So, Va race. Three scenarios are possible: A. McAuliffe wins outright on election night. B. Youngkin wins outright on election night. C. Youngkin has more votes on election night but ultimately loses. Of the three, I'd suspect C at this point. It will probably play out as follows; Youngkin and the GOP win on election night. The State House goes GOP by a slim margin, 3-5 seats, and Youngkin is the apparent winner by election night vote totals. The media will not call the race, instead pointing out that there are still five (I believe) business days for ballots postmarked by election day to arrive and be counted. Loudoun County, Fairfax County, Arlington County and Richmond Co. will all report preliminary results, and then the number of ballots needed for McAuliffe to eek out a bare victory will slowly trickle in to those counties.

An indictment?

Pooh: States and localities can't print money the way the Feds can and are no better at balancing budgets. Thus, you pay taxes. MD : I suspect about 6000 - 8,500 ballots worth of fortification in the Virginia race. McAuliffe should have been toast with his "parents shouldn't be involved in their children's education" bit. What is worth watching, in my view, is how effective the approach Youngkin has taken is. Will traditional grassroots campaigning actually flip a race against money and surrogates with national recognition?

https://www.npr.org/2021/10/13/1045696978/judge-holds-washington-d-c-jail-officials-in-contempt-in-a-jan-6-riot-case "In a case involving a Jan. 6 Capitol riot defendant, a federal judge held the District of Columbia's corrections director and jail warden in contempt of court Wednesday and asked the Justice Department to investigate whether inmates' civil rights are being abused. U.S. District Judge Royce Lamberth had summoned the jail officials as part of the criminal case into Christopher Worrell, a member of the Proud Boys who has been charged in the Jan. 6 attack on the Capitol. He has been accused of attacking police officers with a pepper spray gel and prosecutors have alleged he traveled to Washington and coordinated with Proud Boys leading up to the siege. "It's clear to me the civil rights of the defendant were violated by the D.C. Department of Corrections," Lamberth said. "I don't know if it's because he's a January 6 defendant or not." The judge ordered Quincy Booth, the director of the city's Department of Corrections, and Wanda Patten, the warden of the DC Jail, to be held in contempt of court. While he did not impose any sanctions or penalties the judge said he was referring the matter to the Justice Department to investigate whether the civil rights of the inmates in the jail are being violated. " Not that the DoJ will do anything, but the good news is that the statute of limitations on civil rights abuses is rather lengthy.

Toonami's certain yet somehow also uncertain future

About Demon Slayer, isn't there a six episode television version of the movie? If so, it would provide the cushion for dubbing the new season. Otherwise I'd expect Blade Runner, Ass Class 2, and half an hour of anime themed cosplay tik tok vids....- 47 replies

Scores are updated and picks are up Be aware that America's donger has sent two teams overseas to compete and embarrass us as a nation again. 9:30 AM start time for the Dolphins v Jaguars game. Scoring note: Starpanda posted his picks at 9:45 am, and thus did not beat the time for the 9:30 am Jets v Falcons game. Sorry Star, can't count that pick. -
