Don't forget that shows are often pre-empted this time of year in Japan for Golden Week, which is the week of April 29th. If that is the case with Attack on Titan, then the first episode will be 3 episodes behind Japan but the 2nd and beyond will only be TWO episodes behind Japan! Breaking for Memorial Day would only set it back to 3 episodes behind Japan for its last 7 episodes in June and July, also assuming the more likely lack of pre-emption on July 1.

That would be totally awesome. That or HD G Gundam if we've gotta keep this a Gundam slot and IBO S2 isn't ready yet. Would they air IBO S2 at 2 AM? Maybe. After all since it seems AOT is getting 12:30, and SAO S1 aired at 2, it might not be a bad slot for a dub premiere. Plus Hunter x Hunter is stuck at 1:30 and even though the animation is 4 years old it IS a dub premiere!

Didn't even crack $19M. Will we EVER figure out how to make a successful live-action adaptation of an anime series in the US?? Not this year, apparently!

Wow, sounds more like a problem with Pony Canyon than the industry. Still, given how popular Attack on Titan is, it's kinda shocking that they wouldn't allocate more resources to producing more episodes. Well, 12 episodes it is then, and if it remains at 12:30 it will most likely be replaced by more JoJo when it ends in mid-July. It seems Toonami might not be interested in Gundam IBO Season 2 after all? Unless maybe Viz will take even longer to produce Stardust Crusaders and it will replace Tokyo Ghoul?

Yeah, and 12:30 IS pretty watchable! Heck, it's the same timeslot Dimension W, 10 episodes of Gundam IBO, and 2 episodes of One Punch Man got last year! I WOULD have preferred it air earlier since its predecessor did, but whatcha gonna do? Samurai Jack and DBZ are a LOT more popular. Or maybe they just got burned so bad by 11:30 reruns of Attack on Titan they're not gonna try THAT again--and instead we get 11:30 encores of Dragon Ball Super because they won't put anything but Jack before DBZ.

There actually was a moment kinda like that in the ADV dub of Neon Genesis Evangelion; I'll just assume it was referencing that if it makes it into the final TV-ready dub. But I'll admit that IS kinda cringeworthy!

Wow, this decision is interesting for 3 reasons: 1. Timeslot confirmed to be 12:30 AM!? Sounds like a horrible waste for any broadcast dub, but especially for a monster franchise like AOT! 2. Gundam Unicorn burns an episode while Tokyo Ghoul doesn't. That means when Unicorn ends, Ghoul will be on its 10th episode. I can't see Gundam IBO Season 2 airing at 2 AM, nor can I see Tokyo Ghoul getting buried with 2 episodes left in its first season. This raises 2 questions: A) What will air at 2 AM after Unicorn ends, and B) Does this mean that Gundam IBO S2's destiny is to replace AOT S2? It seems like it would be ready by July 22nd. 3. So they're thinking Stardust Crusaders won't even be ready by mid July?

That was overkill to the Nth degree, and what's worse is that they made the swear word filter "*cooks*" from that point forward ALL THE WAY THROUGH 2015 until the Lithium boards finally died in January 2016. I finally got to see the teaser trailer, and I noticed something strange: ALL the footage was from the first episode of Season 1 of AOT! That does kinda make sense since I doubt they'd actually have any footage from Season 2, but I thought it would make a lot more sense to see it use footage from the LAST episode of Season 1. And as for the 1-cour thing, we really don't know. It could announce a 2nd cour in October at the end of the Spring season. I really hope it does!

I totally forgot this show was coming back! Guess that's what the season finale of The Walking Dead will do to ya! But I will most likely watch next week.

I believe that's exactly what they're doing. We won't know for 39 weeks AFTER Stardust finally appears, but I believe they'll take another break between Part 3 and Part 4. Part 5 hasn't even been animated yet in Japan.

Hopefully, they'll re-air some of the interstitials too, like the Claymation saga and the video game Mr. Meeseeks battle. Those were cool.

Getting back to the original purpose of the thread, my 2 questions have now been answered: 1. No, we're getting AOT S2 on 4/29 instead, and 2. Actually, most likely; since it's taking a break, it only makes sense for it to get a new promo when it returns!

Finally saw the episode--freaking great! I predict that while Toonami's ratings may suck, Saturday night as a whole will be fine. And if you didn't get to see it, it airs every night this week at 10 PM and replays at 2:30 AM. Hopefully they'll replay some of the fun interstitials like the Meeseeks video game battle and the Gigantor spoof!

Not only that, but those weeks in October and November that included Hellsing Ultimate episodes 5-8 got screwed by Dish customers losing their Turner channels. That's one reason why I hope Hellsing and Gurren Lagann get a second chance someday. (Well, Gurren's would be its 5th, but whatever).

Back on Toonami's side, that means FLCL S2 WOULD cut into college football season IF it's premiering August 5th, but most big games won't be those 2 Saturdays. I'm thinking FLCL S2 will get promos/sneak peeks around AX and Comic-Con and then premiere July 29th.

Be that as it may, I guess I'll attempt to rank these... #8: Dragonball Z Kai - A decent episode involving pint-sized fighters, but still, pint-sized fighters. #7: Ghost In The Shell - Sorry, still looks like crap. #6: Naruto Shippuden - Quite possibly the worst Jinchuriki in the series... #5: One Piece - AH, FEH FEH FEH FEH FEH! #4: Dragonball Super - Worst pregnancy announcement ever, but the Super Saiyan God is BORN!! #3: Hunter x Hunter - When your bosses want your head, and you have to keep a disguise, worst job EVER! #2: JoJo's Bizarre Adventure - The last time JoJo and Caesar would trade blows... #1: Gundam Unicorn - The only show on the lineup with God-tier animation! Plus this episode was like the Walking Dead Season 7 premiere, with one key character death, then ANOTHER SURPRISE death!

Depends on what type of electric guitar we're talking about. There were indeed acoustical guitars with pickups in the 1930's, but the Fender Telecaster and Stratocaster weren't invented until the late 1940's and early 1950's. The sound Kars was getting out of her legs was more akin to electric guitars invented around 1950's than those "archtop" hybrid guitars that came about back then.

I don't see 11 PM during football season, but no reason to lose it in the summer. Of course the question is "what to air there?"

Yeah, that's what I'm thinking too. But what of when Jack ends? Is Stardust Crusaders 11:30 material? Or maybe... BRYCE POWER HOUR BABY! I SUPPOSE another, possibly more realistic candidate for the timeslot Jack vacates is Gundam IBO Season 2. Also that would mean that after being banished to Midnight/12:30 for only 3 weeks, the Dragon Ball Hour most likely bumps back up to 11:30 as there ain't no way they're gonna try Gundam earlier than 12:30 again. But would they double up on Gundam with Unicorn still with 2 episodes left to go at 2 AM? Acquiring AOT only to air it at 12:30 directly replacing JoJo would be a huge waste, so I'm thinking there's no way they're doing that. But it's also possible (though quite idiotic if you ask me) that when Jack ends we simply lose 11 PM.

SPECULATION SUNDAY, PART 2: In a thread I just made I discussed the idea of JoJo Stardust Crusaders replacing Jack, but would that REALLY make much sense? What else could possibly take the coveted 11 PM timeslot from Samurai Jack but... Don't get me wrong, I'm thinking AOT S2 would of course bump to 11 PM, but it's only right to follow that up with another Hard Hitter from 2017, and Super has sort of lost its magic. Therefore, my bold speculation is that Blue Exorcist Kyoto Saga is tapped to follow AOT on June 3rd. But would anyone want to see the 11 PM hour the Bryce Papenbrook Power Hour this summer? And would DB Super/Kai be OK at Midnight? After all, they're from 2015 and 2014 respectively.
