  1. You're an idiot if you really believe this!
  2. And likewise, there's nothing in there that suggests that it isn't either! Whole networks just aren't pre-empted whenever they share channel space! This would be ridiculously huge since nothing like it has happened for 11 years or more!
  3. That STILL doesn't mean anything definitive because it's ridiculously vague! One theory is that CN is only "taken over" during its broadcast hours, while Boomerang is "taken over" for the entire 48 hours.
  4. Yeah, well that STILL doesn't mean that BOTH networks will play only those episodes ad-nauseum! Besides, Futon Critic is NOT super-reputable, despite what they say. More information is needed.
  5. Yeah, but how LONG are those 20 episodes? WHY would they take 48 hours?? Something just isn't adding up here. If they're half hours, that would be 10 hours, so what the hell happens in the other 38? Maybe somehow the event is 12 hours, and contains 16 30-minute episodes, and 4 hour-long episodes. Then maybe it airs twice on CN and twice on Boomerang: 6 AM-6 PM 7/7 CN Round 1 6 PM-6 AM 7/7 Boom Round 2 6 AM-6 PM 7/8 AS Round 3 6 PM-6 AM 7/8 Boom Round 4 Yes, that leaves the 6 PM-7 PM hour, but maybe [as] is taking that too starting in the 2nd half of the year? We really don't know. But it's possible that the double-network takeover doesn't necessarily mean both networks at the same time.
  6. But that still doesn't necessarily mean that BOTH networks will be taken over at the same time. In fact, that might be why Boomerang is involved; because to run this garbage for 48 hours, they CAN'T use their normal "A-channel" so they HAVE to take over the "B-channel". But I'm sure we'll get official confirmation on what the hell is happening here soon.
  7. I'm not completely convinced that we won't get [as] and Toonami on July 7th by this news. Note that it says a DOUBLE NETWORK event BETWEEN CN and Boomerang. My theory is that CN will air the event during its normal hours, and Boomerang will air the event in the hours that the channel CN occupies is airing [as], while Boomerang airs its normal programming during the hours that CN is airing. But I could just as easily be proven wrong here. We're gonna have to await official news to figure out what the hell is going on here. But I really hope CN isn't going to take over hours on the schedule that have belonged to [as] for 11 years or more now, because CN has devolved into absolute shit and that would be really, really weird!
  8. Well, it turns out you actually COULD watch Samurai Champloo episodes # 16-#20 on the stream over the weekend, but you had to be using the browser--the app was screwed up and was still playing #11-#15, occasionally cutting away to #16-#20 briefly. But now we've moved on to One-Punch Man, and it looks like Episodes 8-12 (as Episode 9 was playing at 8:30), indicating that they're probably losing the rights soon!
  9. This is 6/2/18, not 6/9/18. It's actually just something I forgot to post because I was too busy at the end of last week, and because I was having computer issues.
  10. Dragon Ball Super makes the Live+3 Top 25 in 18-49 once again on June 2nd: http://tvbythenumbers.zap2it.com/dvr-ratings/cable-live-3-ratings-for-may-28-june-3-2018 http://programminginsider.com/live3-weekly-ratings-the-americans-series-finale-on-fx-hits-season-highs-and-more-than-doubles-its-original-telecast-viewership/ Dragon Ball Super (ADSM, Sat., 6/2/18 10:30 PM)– Live+Same Day: 1.074 million viewers / 0.641 million adults 18-49– Live+3 Day: 1.503 million viewers (+39.94%) / 0.928 million adults 18-49 (+44.77%) Pretty sweet! Note also in the comments no FLCL: Progressive Live+3 since they do this for primetime ratings only. And finally, for the rest of the 18-49s: http://programminginsider.com/saturday-final-ratings-golden-knights-capitals-on-nbcsn-post-most-viewed-nhl-stanley-cup-final-game-three-in-3-years/ 6/2/18 - Adults 18-49 Show Total Viewers Adults 18-49 Family Guy 594,000 DBS 640,000 107.74% DBZKFC 518,000 80.94% MHA 370,000 71.43% FLCL 372,000 100.54% JoJo 273,000 73.39% HxH 275,000 100.73% B. 11. Well, this is quite strange. Late on Friday night, it LOOKED like the stream was trying to advance to #16-#20, but it kept glitching back to earlier episodes. I guess Saturday morning they fixed the glitch, but it ended up STAYING on #11-#15! And what's even more bizarre is that the OLD Pre-Flight episode, the one about nuclear apocalypse movies, is still streaming as well!!
  12. Hey, lookie here... https://www.animenewsnetwork.com/review/dragon-ball-super/episode-66/.108768 Rating: B
  13. Hey, I thought it was a decent end, but maybe just because swordplay in the Dragon Ball Universe is freakishly rare. Of course, we have yet to see if this really IS the end, but it feels like it!
  14. Yeah, sadly you're right. As opposed to where it should be in the lineup, 2nd right ahead of Super, it was a waste of money. But it IS also possible there was extra ad space due to extra breaks--but could they have made such a move on-the-fly to promote an [as] show, and a Toonami show at that? I guess the answer is "maybe!"
  15. Ugh, I don't think I can hold my eyes open much longer...
  16. ...well, that really narrows it down!!
  17. SESSION #9: JAMMING WITH EDWARD! Don't eat it!!
  18. Pretty cool that we're finally on the episode of Shippuden that bears my area code. Can ya dig it, ya fools? 2 AM tonight; Only Toonami!
  19. Episode 98: Infiltration and Selection The showdown between wannabe queen Zazan and the Phantom Troupe over the last 2 episodes was fun and revealing, but now we're back to the main story as Gon and Killua take the fight against the Chimera Ants to new heights, and end up in one heck of a quagmire! See? 1 AM tonight (6/9); don't miss it! Only Toonami!
  20. I mentioned this briefly in the 2018 Weekly Streaming Archives thread, but you are correct, except that it's really not that random at all: it's the same show over and over for a week, 5 episodes Monday night through Friday night, and then the next 5 Friday night through Monday night.
  21. Iggy vs. Pet Shop, Part 2... 12:30 AM tomorrow (6/9)! ONLY TOONAMI!!
  22. EPISODE 2: FREEBIE HONEY!! It's Haruko vs. the mysterious new guitar-wielder! Get your Fooly Cooly on Tomorrow at Midnight Only Toonami!!
  23. Episode 5: "What I Can Do For Now" "Ahh ahh ahh ahh, Stayin' Alive, Stayin' Alive!!" ...at the UA, that is!! Catch that Saturday Night Fever at 11:30 PM tonight (6/9)! Only Toonami!! Disclaimer: this episode probably has nothing to do with the Bee Gees; I just thought her gesture was too hilarious a coincidence!
  24. In other words, basically it's an opportunity cost: you could choose to make that money by selling the ad space or you could choose to promote one of your internal projects and NOT make that money. Now the question is: is 580K people watching an episode of FLCL worth 1M? It was rather expensive at $1.72 a head, but maybe the comparison between what that slot HAD gotten at Midnight so far in 2018 in 18-49 vs. what it got last week is more germane. That would be 317K vs. 372K, a gain of only 55K. And $1M/55K = $18.18. So that's how much in ad dollars that the episode of FLCL would have to have recouped to pay for the ad space during Game 7 of the NBA Finals. Had it aired twice, that number would double to $36.36, at least in theory. But then again, the full impact of FLCL hasn't yet been realized so this math might not be all that reliable.
