Just want to say that one of the best things about the David Production anime is that Parts 1 and 2 are animated in a ridiculously high pedigree. If you ever read the manga, the style is a lot more 80s Hokuto no Ken. Araki's work was good, but David Prod used it as a template to take the series to a whole other level. They could have kept the style all the same, but they not only brought the animation 30 years into the future, but also kept the unique style that makes it JoJo. You really appreciate that polish. Anyway, the journey has begun! Time to meet more pillar men!

It's been a few weeks since I last checked in so haven't had the chance to throw in my thoughts on Battle Tendency thus far. Generally, it's just way better. There's a lot more globetrotting (NYC + Mexico in only a few episodes so far), the stakes are getting raised significantly (ancient intelligent superman), and JoJo is actually likeable. Also how about that music? It's a lot more on the electronic side than Phantom Blood's and quite a bit more dynamic. As someone who is currently reading the 8th JoJo series, I still say that Joseph Joestar is the best JoJo in the series. His personality is the most interesting of any JoJo in the series. Without going too much into spoiler territory, every JoJo is very clever and able to outsmart their opponent in a bind. While Joseph is not the strongest JoJo, he is by far the smartest. The tricks he pulls in this series are the most brilliant of the series. Plus, he's not afraid of playing a little dirty to win. I think the what's been shown so far shows off that much. Battle Tendency is where the series starts to shine, people. I hope you enjoy!! Also, Santana. ;)

How have the ratings been since Toonami got revived? I know they brought in a lot of hot series in the last few years and I imagine they've been doing fairly well. Is that not the case?

Hey, guys! I started a spoiler-discussion on the old boards before they finally died so I figured I'd open up a new one. I am creating this thread for the discussion of JoJo's Bizarre Adventure from Phantom Blood to JoJoLion. This will, of course, have spoilers so in case you are a user only up-to-date with the AS run, you have been warned!! ;D

Whitewashing is a concern, of course. She's kinda supposed to be Asian... Otherwise, I actually liked a lot of the trailer. Plus I really enjoyed the Kuze storyline from 2nd GiG. They definitely won't have time to do Individual Eleven and Gouda though, sooooo... We'll see.

Very much agreed. Once you acknowledge satire and parody as two different entities, then you can start separating series that fall into either category. For example, Panty and Stocking is a satire (deconstruction/subversion) of Mahou Shoujo. It also had a few individual episodes that were parodies of Transformers, Saving Private Ryan, and zombie movies, but that didn't mean the whole thing was a parody. The whole is a satire with parodies peppered in.

JBA: Diamond is Unbreakable Episodes 20-25 Which included the anime debut of my favorite JoJo villain AND stand! It was a good week.

Having fun watching the Part 1 dub, though Jonathan, who is my least favorite JoJo, irritated me a bit. Way too goody two-shoes for my taste. OP and ED are still the best parts of Phantom Blood. ;D
