So, Toonami's feeling like a shadow of itself these days, so here's a picture of shirt from Daylight Curfew that I overwashed that seems appropriate for the current state of Toonami: 1 AM tonight (4/29-30/23), finally something new on Toonami!

Pop Team Epic was the last diverse program choice? Food Wars! says "Hi". And we DID make it more than 6 months before Naruto returned. But just barely.

Hellsing Ultimate kinda was the first show to make a statement like that. Though it was kinda hit-or-miss in the ratings, almost 900K at 3 AM was nothing to sneeze at!

Or, heaven forbid, actually give one of their other shows they paid good money for a replay?

I don't expect Primal to be there for long. In fact, depending on when it's announced, it just might be a placeholder on the 5/13 schedule...

Realistically, here's how I think this may go: 4/29 (Saturday) - Toonami lineup airs as is with Primal hour leading the block. 5/2 (Tuesday) - Ratings come out and it's discovered that Primal tanked the lineup. 5/3 (Wednesday) - Toonami gets the green light not only to air the new show, but to premiere it 5/13 and replaces Primal with it at 12:30. 5/6 (Saturday) - Toonami lineup airs as-is with an hour of Unicorn Warriors Eternal (UWE) leading the block, and no Primal. 5/9 (Tuesday) - Ratings come out and Toonami improves but not by much. DeMarco and [as] freak out and swap the new show and UWE, then release the updated lineup on Facebook. 5/13 (Saturday) - New show at 12, UWE at 12:30, rest of the lineup as announced previously. [we can only hope]

I sure hope not. We're down to 2 hours of anime weekly as it is.

Seems like a law of the Zaslav reign of terror WBD era. At least they haven't thrown up a 20th Anniversary remaster of Reign The Conqueror...

10PM or 11PM would be better, especially if Toonami is able to grab the next season of Dragon Ball Super. That would be at 11PM for sure!

Believe it or not, I actually welcome this idea. Better that than a 6-hour Comedy lead-in.

I really should lock this thread due to off-the charts levels of incoherence and stupidity... But then again, I think it serves as quite the apropos non-sequitur! Toonami may not be canceled, but it's officially now such a pale shadow of its former self that one can be nostalgic for the post-Toonami dark ages of Code Geass at 5 AM and Moribito at 5:30. I mean, REALLY.

I never thought I would see the day Toonami is still on the air and yet things are worse than 2008. TWO HOURS of anime on [as] per week. That's ALL WE HAVE anymore. Screw you, streaming monopolies. Here's to the glory days!

Another Summer of Genndy... At least MHA is getting a rerun--that's a good move. And I really hope that May 13th 12:30 timeslot is at least a little flexible. PRIMAL needs to go the way of the dinosaur, but we both know it's gonna be relegated to 3 AM, worst-case scenario.

Hopefully we can get back to 4 hours a week? To be somewhat fair, there is anime elsewhere on cable TV: Disney XD still airs Beyblade and Yu-Gi-Oh. However, ADULT anime? Pretty much just Toonami and, once in a blue moon, TCM.
