  9. Episode #49: McGillis Fareed The Penultimate Episode!! And Mika is CLEARLY a feral dog without a master. This won't end well... Only Toonami!!
  10. Last week, we were treated to one of the WEIRDEST episodes of JoJo yet. But how will Polnareff get out of THIS mess? Find out tonight (4/21/18) at Midnight! ONLY TOONAMI!
  11. MHA's dub isn't on Netflix, it's HULU which was the issue. Apparently, the exclusivity contract ran out on Season 1? That's just my guess. I mean, they got 3 seasons, so maybe there never was an exclusivity contract? These deals are all so damn complicated, we fans are remiss to even guess. However, I think it can be summed up in one sentence: "The possible happens right away; the impossible just takes a little longer!"
  12. Come to think of it, I wouldn't mind an all-premiere 10 PM-2 AM block that encores from 2-6 AM! Considering we lost the online block stream, it seems to me it would be apropos. Only problem is, what the hell do you do for spring forward and fall back? I'd say for spring-forward, play 3 hours from 10 PM-1 AM, pre-empt the last normal hour for a no-repeat hour special at 2 AM, then finish the night with a repeat of 10 PM-1 AM from 3-6 AM. Then for fall back, simply air a no-repeat special in the bonus 2 AM hour.
  13. If you ask me, JoJo should be at 12, HxH at 12:30, BC at 1, and FLCL at 1:30. And of course, FLCL Progressive should be pushed to June 23 or 30 and replace DBZ KFC at 11 PM while another classic takes over at 1:30 on June 2nd. FLCL being back on the block leading-in to Progressive makes sense, but having it air at 11:30 or even Midnight might be a tall order. I have a theory that the original plan was to have MHA replace DBZ KFC, but because FLCL was underperforming, it got moved up. If I'm right, then it could even get 11 PM after DBZ KFC ends.
  14. Nice little editorial piece about this phenomenon... http://toonamifaithful.com/toonamis-hero-academia-will-finally-happen/
  15. Yeah really. That should have had a seizure warning...
  16. I'm not really sure I dig the fact that a show Toonami picked up that is only 2.5 hours behind Japan will be the 7th show on the lineup at 1:30 AM! I get that since it wasn't a dub premiere, 11:30 might have been a bit ambitious for it, but BEHIND Hunter x Hunter? Really?? Then again, since that IS a dub premiere, ahead of BC and together with JoJo is about right for it, I guess... Hopefully the show that replaces DBZ KFC WILL be a dub premiere!
  17. What's interesting is that if MHA has a Season 4, and it comes out in October 2019, it COULD still come out as a speedy dub, placing it among the likes of Space Dandy, Dimension W, Attack on Titan, and Black Clover. Sure it's not even a dub premiere now, but someday it COULD be...
  18. Hmmm, you may be right; I guess we'll see. But MHA is one of those shows that seems to be "Evergreen". Will it do well in the ratings, though? Only time will tell...
  19. Now that MHA has been announced for 11:30, the question is, how long will it stay there? I'm expecting this to do at least DBZ KFC level in the ratings, especially since it will be directly following it. It does kinda suck for FLCL Progressive, however, if it's been demoted to Midnight. So I'm kinda hoping MHA makes enough of a splash during May sweeps for early June to look like this: 10:30 Dragon Ball Super 11 PM My Hero Academia 11:30 FLCL Progressive 12 AM Lame-duck DBZ KFC Then of course, the next new show, which might be a deviation from Toonami norms, replaces KFC at Midnight on 6/30 or something like that. If it's AOT S3, maybe we get that after some specials, but I guess at this point it's more likely to replace FLCL Progressive on 7/21, on a par with its release schedule last year. Another X-Factor is what they will do with that slot which GITS 2nd Gig is vacating. Hopefully it's a classic of some sort.
  20. Well, it isn't Re:Zero, but it IS something that has been a glaring omission from Toonami for a while now... NONE OTHER THAN THE ALL-MIGHTY... Also note that Black Clover got demoted AGAIN!
  21. Cinco De Mayo is now Cinco De HERO!!!! Bout damn time, Toonami. Proving once again the possible happens right away; the impossible just takes a little longer. And yes, this means JoJo falls to 12:30. I'm quite alright with that. But I also daresay that there is a chance that once DBZ Kai ends, this moves up a notch to take its timeslot. This certainly deserves to be the #3 show on the block, but also most likely the #2 show when the time comes! So here's my scorecard: SUPER Psyched My Hero Academia Will Confuse People (Re:Zero? Star Blazers?? PTE???) Right-In-The-Pocket (AoTS3? Boruto?? G Gundam???)
  22. I don't think they could drop the 10:30 DBS without also bringing back the 8 PM sneak peek, and just what the hell would the point of that be for a week or two? I think it's a lot more likely they'll double up Super, but even THAT could be problematic. Maybe this time they could play Intruder II? And AoTS3 CAN'T air one episode before a marathon; it wouldn't be ready yet on June 30, unless you're going off the fact that it's already July in Japan by then. Don't even know how in the hell that would work anyway. I guess kinda like Space Dandy. Besides, we don't even know what day of the week AoTS3 will premiere in Japan. In what timeslot did AoTS2 air in Japan?
  23. But 0.06 in 18-34 and 0.04 in 18-49 ain't exactly "barely". That's a pretty considerable difference, like 40K on both counts. Yes, it did just edge it out in total viewers, though.
