I don't think it would have had as great an effect as most people think it would. Keep in mind that most VAs are already working remotely. It kinda depends on emergency disaster aid, but it's theoretically possible that if that worst-case scenario would have happened, most VAs would have simply moved to another state temporarily to do their recording. But it IS indeed possible that AOT and BC have to go off the air for a while (Fire Force was a simuldub so it's pretty much through) at some point. I guess Toonami will just have to cross that bridge when they come to it. Reruns of AOT in the 12:30 AM timeslot is far from ideal, but they've done worse before.

That's pretty good, I guess! DBS finally cracks 400K total viewers for the first time in 2021! February so far has been quite a bit kinder to Toonami than January was!

If you were looking for ratings news, you'll apparently have to wait another day, at least: Ratings Delays Due to Presidents Day Holiday | Showbuzz Daily It says "Wednesday Feb 18 by 8 AM". Not sure if that's supposed to be "Wednesday Feb 17" or "Thursday Feb 18". I guess we'll see!

And that's why key to Toonami's survival is its own original shows. Even Cosmo Samurai, Toonami's first real original animation in 2021 (unless you count the bumps) seems to be having that effect on the ratings. We don't know how Dragon Ball Super did in 18-34, but the episode of AOT that followed is the ONLY known show to crack 0.2 in Adults 18-34 this year! I say "seems to" only because its actual effect is still somewhat inconclusive with only one data point. We'll have half the data by tomorrow, though!
