  1. Shouldn't it have started already? Oh right, Sand Whale bumps everything forward ridiculously!
  2. Hate to burst your bubble, but that was six weeks ago!! Time for some mojo with Jojo at the...arena!
  3. Now streaming for the next 37 hours or so, the lineup from 2/25/17: 1. Dragonball Super #8 - Goku Makes an Entrance! A Last Chance from Lord Beerus!? - TV-PGV 2. Dragonball Z Kai #106 - Who is the World's Greatest? The Tournament Preliminaries Begin! - TV-PGLV 3. JoJo's Bizarre Adventure #18 - Von Stroheim's Revenge - TV-MAV 4. Mobile Suit Gundam Unicorn RE:0096 #8 - Laplace, Where it All Began - TV-PGL 5. Hunter x Hunter #40 - Nen Users Unite? - TV-14V 6. Naruto Shippuden #147 - The Rogue Ninja's Past - TV-PG 7. One Piece #381 - A New Crewmate! The Musician, Humming Brook - TV-PG 8. Ghost in the Shell: STAND ALONE COMPLEX #4 - INTERCEPTER - TV-14 [eight is great!]
  4. I like that mature bloody edge is finally returning to the lineup! It's been something that's been sorely missing since the Phantom Blood Arc of JoJo ended. I dunno; that wasn't exactly super bloody either! Parasyte was probably the last really bloody show we've had on Toonami!
  5. Don't get me wrong: I like Assy McGee and am in fact DVR'ing every episode. But I agree that this was a much better use of the timeslot and also a really nice surprise to see!
  6. Adult Swim is actually showing the first 11 minutes of Toonami Pre-Flight from 3/17/17 ON AIR tonight during DVR Theater!!! This is REALLY cool!!! I believe this is the first time Pre-Flight has been on TV?? What an awesome 36th Birthday Present! Edit: it wasn't the first 11 minutes, but actually a carefully edited version of the 2-hour-ish streaming version down to 22 minutes of highlights. Think this could become a semi-regular thing for Toonami going forward? I it would be cool if, for instance, they tried a "Toonami Post-Flight" (not live, of course), at 3:30 AM Saturday Nights where they discuss the block that just aired. Then again, if this was a success in the ratings, something like this at 8:30 PM after DragonBall Super would seem to be academic to me (again, not live!)
  7. Episode #12: A Private War We're halfway through, at 12 of 22, but the show has been jettisoned to 2. Shrug it off and finish the 4th OVA with Toonami! Stay up late for epic giant robot fighting after Hunter x Hunter -- I promise you won't regret it! 2 AM Tomorrow night (3/25)--ONLY TOONAMI!
  8. I was watching it in my anime club last night, and I dunno, I just found it hokey as hell!
  9. Right. 385 and 386 this weekend!
  10. http://programminginsider.com/ratings/final-nationals/wednesday-final-nationals-world-baseball-classic-championship-delivers-time-best-mlb-network-non-playoff-audience/ Well, the Wednesday rerun dropped under a million but only 0.01 in 18-49. Once again it valleyed between American Dad and Bob's Burgers, but not by as much as last week!
  11. Yeah, just judging by the ratings, I would think they wouldn't go right into Stardust, if at all, BUT I have heard rumblings on Twitter from some VAs that would indicate it's coming sooner rather than later.
  12. 1. Is Stardust Crusaders coming to Toonami directly after Battle Tendency, and 2. If so, will we get a new promo for it?
  13. Yeah, I really do believe Stardust Crusaders will do better myself, if that's what's going in that timeslot right after Battle Tendency! I also wonder if they recouped the cost of licensing for being able to play "Roundabout" for a year? Kinda fortuitous that it happened the year Yes gets inducted until the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame though, ain't it?? Anyway, back to Stardust, I'm sure they also licensed the American Classic Rock ED THAT part has if they got Stardust to directly follow BT! I just wonder if maybe this is somewhere else the costs of Season 7 of One Piece ended up going... I also forgot that DBZ KFC loses its dub premiere status very soon, ironically around the same time JoJo would gain it...or IS it?? Actually, if Stardust premieres on April 29th directly following BT, the first 3 episodes would NOT be dub premieres since they were part of that "test dub" that Crunchyroll streamed way back in July 2014. Coupled with the DVD/BD release of DBZ KFC, that means the only true dub premiere left on the schedule for those 3 weeks would be Hunter x Hunter. Good thing the conclusion of Samurai Jack opens the block those 3 weeks, especially the Grand Finale on May 13th! Assuming that Attack on Titan Season 2 replaces Jack at 11 PM on May 20th, that would mean a block with 3 dub premieres starts that day: AOTS2, JoJo: SC (w/ Episode 4), and Hunter x Hunter! Gundam IBO S2 would most likely join at some point for a 4th Dub Premiere. (I'm picking Tokyo Ghoul's FIRST season to air at 1 AM but then it and Gundam to swap).
  14. Last chance to see the crazy antics of the Great Saiyaman begins on the stream this afternoon!! EDIT...OR maybe not. The stream did not advance, meaning it's still 1-5 at least until 8 PM tonight!
  15. I think the problem with Battle Tendency (and to a lesser extent, Phantom Blood) actually MIGHT be that most people who wanted to see its dub already have it from the mass-produced bare-bones Warner release. That's not the case with Stardust Crusaders; beyond the first 3, which had a limited release on Crunchyroll as a test dub, those WILL be DUB PREMIERES. With One Piece off the block, I'm assuming they'll just keep on truckin' with JoJo for now. It will probably pair a lot better with Tokyo Ghoul than it did with Gundam, which should help its numbers. But still, it is kinda disheartening to look back on this time last year and see that Dimension W was doing over TWICE at times in total viewers what JoJo is doing in that timeslot this year!
  16. In this case, I don't think jack can retain Jack! http://programminginsider.com/ratings/final-nationals/saturday-final-nationals-ncaa-tournament-cbs-tbs-leads-prime-time/ Yeah, that's right. Jack gained from Family Guy for the 2nd week in a row!! 10:30 PM Family Guy 1,275,000 11:00 PM Samurai Jack 1,300,000 (101.96%) 11:30 PM Dragon Ball Super 1,054,000 (81.08%) 12:00 AM Sand Whale & Me 893,000 (84.72%) 12:05 AM DBZ Kai: The Final Chapters 973,000 (108.96%) 12:30 AM JoJo's Bizarre Adventure 790,000 (81.19%) 1:00 AM Mobile Suit Gundam Unicorn 679,000 (85.95%) 1:30 AM Hunter × Hunter 660,000 (97.20%) 2:00 AM Naruto: Shippuden 656,000 (99.39%) 2:30 AM One Piece 587,000 (89.48%) 3:00 AM Ghost In The Shell HD 559,000 (95.23%) TOTAL VIEWERS AVERAGE - 804,963 How about that! 18. If there's some kind of a clause in the contract that the premiere has to be at 8 PM, I don't understand it, except that presumably parents could show kids DVR-ed episodes from Toonami, rendering an 8 PM encore useless. There's less risk of that with the premiere itself at 8 PM. The simple fix would of course be airing toy ads during the 11:30 PM airing too, but it's unclear that [as] would go for that except under completely bizarre circumstances like how Ben 10 toy ads showed up during Eureka 7!
  19. Yeah, the fact that the 11:30 Super is a rerun of the 8 PM premiere hurts it a little bit, especially because lately the 8 PM premiere hasn't done much better than its predecessor DBZ Kai encores in previous years. I think things would be better all-around if they were switched, and the opportunity to do that might be coming up. Perhaps they air a "goofed-up" premiere episode of Super at 8 PM on April Fool's Day, then the REAL thing at 11:30 during Toonami? Finally, we could see a normal encore of that on April 8th, so that going forward 8 PM is once again an encore instead of a premiere.
  20. Well, first the bad news: Jack was down a bit. The GOOD news though is that all the other cable originals were WAY up! 3/18/2017 Dragon Ball Super (8 PM) - #28 Adults 18-34 Rating - 0.37 Estimated 18-34 - 251,000 ( 31.22% ) Adults 18-49 Rating - 0.29 Estimated 18-49 - 372,000 ( 46.27% ) Total Viewers - 804,000 3/18/2017 Samurai Jack - #5 Adults 18-34 Rating - 0.87 Estimated 18-34 - 591,000 ( 45.46% ) Adults 18-49 Rating - 0.68 Estimated 18-49 - 872,000 ( 67.08% ) Total Viewers - 1,300,000 3/18/2017 DBZ Kai: Final Chapters - #9 Adults 18-34 Rating - 0.64 Estimated 18-34 - 435,000 ( 44.71% ) Adults 18-49 Rating - 0.48 Estimated 18-49 - 615,000 ( 63.21% ) Total Viewers - 973,000 3/18/2017 JoJo's Bizarre Adventure - #11 Adults 18-34 Rating - 0.56 Estimated 18-34 - 381,000 ( 48.23% ) Adults 18-49 Rating - 0.41 Estimated 18-49 - 526,000 ( 66.58% ) Total Viewers - 790,000 3/18/2017 Gundam Unicorn - #15 Adults 18-34 Rating - 0.46 Estimated 18-34 - 313,000 ( 46.10% ) Adults 18-49 Rating - 0.36 Estimated 18-49 - 462,000 ( 68.04% ) Total Viewers - 679,000 The ugly is of course that College Basketball pretty much trashed Toonami to the point that it didn't win any of its timeslots before 1 AM, but it was probably at least #2. However, it's possible that Gundam Unicorn, in its last night at 1 AM, may actually have won its timeslot!
  21. Grab a bucket of the Colonel's chicken and plop your ass down in front of your computer screen and watch some DBZ KFC while eating some KFC this week! Kidding aside, it's episodes 1-5 through Wednesday, probably 6-10 after that. And of course SAO2, which hit the stream last week, goes out not with a bang (unlike Kill la Kill), but with a whimper!
  22. I don't believe ANY Toonami show has EVER accomplished THIS feat before: http://tvbythenumbers.zap2it.com/weekly-ratings/cable-top-25-for-march-6-12-2017/ #24 for the WEEK!! Also, on 3/15/17, Samurai Jack's first rerun got 67% of its premiere audience, 62% in 18-49. But hopefully the 2nd episode of Samurai Jack outdid the first. We'll find out tomorrow!
  23. The leading plan on Twitter is to watch 2 episodes a week prior to Toonami at 10 PM ET on Saturdays and to live-tweet about them then.
  24. I think that's been disproven; it's only the sub. Adult Swim is still streaming every episode but the 3rd. Edit: That's incorrect. Twitter has confirmed that it is in fact the dub. Which means that while Adult Swim retains the rights, the exclusivity clause has expired. It will be interesting going forward to see how [as] handles One-Punch Man. Maybe they're planning to bring it back if One-Punch Man 2 suddenly becomes available?
