No. That's how it USED to be with Kai, but now it's the true "premiere!" -

At least it's believable in her case because motherhood and maturity in general does tend to change women. But some of the other character shifts, such as Vegeta's, are downright ridiculous even if they retain their core personality traits, as Whis so aptly pointed out in this episode! -

It's funny that Videl had no clue why the sky got so dark all of a sudden! But she did feel a foreboding feeling toward the end of the show! -
The Toonami Ratings Thread 1.0 :You are on a new board
OwlChemist81 replied to StarPanda's topic in Toonami & [adult swim]
Getting back to the original subject of the thread, Toonami has a TON of competent competition tonight. NHL hockey featuring the Preds is on right now, and the NBA Playoff game begins on ESPN tonight at 9, and will most likely have the conclusion coincide with the finale of Samurai Jack. Plus SNL's season finale will affect everything after Jack's season finale. I don't think there's any UFC or Boxing, but isn't that ENOUGH? Well I guess we'll see how everything does Tuesday! Also, if there were ever a time for Dragon Ball Super to take over 11 PM, it's now (well beginning on June 3rd). We're through the embarrassingly bad Beerus-ish filler and Frieza is BACK! Even if they're reruns, I believe those episodes will likely do well on Toonami because it IS Frieza! -

It appears that I WILL be able to watch the new episode of Dragon Ball Super at its "sneak premiere" time of 8 PM tonight since it's raining out! Was going to go to the local MILB game, but it's rained out until at least 7:30! Now the flipside is that my satellite might go down, but I'mma give it a try. How much of Toonami I get to see tonight is a lot less certain. I will probably miss the Jack finale but I most likely will catch AOT onward. -

6/3 Schedule Jack rerunning at 11
OwlChemist81 replied to brianycpht's topic in Toonami & [adult swim]
What you're missing here is that Lupin has indeed been announced for 1:30, but currently that timeslot's tenant is the long-runner Hunter x Hunter. That's a problem. No matter what, at least one show would have to air in one timeslot one week then a different timeslot the following week. Could simply drop HxH to 2 AM but that's a crappy thing to do to HxH. And hopefully from the Wednesday ratings data as well as the marathon they'd be doubly wary about trying a rerun of Samurai Jack at 11 PM. A better solution would be to shift the schedule once immediately after the marathon and keep it there for a while. And if DBZ Kai has aired at 8 PM, then why not 11 PM? It also almost always gains on Super and it HAS been shown (in the pre-FC days) to gain on Family Guy as well. Super, since apparently it's written in blood in its contract that it MUST air at 11:30 except on holiday weekends would stay put, and everything from AOT through Shippuden would move up 30 minutes with Jack's 5th run taking Shippuden's place at 2:30. This would land the lame-duck Gundam Unicorn at 1:30 for its final 2 episodes, where it would simply be replaced by Lupin on the 17th! -
6/3 Schedule Jack rerunning at 11
OwlChemist81 replied to brianycpht's topic in Toonami & [adult swim]
Or that it's a mere placeholder because they haven't fully figured out the June 3 schedule yet. I really hope DBZ KFC moves up an hour, DB Super stays put, and everything else but GITS moves up 30 minutes, with Jack rerunning at 2:30 AM. That would seem to be the most logical slot for its rerun to me, since previously prior to the marathon, its last run will have been 2:30 AM on Wednesday nights. It's almost like they learned absolutely NOTHING from the AOT rerun debacle if they stick with this! -

Lest I forget I DO have FUNimation NOW and theoretically can watch Fujiko Mine anytime I want! Since we know Lupin the 3rd Part 4 is coming at 1:30, I think there are 3 possible schedule configurations, and I REALLY dislike the 3rd, for an OBVIOUS reason... :poop: 1. All Dub Premieres Together 11 PM Samurai Jack ® 11:30 DB Super ® 12 AM DBZ KFC (np) 12:30 Attack on Titan S2 (bd) 1 AM Hunter x Hunter (dp) 1:30 Lupin the 3rd Part 4 (dp) 2 AM Tokyo Ghoul (np) 2:30 Shippuden (np) 3 AM GITS ® 2. Get Back, Jack! 11 PM DBZ KFC (np) 11:30 DB Super ® 12 AM Attack on Titan S2 (bd) 12:30 Tokyo Ghoul (np) 1 AM Hunter x Hunter (dp) 1:30 Lupin the 3rd Part 4 (dp) 2 AM Shippuden (np) 2:30 Samurai Jack ® 3 AM GITS ® 3 Edgy 5 U, HxH! 11 PM Samurai Jack ® 11:30 DB Super ® 12 AM DBZ KFC (np) 12:30 Attack on Titan S2 (bd) 1 AM Tokyo Ghoul (np) 1:30 Lupin the 3rd Part 4 (dp) 2 AM Hunter x Hunter (dp) 2:30 Shippuden (np) 3 AM GITS ® LEGEND: ® = rerun; (np) = network premiere; (bd) = broadcast dub; (dp) = dub premiere (which Lupin the 3rd will be, along with Hunter x Hunter) Hopefully they'll go with option 2, as the Wednesday night rerun is officially cratering in the ratings: http://programminginsider.com/ratings/final-nationals/wednesday-final-nationals-downward-dog-begins-criminal-minds-beyond-borders-ends-unspectacular-notes/ Not even a 900K or 0.40, also lost almost a tenth from the show before (AD), and the show after it (BB) gained a full 0.20 in 18-49! So I guess Burchard > McFarlane > Genndy. Who knew? -
Lupin the 3rd Comes to Toonami June 17th
OwlChemist81 replied to viperxmns's topic in Toonami & [adult swim]
See, I don't really get that, because it's still the same show, just packaged differently. Plus I'm sure you're still grateful that Toonami got to air it at all since they haven't touched OVAs since Hellsing Ultimate X bombed hilariously. Its TV edit was most likely to air on Toonami since its OVAs featured rather wonky airtimes. I suppose it still could have been accomplished with a 90-minute timeslot like Hellsing Ultimate IV, but it would have whisked 2 other shows off the lineup in the process. Of course none of these problems exist with the new Lupin series. I just hope Toonami isn't done with OVAs and Gundam series for good now. If Mobile Suit Gundam Origin gets a TV cut at some point, hopefully that would be decent to air on Toonami. Thunderbolt would be another good series to show on Toonami and it features a unique opportunity for playing 4-5-minute interstitials without screwing up other shows' start times. And for all we know, IBO S2 could still be coming July 29th. Perhaps absence will make viewers' hearts grow fonder once Gundam Unicorn concludes on June 10th? -
This is an awesome video! Good way to learn about the history of Toonami and I even learned a few things I didn't know! Kinda funny that the video's default screen depicts a character who won't be seen on Toonami again for a while at least. I really hope they can find a slot for Gundam IBO Season 2, but if not, it proves not even regular-length series are immune to getting cut off mid-run!

here's what i never got about marathons
OwlChemist81 replied to CountFrylock's topic in Toonami & [adult swim]
If they do take July 1st off for a marathon this year, hopefully it will be AOT S2. I think that would be the best choice for it, as theoretically 9 episodes of the show should be out by then. However, it seems like such a move would kill whatever momentum Lupin III Part 4 has from the 17th and 24th similar to what happened with JoJo last year, so that might be a bad idea. -

I dig that Lupin's coming, but why the hell did it have to be at Gundam's expense? That being said, I hope they realize how BS it would be to air Season 1 of a show but never Season 2... OH right. Just ask One Piece!
