My thoughts exactly. If SAO is the quintessential "isekai", the parts which make it more "isekai" than others are the first arc (Aincrad) and the current arc (Alicization). Though one thing that makes SAO unique is its reliance on activities both in the "real" world, which is more of a slice-of-life, and the virtual world, which is definitely shonen action-oriented.
