  1. I think you're right about that! I noticed something interesting while rewatching JoJo last night: I believe they used the same recycled bumps from the 12:30 episode during the 1 AM episode kind of like they did for the Parasyte marathon, at least until the commercial break of episode 26, which featured scenes from episode 25. I'm going to have to rewatch again to see if that was in fact the case, as I don't remember what the internal bumps of episode 25 were like. But it seems like the effort level is much higher with Attack on Titan Season 2 despite it being relegated to the timeslot after the Dragonball Hour, but it and Tokyo Ghoul were probably purposefully placed there to lift the midblock. While Toonami is intent on picking up Stardust Crusaders, it's also apparent that after Battle Tendency began to disappoint in the ratings they probably considered it a "throwaway" show.
  2. That's actually the 8 PM airing of Super, which pretty much does lower than Kai consistently. But that's actually very good for it! By all measurements it hasn't been this good since February 25th! ShowBuzzDaily and TV By The Numbers don't even touch the 11:30 PM airing since it's a same-night encore. We won't find out how well it did, not even an estimate, until the Programming Insider numbers come out usually in late afternoon, and we also won't know its 18-34 number.
  3. Last week Jack hit a series low, and everything else pretty much followed suit, as NBA Basketball made Toonami its bitch: http://www.showbuzzdaily.com/articles/showbuzzdailys-top-150-saturday-cable-originals-network-finals-4-15-2017.html 4/15/2017 Dragon Ball Super (8 PM) - #12 (+12) Adults 18-34 Rating - 0.41 Estimated 18-34 - 279,000 ( 32.07% ) Adults 18-49 Rating - 0.35 Estimated 18-49 - 449,000 ( 51.61% ) Total Viewers - 870,000 4/15/2017 Samurai Jack - #6 (-5) Adults 18-34 Rating - 0.79 Estimated 18-34 - 537,000 ( 40.22% ) Adults 18-49 Rating - 0.66 Estimated 18-49 - 846,000 ( 63.37% ) Total Viewers - 1,297,000 4/15/2017 DBZ Kai: Final Chapters - #7 (-5) Adults 18-34 Rating - 0.57 Estimated 18-34 - 387,000 ( 41.88% ) Adults 18-49 Rating - 0.45 Estimated 18-49 - 577,000 ( 62.45% ) Total Viewers - 924,000 4/15/2017 JoJo's Bizarre Adventure - #9 (-3) Adults 18-34 Rating - 0.56 Estimated 18-34 - 381,000 ( 45.96% ) Adults 18-49 Rating - 0.42 Estimated 18-49 - 538,000 ( 64.90% ) Total Viewers - 829,000 4/15/2017 JoJo's Bizarre Adventure - #11 (-6) Adults 18-34 Rating - 0.44 Estimated 18-34 - 299,000 ( 40.03% ) Adults 18-49 Rating - 0.36 Estimated 18-49 - 462,000 ( 61.85% ) Total Viewers - 747,000 4/15/2017 Gundam Unicorn - #21 (-4) Adults 18-34 Rating - 0.35 Estimated 18-34 - 238,000 ( 42.88% ) Adults 18-49 Rating - 0.26 Estimated 18-49 - 333,000 ( 60.00% ) Total Viewers - 555,000 The worst news is that this week that pattern will likely continue since Toonami will be up against Game 3 of a Playoff Series between the Golden State Warriors and the Portland Trailblazers. And next week depending on how the series goes may be even worse as Toonami is up against Game 7s on TNT! But perhaps the huge influx of viewers to ESPN had to do with the fact that it was the first game of the playoffs and Attack on Titan and the return of Tokyo Ghoul will hold viewers better than JoJo ever could? Also, Phantom Blood (which is currently streaming on the Toonami Marathon Stream Channel) has now done objectively much better than Battle Tendency in the ratings. PB averaged a 1009K in total viewers and a 397K in adults 18-34, but then BT only mustered 835K on average in total viewers and 358K in adults 18-34. (PB averaged 604K in adults 18-49 but BT's true final average is still pending.) And unholy squirrel, you would THINK JoJo would be able to hold JoJo well, but apparently that wasn't the case, as it dropped a mind-boggling 0.14 in the young adult demo (18-34) from the first episode to the 2nd. Perhaps right after Episode 25 ended some young adults changed the channel to ESPN as the buzz was growing about the crazy finish to that game, and then tuned back afterward, but the effect hurt Episode 26's ratings overall? At any rate, JoJo: BT's final battle might have been the worst-rated final battle on Toonami since Hellsing Ultimate X, while its counterpart in PB was the show's personal best, despite being more of a tragic ambush than a true final battle.
  4. I'm not even sure how long ago it's been, but whatever. Maybe on Memorial day, we get AOT and DB Super as normal as the former moves up to 11 PM, then a 7-episode marathon at midnight? I guess we'll see!
  5. Bump because it's back this week (4/17-4/21)! Perhaps this time it will actually advance to episodes 6-10 Wednesday night at about 9 PM? I thought they would be doing Attack on Titan, but maybe the switcheroo last week was too soon for [as] streaming to adjust? Either way, kinda nice to be able to start it from the beginning, especially with Episode 11 still streaming. Plus, after having seen all of Battle Tendency, I've gotta say that I like Phantom Blood better, and so did [as] viewers... [fight me bro]
  6. What's wrong with diehard Toonami fandom? They always seem to get the best shows, with a few exceptions. Besides, subscription services seem like more of a commitment. The Toonami stream is often something I have in the background while I do other stuff, and its value is that I sometimes notice nuances of some of the more complex shows (such as Gundam and Ghost) the nth time I might have missed the n-1th!
  7. It was kind of a social experiment. Plus I was kinda sick.
  8. Remember, Golden Week is a thing and it's coming up soon. AOT may take a break that week, which would mean we'd be briefly behind the Japanese broadcast by only 2 episodes, falling back to 3 after OUR "Golden Week" (Memorial Day)!
  9. From March 18th: Oddly enough, when this lineup played on the Toonami Marathon Stream this past weekend (4/14-4/16), I appreciated Dragonball Super and Ghost In The Shell quite a bit more.
  10. And now the endblock has just ended for by most measurable standards the last watchable time this weekend, but how does it stack up? Shippuden's next-to-last week in filler hell on the stream is last of the end... One Piece gets in a final cheers amid some skullfudgery by Brook at #2, and finally... Ghost In The Shell is my pick for best of the back third, with much improved visuals over the first 5 episodes that streamed this year!
  11. The sweet, brutal midblock: JoJo was mostly a transitional episode, so it takes the 3rd spot among the midblockers. Gundam Unicorn had amazing, brutal action, but it was just edged out by... An episode of Hunter x Hunter that kept you glued to the edge of your seat, starting with the brutal assault on the auction, and tending toward Uvogin's assault in the canyon, plus the Shadow Beasts' introduction right at the end! A little later tonight, I'll rank the end-block, Shippuden, One Piece, and GITS!
  12. One of your last chances to catch this great lineup is happening now! The first 3 shows down (not counting SWAM); here's some of their best moments: Of them, I rank Jack first, Super 2nd, and the "transition" episode of DBZ KFC last, so far... But JoJo streams next...
  13. Just what the hell makes you think Uvogin was gay? I'll give you Speedwagon (although I don't believe he was either), but I can see even less of Uvo! You know what? I don't even think about it. There's not enough information given toward these characters' sexuality to make an objective determination, and I'm FINE with that!
  14. In 1952 he WAS like 90. And then a popular 70's band would be named in his honor...
  15. I gotta admit that was an interesting twist right there at the end! I wonder how that will shake out...
  16. Can always count on Gundam to provide awesome animation with questionable character motivation! Until next time...
  17. Either this forum is dead tonight, or people are just spellbound by this incredible animation!
  18. It's the first lineup from Toonami's 20th Anniversary, now streaming! Here's the treasure that awaits: 11:00 - Samurai Jack #54 - XCIII - TV-14V 11:30 - Dragonball Super #11 - Let's Keep Going, Lord Beerus! The Battle of Gods! - TV-PGV 12:00 - Sand Whale and Me #1 - Warfare Encounter - TV-PGV 12:05 - Dragonball Z Kai #109 - Restless Foreboding. A Mysterious Warrior Appears! - TV-PGLV 12:30 - JoJo's Bizarre Adventure #21 - A Hundred Against Two - TV-14V (broadcast), TV-14LV (personal) 1:00 - Mobile Suit Gundam Unicorn RE:0096 #11 - The Battle at Torrington - TV-14V 1:30 - Hunter x Hunter #43 - A Shocking Tragedy - TV-14V 2:00 - Naruto Shippuden #150 - The Forbidden Jutsu Released - TV-PGL 2:30 - One Piece #383 - Brook's Great Struggle! Is the Path to Becoming a True Comrade Rigorous? - TV-PG 3:00 - Ghost in the Shell: STAND ALONE COMPLEX #7 - IDOLATER - TV-14V Kind of a mixed bag, but that Hunter x Hunter episode is keep-you-on-the-edge-of-your-seat QUALITY!!
  19. Apparently old-ass frog sage is back, performing feats of Titanic proportion:
  20. Until tonight! And Uvo's gonna need a whole six pack to get through this one!
  21. Sorry it took me so long to update! My phone is FUBAR!
  22. Thanks for bearing with me while I got this page updated! My cell phone is having such issues that "8)" was all I was able to do last night! Especially enjoy the special "Roundabout" video we were able to get only through a bizarre twist of fate in which JoJo premiered on Toonami the same year YES were inducted until the Hall of Fame!
  23. EPISODE #15: Waiting In Space OP: "Into The Sky" by SawanoHiroyuki[nZk]:Tielle ED: "bL∞dy f8 -eUC-" by SawanoHiroyuki[nZk]:Aimer Space is the place at 2 AM tonight (4/15/17)! Only Toonami!
