  1. First time I've seen anyone use ice as a weapon since Esdeath in Akame ga KILL! Yeah, they're a team, alright Von Stroheim! Get used to it!
  2. Funny, JoJo feels the same way about Von Stroheim that we do! And Kars has the stone now--crap!
  3. Ok, no cablers, it's finally your turn to see the lineup from 2/4/2017, which includes the following: 1. Dragonball Super #5 - Showdown on King Kai's World! Goku vs. Beerus the Destroyer! - TV-PGL 2. Dragonball Z Kai #103 - Entering the World Martial Arts Tournament! Goten Shows Off His Explosive Power During Training! - TV-PGLV 3. JoJo's Bizarre Adventure #15 - A Hero's Proof - TV-MAV (broadcast), TV-14LV 4. Mobile Suit Gundam Unicorn RE:0096 #5 - Clash With the Red Comet - TV-PGLV 5. Hunter x Hunter #37 - Ging and Gon - TV-PG 6. Naruto Shippuden #144 - Wanderer - TV-PGV 7. One Piece #378 - The Promise From a Distant Day! The Pirates' Song and a Small Whale - TV-PGLV 8. Ghost in the Shell: STAND ALONE COMPLEX #1 - SECTION 9 - TV-14SV However, just like last week, you've probably already seen 3 shows out of these 8 even if you don't have cable as long as you kept up with the Marathon Stream each week, because DB Super episodes 1-5 played the week of 2/13-2/17 and Gundam Unicorn episodes 1-5 played 2/20-2/24, and of course GITS is a rerun for the umpteenth time. "But wait, now it's in HD," you say? Well, sorry to burst your Hamon-filled bubble, but they actually screwed up and used the old SD version for the stream instead. So while the other 7 shows look great, it looks like CRAP. (Even worse than Shippuden)! Here's hoping they have this fixed by the time the canon story begins with Episode 4, but I'm not holding my breath. Well, at least they left in the cute little Tachikomatic Days short, so that's something. Even these shortcomings aside, there's still tons to enjoy out of this lineup, including some of the DB duo and JoJo's funniest moments yet, plus stellar action in Gundam and, believe it or not, Shippuden! So if you haven't seen it yet, or even if you have, give it a spin! It's still pretty enjoyable!
  4. Foxy back on Toonami in 2017!? Hell yeah!! I'm looking forward to this!!
  5. The adventures in York New Begin! 1:30 AM TOMORROW NIGHT (3/4), ONLY TOONAMI!!
  6. ...right? Is that which number we're on?? Well, get ready for more mind-bogglingly bad filler. 2 AM Saturday night (3/4/17), ONLY TOONAMI!!
  7. Episode #9: Retribution OP: "Into The Sky" by Tielle ED: "Merry Go Round" by Chemistry Finish off the 3rd OVA with us!! It'll be a blast! Tomorrow night (3/4/17) at 1 AM Only Toonami!
  8. True, but when something shows up on there like old Toonami videos that's worthy of a bump, we owe it that much. Not every week is relevant, but SOME are worthwhile!
  9. Maybe, but this isn't just any show; it's a long-awaited show that's premiering in a better timeslot than action has gotten in almost 8.5 years!!
  10. Why does no one talk Pre-Flight anymore!? If you're a true Toonami fan, this week's show is not to be missed! It's favorite staff - made videos!
  11. I dunno, I'm anticipating FLCL S2 world premieres in October or November, so there would potentially still be a small amount of overlap if AOT S2 comes in May.
  12. Yes, but ALL THAT CHANGES once Samurai Jack hits the lineup at 11 PM! BTW, do you remember what the last time an action show aired at 11 PM Saturday nights was and what that show was?
  13. It took me a few episodes, but you better believe I noticed! More along the lines of "if he was talking and I looked away, my brain briefly thought I was watching Bleach!"
  14. Oh yeah, and turns out I forgot one: GITS 2nd Gig! Though we might get something else in the 3 AM timeslot before that plays, I suppose.
  15. ...at some point later this year we'll have Attack on Titan Season 2, Gundam IBO Season 2, and FLCL Season 2 all airing on Toonami at the same time? The 2nd half of 2017 seems it might be the season of Season 2's!
  16. I'll bet Gundam Unicorn is your new favorite show on Toonami these days, since it has Bleach's narrator for recaps!
  17. The stream has advanced to Episodes 6-10, just as I predicted. Hopefully next time AOT comes up in the rotation we'll see 11-20 instead, then the next time, the week before S2 premieres, 16-25 I guess? Of course, they also might just move on to 16-25 because 11-15 are BORING as hell!
  18. In DVR Theater, 4 AM/3 AM Central on weeknights. Must have been a February Black History thing, because it's only got 2 nights left: tonight and tomorrow. It'll be replaced by FishCenter and Assy McGee! Assy's back!!
  19. What weird titles for the new Samurai Jack episodes. We ended the original run with "LII", or 52, but now here's what we have: 3/11/17 - "XCII" which is "92" in Roman numerals 3/18/17 - "XCIII" which is "93" in Roman numerals I wonder why the jump--could it be consistent with the timeskip? I wish they had gone with a different scheme for the last 10 episodes, and this one apparently ends at "CI," or 101, so it really doesn't make much sense. I don't get it.
  20. Here's the rundown: ADULTS 18-49 RETENTION 8:00 PM Dragon Ball Super 507,000 0.35 8:30 PM Samurai Jack 380,000 (74.95%) 0.24 11:00 PM Family Guy 810,000 11:30 PM Dragon Ball Super 683,000 (84.32%) 0.56 12:00 AM DBZ Kai: The Final Chapters 647,000 (94.73%) 0.49 12:30 AM JoJo's Bizarre Adventure 551,000 (85.16%) 0.37 1:00 AM Mobile Suit Gundam Unicorn 499,000 (90.56%) 0.31 1:30 AM Hunter × Hunter 469,000 (93.99%) 0.33 2:00 AM Naruto: Shippuden 442,000 (94.24%) 0.31 2:30 AM One Piece 353,000 (79.86%) 0.27 3:00 AM Ghost In The Shell HD 327,000 (92.63%) 0.23 ADULTS 18-49 TOONAMI AVERAGE - 496,375 TOTAL VIEWERS RETENTION 8:00 PM Dragon Ball Super 1,073,000 8:30 PM Samurai Jack 808,000 (75.30%) 11:00 PM Family Guy 1,434,000 11:30 PM Dragon Ball Super 1,232,000 (85.91%) 12:00 AM DBZ Kai: The Final Chapters 1,162,000 (94.32%) 12:30 AM JoJo's Bizarre Adventure 974,000 (83.82%) 1:00 AM Mobile Suit Gundam Unicorn 907,000 (93.12%) 1:30 AM Hunter × Hunter 827,000 (91.18%) 2:00 AM Naruto: Shippuden 767,000 (92.74%) 2:30 AM One Piece 603,000 (78.62%) 3:00 AM Ghost In The Shell HD 579,000 (96.02%) TOTAL VIEWERS AVERAGE - 881,375 Highest total viewers average yet in 2017, and 2nd highest average in 2017 for 18-49. That's pretty darn good, but I have a feeling what Toonami can do with new Samurai Jack will do as the flagship show will dwarf it. Moving on to the current show averages: CURRENT SHOW AVERAGES Total Viewers Dragon Ball Super (8 PM) - 926,875 (8 episodes) Samurai Jack Rerun (8:30 PM) - 673,143 (7 episodes) Dragon Ball Super (11:30 PM) - 1,211,375 (8 episodes) Dragon Ball Z Kai: Final Chapters - 1,090,250 (8 episodes) Jojo's Bizarre Adventure - 938,167 (18 episodes) Mobile Suit Gundam Unicorn - 762,250 (8 episodes) Hunter × Hunter - 862,225 (40 episodes) Naruto: Shippuden - 876,139 (147 episodes) One Piece - 790,703 (175 episodes) Ghost In The Shell HD - 515,750 (4 episodes) Adults 18-49 Dragon Ball Super (8 PM, Estimate) - 440,625 (8 episodes) Samurai Jack Rerun (8:30, Estimate) - 319,000 (7 episodes) Dragon Ball Super (11:30 PM) - 726,875 (8 episodes) Dragon Ball Z Kai: Final Chapters - 647,375 (8 episodes) Jojo's Bizarre Adventure - 564,833 (18 episodes) Mobile Suit Gundam Unicorn - 453,125 (8 episodes) Hunter × Hunter - 508,525 (40 episodes) Naruto: Shippuden - 484,828 (130 episodes) One Piece - 430,262 (130 episodes) Ghost In The Shell HD - 321,000 (4 episodes) Adults 18-34 (Estimated) Dragon Ball Super (8 PM) - 295,143 (7 episodes) Dragon Ball Z Kai: Final Chapters - 442,500 (8 episodes) Jojo's Bizarre Adventure - 380,278 (18 episodes) Mobile Suit Gundam Unicorn - 312,375 (8 episodes) Not really much to say here. Unicorn still looks feeble compared with the averages of its surrounding shows, and I don't see that changing. That's really unfortunate, because it was long-awaited.
  21. I agree. Maybe that's why Episode 8 seemed to do so well; it slowed the action down a little and gave us the opportunity to know the characters and their motivations. However, what's interesting is TWO OVAs came out before episode 8, which is part of the 3rd OVA! Apparently the lack of backstory didn't hurt theatrical releases of the first two OVAs in Japan!
  22. First 4 shows' numbers are in courtesy of ShowBuzzDaily, and I'm happy to say they're pretty damn good!! http://www.showbuzzdaily.com/articles/showbuzzdailys-top-150-saturday-cable-originals-network-finals-2-25-2017.html 2/25/2017 Dragon Ball Super (8 PM) - #11 Adults 18-34 Rating - 0.47 Estimated 18-34 - 319,000 ( 29.73% ) Adults 18-49 Rating - 0.40 Estimated 18-49 - 513,000 ( 47.81% ) Total Viewers - 1,073,000 2/25/2017 DBZ Kai: Final Chapters - #3 Adults 18-34 Rating - 0.62 Estimated 18-34 - 421,000 ( 36.23% ) Adults 18-49 Rating - 0.50 Estimated 18-49 - 641,000 ( 55.16% ) Total Viewers - 1,162,000 2/25/2017 JoJo's Bizarre Adventure - #7 Adults 18-34 Rating - 0.52 Estimated 18-34 - 353,000 ( 36.24% ) Adults 18-49 Rating - 0.43 Estimated 18-49 - 551,000 ( 56.57% ) Total Viewers - 974,000 2/25/2017 Gundam Unicorn - #13 Adults 18-34 Rating - 0.47 Estimated 18-34 - 319,000 ( 35.17% ) Adults 18-49 Rating - 0.39 Estimated 18-49 - 500,000 ( 55.13% ) Total Viewers - 907,000 In terms of total viewers and adults 18-49, that's a series high for Unicorn! Pretty good for an episode that was light on action but HEAVY on character development! Not to mention a series high for Super's 8 PM premiere in total viewers which pretty much tied its adults 18-49 number. The only stat these were kinda weak in was 18-34, but even that was better-than-average for 2017 for 3 out of the 4 shows; only Kai was below average. Of course, these numbers stand to be utterly blown away by the Samurai Jack-fronted lineup in 2 weeks, right? And we'll see more from this past week later!
  23. Ahead of the ratings report, some good news: another stellar night of trending! http://toonamifaithful.com/toonami-trending-rundown-for-february-25-26-2017/#disqus_thread Every show hit #1 in the U.S. and #7 worldwide except for Shippuden, which only reached #8. Hopefully that means great ratings, but we all know it probably won't. But we'll see tomorrow for sure!
  24. Well, then maybe democracy wouldn't be so great. I don't know what form of government is ideal. I guess I'll just go with "sapiocracy" or rule by smart people. Would be far better than the idiocracy-in-the-making we've got right now! Plus if you ask me, it's the scientists who wrote papers about climate change who should be making the policy decisions! Hopefully they wouldn't be so corrupt they'd do something like implant surveillance cameras in peoples' brains, just bringing it home to the topic of the thread!
  25. If you wanna catch up on Season 1, [as] and Toonami got your back this week! Episodes 1-5 now through Ash Wednesday at 6:30; 6-10 after that. Head to www.adultswim.com/videos/streams/toonami to catch Episode 1! Hoping this is just part of a multi - week effort to catch people up to prepare us for Season 2!
