.
  3. Gov. Newsom has chosen Laphonza Butler, the president of EMILY'S List, to be the next senator from California. https://www.politico.com/news/2023/10/01/newsom-senate-pick-butler-00119360
  4. The Democrats will have to save McCarthy. For a price.
  5. The Congressman who pulled the fire alarm may be completely innocent.
  6. Senate passing this bill now.
  7. This sounds similar to previous instances. Take this article from April 2022 as an example Russia investigates report of British SAS forces in Ukraine Russian media report alleges that the SAS has deployed to the Lviv region in western Ukraine. https://www.aljazeera.com/news/2022/4/23/russia-investigates-report-of-british-sas-forces-in-ukraine Or this article from a year later in April 2023. Leaked Pentagon documents claim elite British special forces are in Ukraine A total of 50 members of British special forces were deployed to war-hit nation as of 23 March, according to new leaked document https://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/europe/uk-special-forces-ukraine-pentagon-leak-b2318290.html
  8. Sometimes the intrusive thoughts (do this thing you know you shouldn't) win.
  9. I remember the last government shutdown back in December 2018-January 2019. It wasn't fun. I'm glad that's not happening again. For now.
  10. It looks like a shutdown is going to be avoided with less than twelve hours before it happens. I'm happy to be wrong about this. I thought it was going to happen for sure because I didn't see McCarthy going against the right-wing Gaetz Republicans. McCarthy may pay a price for that. The Gaetz gang may try to remove him as Speaker now. Look at all the Republican no votes on keeping the government open, a bill McCarthy supports.
  11. A funny thing about this: at the beginning of today, the Republicans were saying a resolution like this would not happen, be impossible in fact. And then in the course of a morning changed to the opposite position. Either that was planned all along or they have no idea what there are doing.
  12. *Eye rolls* Not that I have a sense of affinity for Feinstein but rather I have a hatred of the overabundance of opinions online. I've really lost patience for it in recent years. This person probably thinks she's saying something really important too. I'm waiting for the right time to totally cut social media off because of its frivolousness. This message board will be an exception though. I kind of don't hate what you guys say.
  13. Man tied to suspected shooter in Tupac Shakur’s 1996 killing arrested in Las Vegas, AP sources say LAS VEGAS (AP) — Las Vegas police have arrested a man in the deadly 1996 drive-by shooting of Tupac Shakur, a long-awaited break in a case that has frustrated investigators and fascinated the public ever since the hip-hop icon was gunned down on the Las Vegas Strip 27 years ago. Duane “Keffe D” Davis was arrested early Friday morning, although the exact charge or charges were not immediately clear, according to two officials with first-hand knowledge of the arrest. They were not authorized to speak publicly ahead of an expected indictment later Friday. Davis has long been known to investigators and has himself admitted in interviews and in his 2019 tell-all memoir, “Compton Street Legend,” that he was in the Cadillac where the gunfire erupted during the September 1996 drive-by shooting. Shakur was 25 when he was gunned down. https://apnews.com/article/tupac-shakur-killing-duane-keefe-davis-vegas-3f7050c2a68813d86a96b96fbb3f1d1a

  17. But then there's this... If we play this right, we could get some good out of it.
  18. Unfortunately, the Ukraine War is at a stalemate. These are the changes on the battlefield since the beginning of 2023.
  19. Let's check in to see how this is going. Turley is the House GOP's star witness. He's a tenured law professor who does a lot of news media appearances and he's favored among conservatives and Republicans. This is what the House is doing days before a possible government shutdown.
