Hopefully 88 will follow next week so that Toonami can wrap up MHA before the 4th of July. But if not, I guess that means we'll get it on July 11th because playing the season finale on Independence Day is just plain stupid!

Yeah, that could be it. It would make perfect sense that the game tied up the actors and actresses, especially if it had a deadline they still had to meet. Still, it sucks that the dub of MHA essentially got the same treatment as The Walking Dead--did you know there's STILL one more episode left in the 10th season??

Getting back on Toonami's ratings and away from Toonami's shitty neo-fascist competitors, thanks to MHA, this block as a whole did slightly better than last week, at least judging from what we know so far. But I guess we won't know until Ballmastrz 9009's numbers come in. Mob Psycho 100 STILL hasn't done what it did in week 1 through FOUR more episodes and beat its premiere in total viewers; however in 18-49, it actually HAS done that 3 out of the 4 weeks so far. As for week 5, it's pretty clear at this point it missed, but hey, 3 out of 5 ain't bad! Premieres--who needs 'em? As long as Toonami keeps the packaging fresh, not really! But this is a hilariously stark contrast to 2019, where they left the packaging downright stale but aired 2 reruns the entire summer!

However, unlike then, 3.5 hours are actually outside of it, while only 2.5 hours are within! MHA actually didn't do that bad, but too bad all we had to follow it was the disappointing Paranoia Agent, which SHOULD have stayed at 1 AM.

So we FINALLY got ratings from the LAST SATURDAY OF MAY (5/30)! Looks like they came out last Saturday evening--go figure! It just occurred to me that this would have been the thread on which to talk about Harley Quinn on Syfy. Don't know why I didn't. And I think Syfy has already lost the rights to it. It was apparently like a limited 1-month deal or something.

What do you do when My Hero Academia is 86'ed? Why, you rerun episode 86! And I haven't heard a peep from FUNimation about 87, so I guess next week we just might get 86 AGAIN!!! Honestly, though, at this point I feel it might be better for Toonami to mix-it up and give one of those episodes that is currently airing on weekdays and Saturday mornings at 5:30 A threepeat or even 4-peat in the lead timeslot. Perhaps it could be the result of a vote? If they're looking to leave MHA at midnight for the long haul, might be the best way to do it. Of course I feel at some point they'll drag Dragon Ball Super back out of the vault, though hopefully not the beginning. That kinda bombed at 8:30 PM on Saturday nights at the beginning of the year, though at this point when the networks are all on "survival" mode, it's difficult to even know just what a "bomb" is anymore. But maybe FUNimation actually does something nice for Toonami for once and lets them have 87 FIRST next week, then debuts both 87 and 88 streaming to finish the series next Sunday. There is a general feeling that they belong together and that would certainly be interesting.

Well, that's interesting. Apparently this week only, it's been replaced with reruns of Live Rescue. But since Toonami doesn't have any premieres left to speak of, since for some dumb reason they haven't considered Black Clover to be one since it got dropped from its original 11:30 timeslot to midblock hell, it's like Alanis Morrissette's "Ironic". I wonder if they would use an upcoming hiatus in Black Clover's run to return it to prime position once it DOES return. That might not be a bad idea.

Or rather HAD the sequel series also airing. It got through episode 64 and then stopped. But Shippuden's run has persisted on Toonami at the glacial pace of one episode a week ever since 2014! You have to admire that kind of dedication considering what the franchise has been through on U.S. TV!
