  1. We really don't know, because [as] Toonami has, believe it or not, NEVER been on 1/1 before. The last time New Year's Eve happened on a Friday and New Year's Day on a Saturday was 2010-11, and Toonami was off the air then. However, what we DO know is on 1/1/11, [as] DID air premieres of Bleach and Kekkaishi: https://sites.google.com/site/swimpediaiscoming/adult-swim-schedules/2011 So, apparently Toonami doing something similar on 1/1/22 is NOT off the table. CN, in fact, is premiering 10 Episodes of We Bare Baby Bears! I would expect Toonami to follow suit by airing a normal lineup with multiple premieres!
  2. Kiss my nuts. Enjoy that upside-down heart I just gave you, which is in fact as the "❤" symbol was not intended to be the blood-pumping organ in our chests but an upside-down pair of testicles, at least according to Cracked.
  3. They've done something like that before. Dragon Ball Super, DBZ Kai Final Chapters, and Gundam Unicorn all debuted on 1/7/17. They could choose to do something similar for 1/1/22 or 1/8/22.
  4. They're not "rushing to finish Yashahime." It's ending right on time as the final episode will be acquired. My theory, that they can only air one episode of certain shows a week, but can either choose to air that episode on the date it was originally scheduled or at a later date, seems to be correct. It might even be more explicitly stated that they "acquire" them by the episode, one episode a week. Here's the effect that had/will have on Yashahime, though I have posted something similar it in another thread on here. Episodes 1-15: Acquired and aired on consecutive weeks from 6/26 to 10/9. Episode 16: Acquired on 10/16 but not aired due to Batman Ninja/Red Hood; aired 11/6 instead. Episode 17: Acquired on 10/23 but not aired due to Batman: Long Halloween; aired 11/13 instead. Episode 18: Acquired on 10/30 but not aired due to Fena marathon; aired 11/20 instead. Episode 19: Acquired on 11/6 but not aired due to Episode 16; aired 11/20 instead. Episode 20: Acquired on 11/13 but not aired due to Episode 17; aired 11/27 instead. Episode 21: Acquired on 11/20 but not aired due to Episodes 18 & 19; aired 11/27 instead. Episode 22: Acquired on 11/27 but not aired due to Episodes 20 & 21; still unaired. Episode 23: Will be acquired on 12/4 Episode 24: Will be acquired on 12/11 So, by airing 22-24 back-to-back-to-back, they'll essentially be clearing out their backlog of acquired episodes, as well as airing the episode they acquired that day. I don't have any problem with this, because the show has aired in all 3 timeslots at some point during its run. The week that Fena had an hour-long premiere, Yashahime aired at 1:30 AM. That was Episode 8, BTW. It almost makes sense that Episode 24 is in the same timeslot. BTW, they have done this sort of thing before. Remember SAO Alicization? Episode 6 aired on 3/16/19, but glitched. They re-aired it with no glitch on 3/23, but they apparently also acquired Episode 7 that day. The following week (3/30), Episodes 7 & 8 aired. But then Toonami apparently had to put in an audible to Aniplex to be able to air both 9 & 10 together on 4/6 to be able to air those two episodes together, with 10 airing a little ahead of schedule, so why couldn't they do that with Yashahime this year in order for it to air on 12/4? Different contracts written differently, I guess.
  5. I don't think we'll get AOT FInal Season Part 2 in January. I believe it will probably replace Blade Runner in Mid-February instead. Demon Slayer? Beats the hell out of me. We waited 6 months for the first season to premiere. We'll get it in Early 2022, but that may mean April.
  6. Maybe the premiere of Season 2? Perhaps THAT?? Perhaps Food Wars 5th Plate??? Ass Class Season 2???? Freakin' gen:LOCK?!?! I mean, use your imagination! Would you rather have seen a rerun marathon on Dec. 11? Between Blade Runner: Black Lotus, Yashahime, and Animatrix, December is turning out to be a Month of Movies AND Marathons!!
  7. Just saying it probably won't screw with production schedules, but theaters won't be full again for a while. 🤷🏻‍♂️
  8. We'll see what the Omicron variant has to say about that...
  9. Deets: Some questions do abound, such as which episode of Dr. Stone airs at 3 AM on 12/11? Are they just gonna restart Season 2 from the beginning? Or is something else airing in that timeslot? (C'MON, Toonami, at least finish up Ballmastrz or something!)
  10. Well, folks, the numbers are finally in, and the lead-in combo of double Hank and quadruple Stan led to BIG improvement for Toonami! https://showbuzzdaily.com/articles/showbuzzdailys-saturday-11-27-2021-top-150-cable-originals-network-finals.html Only 2 AM Shippuden didn't make the Top 50, as it landed at #56 with 143K and a 0.08 in Adults 18-49. Only it also didn't beat the "BUTT Bowl" in Adults 18-49, which checked in at #50. BRBL and Yashahime's definitive female flair seems to be shining through, taking a page from Toonami's 2015 playbook, as Female 12-34 apparently outpaced their Male counterparts by 33-50% on a scaled-by-share basis.
  11. @Sketch, do you remember what led in to Blade Runner: Black Out 2022 on Friday night at 10:30/10:45 PM?
  12. Did I mention "Toonami?" This would be pre-Toonami [as], a 1-hour digest of highlights from AEW Elevation/Dark matches, with topicals from upcoming Toonami shows sprinkled in.
  13. Black Friday was pretty much a bust for Toonami: https://showbuzzdaily.com/articles/showbuzzdailys-friday-11-26-2021-top-150-cable-originals-network-finals.html Nothing in the top 50. Black Out 2022 checked in at #66 with 199K viewers and 0.09 in 18-49. Blade Runner 2049 even missed the Top 100: unlucky #108 with 142K and a 0.06 in 18-49. It should be noted, however, that was from 11:15 PM-3 AM so it's kind of on a par with how Toonami and other Friday night marathons have been doing lately, but 11 PM and Midnight hour numbers are typically quite a bit higher.
  14. They can get Jason DeMarco and Gill Austin to be the announcers on a new AEW/Toonami crossover show which alternates in-ring action with previews of upcoming Toonami shows! AEW: Toonami Pre-Flight! [LMAO]
  15. If you ask me, AEW SHOULD have a show on [as]. It isn't like anything [as] is showing is getting the ratings these days, and AEW, which DOES get the ratings, has a whole bunch of shows that are only airing on YouTube. But as for the thread's main topic, here's my stab: 1/1 (or 1/8) 12 AM Blade Runner: Black Lotus Episode 8 12:30 Yashahime The Second Act Episode 1 1 AM Food Wars The Fifth Plate Episode 1 1:30 Assassination Classrom (Season 2) Episode 23 2 AM Naruto Shippuden 2:30 Fena: Pirate Princess 3 AM My Hero Academia Season 5 3:30 Dragon Ball Super [suck on that]
  16. Please don't screw it up and lose THIS one to Netflix, Toonami!!
  17. Come to think of it, a marathon containing that MHA Christmas episode wouldn't be a bad idea. Maybe they can go bonkers and acquire a bunch of Christmas episodes of different anime series they've aired over the years if they cross-promote their projects adequately a la 4/1/12? For example, there is the Dr. Stone Christmas episode, I believe from Season 1? And the SAO Christmas episode, which had a sad ending, but it fits. Maybe get with Sentai and play Big O's Daemonseed episode (#11)? And of course for a late-night holiday thrill there is ALWAYS Gundam Wing: Endless Waltz! There might be a few others that would work... They should go all out with it and give T.O.M. a Santa hat and put reindeer antlers on S.A.R.A., calling it A Very Toonami Christmas! The only problem is that would be the 25th after midnight, technically the 26th, so maybe table that idea until next year?
  18. At some point, we're pretty much destined to see a marathon of 3 Yashahime premieres. But the question now is what will they do with the timeslot Dr. Stone is finishing up in on December 5th? Looks like aside from Blade Runner: Black Lotus and Shippuden, they don't have any durable premieres, so they might just do marathons after that on the 18th and 25th, so I doubt that we'll see much else. OR they COULD split up they last remaining Yashahimes at 12:30 between the 11th, the 18th, and January 1st, follow that with Shippuden at 1, and play nothing but mini-marathons after that. It will certainly be interesting to see how they handle this. Maybe, just maybe, WB will throw them a bone and let them re-air the Animatrix on the 18th right after Blade Runner if they marathon Yashahime on the 11th. The problem is: what the hell do you do with the 3 AM hour? We won't have Dr. Stone anymore, and it would be weird to replace that with MHA Season 5 but that might be an option...
  19. Let's not pretend that it's not just as prevalent on the comedy side of [as] as well. Jokes about rape abounded especially in the late 2000's, as we see here on Tim and Eric when Tim proudly humorously proclaims "Eric will RAPE YA!"
  20. Why can't Dragon Ball Super get new bumps? Or even repurpose the older ones with the new graphics?? It's ridiculous for 1st time viewers of this show, if there even ARE any at this point, to be seeing events which don't happen until like 90 episodes later out of context! I suppose there are people who work late shifts and then go home to catch DBS at 3:30 AM, and it might even be finding a new audience in its current timeslot. Airing these old bumpers is just irresponsible!
  21. Nice Soccer reference there, Champa!
  22. Still awake for this one this week, so let's do this, I guess!
  23. Such an epic tag team! But Tsukasa is still fatally wounded--or is he?? His fate shall be revealed in the next episode! https://www.animenewsnetwork.com/review/dr-stone-stone-wars/episode-10/.170816 Seriously!? Rating this episode only 4 stars out of 5 seems like an insult! This was damn near perfect!
