so, with how many of these other side projects do you throw your out-of-pocket costs in peoples' faces? or is it just us?
-
so this server is costing you the $1xx/mo altogether?
-
aha, one of those deals. what else happens on that server? i mean, besides this place.
-
so you're dedicating a server somewhere, just for this fucking place? and you meter the consumption, expense out the hw/sw, and personally charge up your time?
-
i'm just trying to understand. hosting is generally something you pay for, which means you don't actually host shit yourself. unless he's using the term loosely, like he "owns" server space with the host. still not the same as personally hosting shit though.
-
so you host it, like personally? and it's still costing you enough money to brag about it?

house has sat empty since july. not a soul has taken a look. so i found tenants on tuesday last week. before i could get a signed lease back on wednesday, fucking realtor booked a showing for friday. so i put the tenants on hold for a couple days while the showing happens, giving buyer until today to make an offer. no offer, i'm signing the lease and securing it for the tenants for 6 months. so i call realtor to see what's up. he tells me buyer wants to get another look at it "in a few days". fuck you buyer, you know you're on a timeline, don't be a dick. if i didn't reeeeeeeeeeally want to sell that house, i'd have told him to eat shit right then. also, tenants need to move in this week because their current lease expires on saturday. if i fuck around too long on them, they'll find something else. then with my luck, the buyer will walk, and i'll be double fucked.

it will likely need a few rounds of updates to smooth out, esp if it's been sitting since xmas.

win10 is fine. but this is coming from a guy who molded vista into a satisfactory os, so my definition of fine is probably skewed to the nerd side. i use win10 on my big laptop for graphic/app design and some "dj" stuff (read: playlists), and then sometimes at the day job when i need a mobile workstation. as far as having to move passwords to the new pc, use a browser that does it for you, or get a dropbox or something. i let chrome save my passwords and have never had an issue. i've also migrated most of my document stuff to google drive, which doesn't require saving or sending to other devices because it's all "in the cloud" (i used to love using that phrase but lately meh). i can create on the work desktop, throw in an edit from my phone or chromebook while i'm out, and pick it back up at home later.

sailor jerry's sauce is the best, rite?

i thought the halloween drink of choice was chilled jager with pumpkin spice and razor blades. i need to update my charts.

they'll probably just send it up to HR and let them deal with it. they'll know who you are up there. not sure your union daddy can save you from that mess.

i didn't mind the after school chores so much. got to take the 4-wheeler out into the woods to round up the cows and bring them back to the barn, so that was nice. but not at 5am, getting fucking soaked from the dew or freezing the asshole right off in the cold months. most everything else i did was inside the barns for daily chores, and it wasn't bad. getting kicked / pinned / stepped on by the cows was less than fun though.

got an extra day off out of the deal. also, bonus time is right around the corner. gotta make it look good for the next few weeks.
-
i was never that good any any of it, but the more school stuff i did, the better it looked on those college apps. turns out that was not a wasted effort, awesome. also, if i wasn't in practice before and after school, i had to milk cows on the family dairy farm. plus plus.

i played basketball from jr-high thru high school, again, because the school was small and anyone who wanted to play, got to. golf too, in hs. and band and chrous for a couple years, just for kicks. and i wonder why people thought i was a nerd back then (and still do today).

i'm in the drive-up booth at the bank. i offered to fill a gap in staff this morning, like a fucking idiot. i hate myself right now.
-
we all know this. it changes nothing.

our school was small. so small, in fact, that anyone who wanted to be a cheerleader was automatically on the squad. no tryouts, not standards. just a bunch of non-athletic high school girls all trying to be at the top of the pyramid.

he would have, if he didn't realize you could get the same effect for a lot less by using several layers of cling wrap.

you know that sound that a shitty sub install in a car trunk makes? where instead of boom, you hear bzzzzz? that's packie's entire tin shed house right now.
-
i call shenanigans. he's too prone to abusing his electronics in a fit of orgasmic pleaseure than to still have a crt monitor. he'd have busted that shit right out by now.
-
a quality 12" sub is easily worth twice as much as this piece of shit. and by piece of shit, i mean packard, not just the piece of shit he just bought.
