  1. Well, it turns out you actually COULD watch Samurai Champloo episodes # 16-#20 on the stream over the weekend, but you had to be using the browser--the app was screwed up and was still playing #11-#15, occasionally cutting away to #16-#20 briefly. But now we've moved on to One-Punch Man, and it looks like Episodes 8-12 (as Episode 9 was playing at 8:30), indicating that they're probably losing the rights soon!
  2. This is 6/2/18, not 6/9/18. It's actually just something I forgot to post because I was too busy at the end of last week, and because I was having computer issues.
  3. Dragon Ball Super makes the Live+3 Top 25 in 18-49 once again on June 2nd: http://tvbythenumbers.zap2it.com/dvr-ratings/cable-live-3-ratings-for-may-28-june-3-2018 http://programminginsider.com/live3-weekly-ratings-the-americans-series-finale-on-fx-hits-season-highs-and-more-than-doubles-its-original-telecast-viewership/ Dragon Ball Super (ADSM, Sat., 6/2/18 10:30 PM)– Live+Same Day: 1.074 million viewers / 0.641 million adults 18-49– Live+3 Day: 1.503 million viewers (+39.94%) / 0.928 million adults 18-49 (+44.77%) Pretty sweet! Note also in the comments no FLCL: Progressive Live+3 since they do this for primetime ratings only. And finally, for the rest of the 18-49s: http://programminginsider.com/saturday-final-ratings-golden-knights-capitals-on-nbcsn-post-most-viewed-nhl-stanley-cup-final-game-three-in-3-years/ 6/2/18 - Adults 18-49 Show Total Viewers Adults 18-49 Family Guy 594,000 DBS 640,000 107.74% DBZKFC 518,000 80.94% MHA 370,000 71.43% FLCL 372,000 100.54% JoJo 273,000 73.39% HxH 275,000 100.73% B. 4. Well, this is quite strange. Late on Friday night, it LOOKED like the stream was trying to advance to #16-#20, but it kept glitching back to earlier episodes. I guess Saturday morning they fixed the glitch, but it ended up STAYING on #11-#15! And what's even more bizarre is that the OLD Pre-Flight episode, the one about nuclear apocalypse movies, is still streaming as well!!
  5. Hey, lookie here... https://www.animenewsnetwork.com/review/dragon-ball-super/episode-66/.108768 Rating: B
  6. Hey, I thought it was a decent end, but maybe just because swordplay in the Dragon Ball Universe is freakishly rare. Of course, we have yet to see if this really IS the end, but it feels like it!
  7. Yeah, sadly you're right. As opposed to where it should be in the lineup, 2nd right ahead of Super, it was a waste of money. But it IS also possible there was extra ad space due to extra breaks--but could they have made such a move on-the-fly to promote an [as] show, and a Toonami show at that? I guess the answer is "maybe!"
  8. Ugh, I don't think I can hold my eyes open much longer...
  9. ...well, that really narrows it down!!
  10. SESSION #9: JAMMING WITH EDWARD! Don't eat it!!
  11. Pretty cool that we're finally on the episode of Shippuden that bears my area code. Can ya dig it, ya fools? 2 AM tonight; Only Toonami!
  12. Episode 98: Infiltration and Selection The showdown between wannabe queen Zazan and the Phantom Troupe over the last 2 episodes was fun and revealing, but now we're back to the main story as Gon and Killua take the fight against the Chimera Ants to new heights, and end up in one heck of a quagmire! See? 1 AM tonight (6/9); don't miss it! Only Toonami!
  13. I mentioned this briefly in the 2018 Weekly Streaming Archives thread, but you are correct, except that it's really not that random at all: it's the same show over and over for a week, 5 episodes Monday night through Friday night, and then the next 5 Friday night through Monday night.
  14. Iggy vs. Pet Shop, Part 2... 12:30 AM tomorrow (6/9)! ONLY TOONAMI!!
  15. EPISODE 2: FREEBIE HONEY!! It's Haruko vs. the mysterious new guitar-wielder! Get your Fooly Cooly on Tomorrow at Midnight Only Toonami!!
  16. Episode 5: "What I Can Do For Now" "Ahh ahh ahh ahh, Stayin' Alive, Stayin' Alive!!" ...at the UA, that is!! Catch that Saturday Night Fever at 11:30 PM tonight (6/9)! Only Toonami!! Disclaimer: this episode probably has nothing to do with the Bee Gees; I just thought her gesture was too hilarious a coincidence!
  17. In other words, basically it's an opportunity cost: you could choose to make that money by selling the ad space or you could choose to promote one of your internal projects and NOT make that money. Now the question is: is 580K people watching an episode of FLCL worth 1M? It was rather expensive at $1.72 a head, but maybe the comparison between what that slot HAD gotten at Midnight so far in 2018 in 18-49 vs. what it got last week is more germane. That would be 317K vs. 372K, a gain of only 55K. And $1M/55K = $18.18. So that's how much in ad dollars that the episode of FLCL would have to have recouped to pay for the ad space during Game 7 of the NBA Finals. Had it aired twice, that number would double to $36.36, at least in theory. But then again, the full impact of FLCL hasn't yet been realized so this math might not be all that reliable.
  18. Hey, not too shabby at all! The Adult Swim line-up also returned from a holiday week off, and performed as follows: DRAGON BALL at 0.50/0.40, MY HERO ACADEMIA at 0.29/608K, FLCL: PROGRESSIVE at 0.29, JOJO’S BIZARRE ADVENTURE at 0.21, HUNTER X HUNTER at 0.21/492K, BLACK CLOVER at 0.20/471K, NARUTO at 0.18/439K, SPACE DANDY at 0.15/391K, COWBOY BEBOP at 0.15/352K, and LUPIN THE 3RD at 0.16/368K. How long has it been since everything has been over 350K? March 24th! That was 5th for 2018, and this average is a tie for 6th: 6/2/18 - Total Viewers Show Viewers Retention Family Guy DBS 1,073,000 #DIV/0! DBZKFC 845,000 78.75% MHA 608,000 71.95% FLCL 580,000 95.39% JoJo 480,000 82.76% HxH 492,000 102.50% B. Clover 471,000 95.73% Shippuden 439,000 93.21% Dandy 391,000 89.07% Bebop 352,000 90.03% GITS 368,000 104.55% AVERAGE 554,455 6th Lupin is really getting its mettle tested as an anchor show! It seemed to function as one when it was premiering at 1:30 AM and now it may effectively serve the same purpose at 3:30 AM!
  19. Ok, so it DID improve a bit from what JoJo was doing in that timeslot back in April in both female demographics. On April 28, it got a 0.17 in F18-49 and a 0.18 in F12-34. It's a far cry from the "Toonami Signature" mini-block of 2015 which featured high ratings for female demographics, especially from 12:30-2 AM (with Kill la Kill or Akame ga Kill!, followed by SAO2 or Michiko & Hatchin, followed by InuYasha: The Final Act or SAO2), but it IS an improvement... ...or is it? Going back further, it actually tied the 4/7/18 JoJo, and the 4/14/18 JoJo actually beat it in F12-34 (0.27). So the improvement might be more random fluctuation than anything. I had high hopes for FLCL2, but it seems it's not gonna do better at Midnight.
  20. Well, I'm afraid this doesn't exactly inspire confidence: http://www.showbuzzdaily.com/articles/showbuzzdailys-top-150-saturday-cable-originals-network-finals-6-2-2018.html Just 580K at Midnight for a World-Premiere episode of FLCL with NO repeats!? Sure, it did decent in target demos, placing 9th in 18-49, 5th in 18-34, and 4th in Male 12-34, but I gotta tell ya I was expecting quite a bit better from it, considering what a ratings powerhouse the original probably was when it premiered back in 2003. Just 95K greater than the last episode of the original seems to be a little underperforming to me. But Dragon Ball Super continues to do DAMN good! I'll bet they'll decide to give the last 2 episodes of Progressive the rub by slotting them at 11 PM after DBZ Kai ends. That might be the only way to get a positive return on investment out of the NBA Game 7 ad and the billboards. But then again, in 18-34, that isn't half bad for FLCL Progressive. In fact, you have to go back to 10/21/17 to find anything higher in that timeslot. Adults 18-34 Rating Estimate Retention 0.60 408,000 N/A 0.48 326,000 80.00% 0.41 279,000 85.42% 0.30 204,000 73.17%
  21. Dragonball has ALREADY been transformed into a sweeping multiverse, partially by the Cell Saga of Z, and then Super finished the job! Now anyone's DB fanfics are plausibly canonical because the show uses the multiverse theory of time travel and contains parallel universes!
  22. What do you mean HBO Gundam? Like live-action Gundam on HBO? That would be at least as cool as Pacific Rim... And yeah, if we're indeed getting Narrative, might as well give Unicorn another spin, maybe replacing Space Dandy? I know what you're thinking: Not enough weeks if it's a 2-year deal like IBO. Well, to remedy that, we could have the first 11 play from August to November, and then the last 11 get a marathon on Thanksgiving or something. OR, follow me here, assuming Toonami's not expanding again, maybe first 11 marathon Christmas, last 11 marathon New Year's, and then Narrative premieres on 1/5/19?
  23. Gundam week is now over--Samurai Champloo week has begun! It looks like it's gonna be #11-#15 until Friday night, and #16-#20 after that until next Monday. So y'all enjoy!
  24. You must not be watching the Marathon stream then. Two weeks ago the stream was having JoJo week, and episodes 26-35 of Stardust Crusaders streamed (26-30 Monday-Friday, then 31-35 over the weekend through Monday night). Iggy's stand is clearly visible in 26.
