The Toonami Ratings Thread 1.0 :You are on a new board

We still don't know if Samurai Jack beat its Family Guy lead-in in the 10 PM hour, but we DO know it beat previous weeks at 11 PM: Date Time Total Viewers Adults 18-49 1/7/2017 FamGuy 11:00 PM 1,629,000 940,000 1/14/2017 FamGuy 11:00 PM 1,433,000 868,000 1/21/2017 FamGuy 11:00 PM 1,389,000 794,000 1/28/2017 FamGuy 11:00 PM 1,423,000 808,000 2/4/2017 FamGuy 11:00 PM 1,436,000 893,000 2/11/2017 FamGuy 11:00 PM 1,564,000 921,000 2/18/2017 FamGuy 11:00 PM 1,427,000 825,000 2/25/2017 FamGuy 11:00 PM 1,434,000 810,000 3/4/2017 FamGuy 11:00 PM 1,329,000 820,000 3/11/2017 JACK!!! 11:00 PM 1,552,000 974,000 Keep in mind that 974K for Jack's 18-49 is an estimate based on 0.76 in 18-49, but it still blows away Family Guy's average of 853K and beats every single previous week in 2017. And Jack's 1552K in total viewers also beats every week of Family Guy but two, and of course also the average of 1452K by pretty much exactly 100K! And THIS is kinda neat, but with SBD this site is about as useless as Dio calls everything now: http://tvbythenumbers.zap2it.com/daily-ratings/saturday-cable-ratings-march-11-2017/ -
Toonami is going to pay dearly for loading up on...
OwlChemist81 replied to Zenigundam's topic in Toonami & [adult swim]
I don't think DB Super needs to be cancelled, but I do believe if Attack on Titan Season 2 is JoJo's temporary replacement, it should move up to 11:30 and Super reruns down to 12:30. Which is ironic since the highest-rated episode of anything so far on [as] Toonami featured a segment from the movie that was remade into the upcoming arc of Super, but that wouldn't happen until April 29th, and there might be enough episodes of Super down that we get through that. As for Hunter x Hunter, it's at 2 AM where it can only affect itself, Shippuden, and GITS reruns, so who the hell cares? -

THE BAD: JoJo and Gundam REALLY crapped the bed. And a lighthearted DBZ Kai Final Chapters apparently didn't do them any favors. Hopefully when Babidi and Buu appear, that will change, but I'm not holding my breath. THE UGLY: Well, so much for continuity helping out! THIS is why Tokyo Ghoul is coming at 1 AM in 2 weeks. At this point, the Super rerun, DBZKFC, and JoJo are little more than sacrificial lambs to the great and powerful SNL, but hopefully that has a huge audience come back to Toonami after SNL and that bleeds over to Gundam and even Hunter x Hunter! -

I just happen to find "clusterfudge" funnier! But the clusterfuck is indeed coming to an end, at least as far as we're concerned: UPDATE #4: http://www.showbuzzdaily.com/articles/wednesday-5-11-2016-fast-nationals-delayed.html We shall know how well Samurai Jack did at about 10 AM tomorrow morning! -

No; Florida, believe it or not. Also, delays confirmed to continue with no end in sight. http://www.showbuzzdaily.com/articles/wednesday-5-11-2016-fast-nationals-delayed.html -
Wow, I stand corrected! So 1 AM it is, and paired with JoJo and whatever the hell replaces it. So dub premieres at 12 AM and 2 AM--IT'S LIKE LATE 2013 ALL OVER AGAIN, When Bleach and Sword Art Online were the only 2 dub premieres--and in those same time slots!!! Except that there's that 11 PM hour before it this time, but Samurai Jack is a WORLD premiere, while DB Super is a near-premiere--but both are just barely disqualified from being dub premieres for wildly different reasons! Of course, this won't be the case for very long. I'm giving Unicorn like 95% odds of being replaced by Gundam IBO S2, which will be a dub premiere like its predecessor, and of course if they do just keep on truckin' with JoJo at 12:30, that becomes dub premiere with Episode 4 of Part 3. In fact, since JoJo retains 12:30, I daresay JoJo WILL most likely continue or at least be replaced with a dub premiere. At that point, the only non-dub premiere from 12-2:30 AM would be...Tokyo Ghoul. Hmmm...

http://tvlistings.zap2it.com/tvlistings/ZCGrid.do?fromTimeInMillis=1490500800000&aid=zap2it Hunter x Hunter fans, it finally happened. After rising to 12:30 once upon a time for some of the Hunter Exam arc in June and July, Hunter x Hunter has apparently fallen to 2 AM for the Yorknew arc. Meanwhile, Gundam Unicorn seems to have fallen to 1:30 but that's not really a major loss, even if its later OVA volumes are a bit harder to find. Most surprising is that JoJo, with its low retention average rate of 79.5% in 2017, gets to hang onto 12:30, while two shows that retained 89.7% and 91.7% respectively on average look to be falling back 30 minutes. That may indicate something better coming soon to that timeslot, but hopefully whatever it is works well with Tokyo Ghoul if it isn't more JoJo. DISCLAIMER: This is a reputable TV Schedule site but it is NOT official and so this is still subject to change. EDITED: Zap2it has re-arranged the order of the shows. Ghoul remains at 1 and HxH at 1:30, knocking Gundam down to 2. I believe this is a wise choice given Gundam's lackluster ratings, but I still hope IBO Season 2 is coming and gets a boost somehow.

Your Toonami Streaming Schedule for the Weekend
OwlChemist81 replied to OwlChemist81's topic in Toonami & [adult swim]
They finally changed it? They were just showing the Toonami lineup from 2/11/17 (that also streamed this past weekend) for a while this afternoon! Edit: I see that they did, but it's weird that they're only showing the beginning of the series, when if they did what they did with Kill la Kill before they lost the rights, theoretically that would mean 15-19 the first half of the week and 20-24 the last. The Calibur and Mother's Rosario arc in 1 week, if you will. Maybe the plan is to show it TWICE back-to-back, with a different group of episodes each time? Granted, they've never done that before, but I've seen a lot of weird stuff happen with the stream lately that I've never seen before! -

Never in the [as] era for a premiere, unless you count HD Bebop. Even Tenchi Muyo! GXP was merely death-slotted at 3 AM! -

Not really. It's been kind of a mixed bag. The best year was 2015, which featured 3 long-runners, 3 shorter premieres, and a rerun for the last 11 months. As more like Hunter x Hunter and JoJo showed up the ratings began to decline, even if JoJo is not actually treated as a long-runner but a serial. -

And I honestly think its broadcast dub will replace Samurai Jack at 11 PM AND retain the Wednesday night rerun... -

Mob Psycho would be a strange choice to replace JoJo since it's a FUNIMATION broadcast dub, but it also would probably do decent. I do hope Toonami isn't done with JoJo though, either. Would love to see Stardust Crusaders air someday, even if the Roundabout season has done pretty lackluster. -

Your Toonami Streaming Schedule for the Weekend
OwlChemist81 replied to OwlChemist81's topic in Toonami & [adult swim]
If you still can't sleep because your body thinks it's an hour earlier, head over to the Toonami Marathon Stream! Episode 6 of DB Super for the next-to-last time this weekend beginning now! Was Yamcha drunk or just socially awkward!! And the rest of the episode, from Iron Chef Vegeta to Krillin's fire breath, is quite a hoot! DBZ Kai and JoJo both involved honing inherent powers; nice touch for the Midnight hour that night, and both were also quite humorous and entertaining. The 1 AM hour was a bit of a snoozer though, as Gundam was a calm-before-the-storm episode, and Hunter x Hunter involved buying a game throughout its mainstay. -
One Piece Episode 383 Discussion Thread
OwlChemist81 replied to AnimationFan14's topic in Episode Discussion Archive
Wait, did I miss something here? One Piece was never actually ON ASA until that ill-fated month-long run at 8:30 PM in March 2015; it just aired adjacent to it before Bleach in 2008. -
I believe JoJo will not be treated as a long-runner but a serial. It will take a break after Part 2, but Part 3 will eventually air on Toonami-- --UNLESS it gets relegated to 2 AM when Tokyo Ghoul hits, as that would most likely indicate they've given up on it. Granted it almost always drops the ball from DBZ KFC, but I believe when we get to what JoJo is KNOWN for, part 3 and beyond, it will do much better.

We spent more time with Caesar (7 episodes, 14-20) than we did with his grandfather, the Baron Will A. Zeppeli (4 episodes, 4-7). Almost twice as much. It kind of sucks that these Zeppeli characters are nothing more than Hamon sacrifices for the JoJos in the end, but it works. I thought JoJo would need Zeppeli's Hamon at a later stage in the battle, but I guess not. I just hope there will be more Zeppelis in future stories! Not sure if Caesar actually procreated before he made his sacrifice...
