this mattress here is the version that I got, https://purple.com/mattresses/hybrid With my old mattress before it, damn near every day I was waking up with back pains, those back pains would follow me around much of the day. I've owned this mattress for around 5-6 months and I have yet to wake up and have back pain. From what I understand with purple, even their basic version is still considered an improvement, though there's a issue of weight cause apparently if you weigh close to or more than 300 pounds then it's more ideal to get one of their hybrid mattresses. For me though I went for their hybrid mattress cause if I'm gonna spend close to 2 grand on a mattress (It can be financed through Affirm for no APR) I want it to be damn good and last as long as possible.

In my main pc I'm using a ryzen 7 3700x cpu that I have overclocked to 4.2ghz. My graphics card is 2080 Super with 240mm built in water cooler. I'm really getting the itch and the desire to upgrade my system, but I really shouldn't considering what I have is pretty overkill for me, especially since I don't really play a whole lot of super demanding games lately. I'm very much so a tech enthusiast, and even if I won't fully utilize it I take pride in having a strong PC. The pc I use in my living room I mainly use for my Plex server, for most of this year I've only played games on it when I have friends over. It has a 2700x with my old gtx 1070, it can handle 4k somewhat (my tv in there being a 4k one) but it could be much better. What I'm thinking of doing if I upgrade my cpu to a 4th gen ryzen one is relegate my 3700x to that pc. I do consider it one of my all time favorite cpus (right alongside my old i7 4790k), I don't really want to sell it just to later on buy a cpu to upgrade the living room pc. As for the graphics card, I paid like $900 for mine and I sure as hell don't want to be like people online selling their 2080/s/ti's for $300-500 cause of the 3000 series. If I do decide to get a GPU, I'll likely go for a 3080 (since i have a Newegg credit line for up to $1600) and also relegate my 2080 super to that pc as well, then it would handle 4k gaming significantly better than that current setup.

I honestly think there's a strong possibility of AMD blindsiding everyone with big Navi. The current best gaming gpu from them, the 5700 xt has the power of a 2070, it having 40 compute units. In comparison Microsoft has claimed that the upcoming Xbox will have the graphics performance of a 2080 or 2080 ti (don't remember which), that gpu having 52 CUs. When it comes to AMD with big Navi, I highly doubt (unless MS paid them a lot of money) that they would release the best they're capable of for a console launch, especially since the desktop market is where all eyes are. What I'm taking away from this is, if AMD is able to put out a gpu for the next Xbox that competes with a 2080 or 2080 ti, then perhaps they also have something big in store for the PC industry. Realistically though, if I were to upgrade my graphics card unless I want to buy a new monitor I have to stick with Nvidia, even if the AMD turns out to be better. I have a really nice 2560x1440p monitor with g-sync. Nvidia has enabled free sync support with Nvidia gpus, but you're still not able to do G-sync with an AMD gpu.

I didn't get a Ps4 til like 4 years or so after it launched, the likelihood of me getting a Ps5 in the coming years is very unlikely. Depending on what games I might consider it eventually, but considering both Sony and MS are releasing 1st party games of theirs onto PC I have no incentive to get a console.

This here. Another thing to note is again, SLI is dying out even more so. They keep bumping things up each generation. The 900 series cards a 70 card was the minimum, you could still do up to 4 cards. The 1000 cards killed off more than 2. With this generation Nvidia effectively put the penultimate nail in the coffin for SLI by making it where only a 3090 supports SLI, the other cards not having the connector that Nvidia gpus used to have. One of the things DX12 was supposed to do is utilize all gpus in your pc, without the need for SLI or Crossfire but DX12 is still largely hit or miss in whether it works or not. Not sure if games have leveraged that aspect or not.

Back in April I bought a queen sized purple mattress, it being one of the higher price versions. For it and two of their high end pillows I'm paying close to 2 grand, have a little over $700 left for the payments. It is pricey but I really like it, a lot more than my other mattress

So they probably just found life on venus.

Spinning does simulate gravity. Gravity is caused by mass, but spinning an object can simulate it. Best example being spinning something around in a bucket, the earth's gravitational pull is obviously stronger but the spinning effect is still enough to hold the contents down. Same thing applies to those carnival rides where you're spun around and the force of it pushes you against the wall, holding you there even with nothing under your feet. That's what they do in space when they need to simulate gravity. If you were to have a ring shaped dome like object in space, you could have the whole structure keep rotating, it being safe for people to live there in space. -
So they probably just found life on venus.

An asteroid could work if you have it spinning enough to simulate gravity. You'd also be protected from solar activity if you live inside of a big enough asteroid. -

Just saying that it will be possible and viable. Probably won't happen this century, but neither would terraforming Mars. And again, unless there's some way they can increase the gravity and surface pressure on Mars, we'll never be able to live on the surface for long periods of time without suffering major health issues. Our bones weakening being the tip of the iceberg. -

A slight error on my part, it isn't a couple of miles above the surface, it actually being the area between 31 and 38 miles above the surface. But that area of the atmosphere many consider to be a viable spot, the weather ranging from 65c to -20 c. Building a floating city on Venus or terraforming Mars are two things that are likely a couple life times away, but I see the Venus one being more obtainable. Not saying there won't be people living on Mars inside of domes or something, but just saying Venus is just as viable with the right technology. Also with venus, again you won't have to worry about the difference in gravity and pressure that will be the biggest hurdle with living on Mars -

I've said in the past, Venus would be a more viable option than Mars for colonizing. It's closer to us in orbiting distance, the energy required to reach it would be significantly less than to Mars. Mars has too many problems. The northern half has an incredibly weak atmosphere that's incapable of retaining any CO2 or oxygen we'd try to add to it. The planet has no magnetosphere so one good flare from the sun would fuck everything up. The gravity and surface pressure is significantly less than on Earth which will present a ton of medical conditions, something scientists currently living in space have to worry about. When it comes to Venus we'd likely never be able to settle on the surface, in the atmosphere above Venus the temperatures are so much lower even just a couple miles above the surface, the atmosphere of Venus being the closest to being on Earth that you'll find in the solar system. The temperature being safe, and the gravity and pressure on Venus is very similar to Earth's. We'd basically have to live in cloud cities like in star wars. -
The main reason I don't mind dying.
Distinct Lunatic replied to RainyDayJizz#35's topic in Free-For-All
One thing I often consider is the idea that the human cognition plays a role into what happens after death. If lets say an afterlife does exist, if it's because people believe that one does. I watch a ton of videos and documentaries that have talked about quantum mechanics, and how quantum particles behavior can be influenced based on whether or not someone was observing it, having a different outcome based on that. There's that one law that says information in the universe can't be destroyed. Even if something fell into a black hole the current theory is that the information still isn't destroyed, and that a copy of it exists inside of the black hole. When it comes to quantum particles, they say even if you burned a book the information it stored isn't truly gone, that if we some how had the tools to do so, the particles that it was made from could be put back together. And then there's the theory that's growing in acceptance that there's an endless number of universes. Even if heat death were to happen, another universe would eventually take its place. There's this one person I watch online, he's an atheist (and I've seen a few other atheists on other boards repeat the same thing) and he cited Futurama for the way they portrayed that, in the episode where they keep going forward in the future and eventually decide to watch the end of the universe, just for a new, nearly identical one to take it's place. -

When it comes to belief regarding God mine is some degree of the deism and pantheisms beliefs, as for death that I lean very much so toward the buddhist belief and have seen and read a lot that enforces my belief in that. I believe that if someone lived a full life or served their purpose in life, or achieved enlightenment they move on, but if not them it's a cycle of rebirth that happens until you get it right. It's now the understanding that our universe is one of many, if not infinite universes. Over the span of infinity the same variables will repeat themselves, meaning eventually you could be back where you started. -
Will try getting around to it at some point. Busy with work and working on my game when not at work

My mom was adopted, the uncle of mine I have as well, no blood relation. That said though I have/had 4 blood related uncles total, but I haven't met not even a single one of them. My mom has 3 half-brothers, and my real dad's older brother killed himself a couple of years after my sis was born.

You would have a body pillow of a certain 15yo character that died of AIDS. Don't even pretend that you're not a degenerate as well -

Pretty much this. My sis has a full time job at the hospital in our town (not a doctor or a nurse) and she doesn't even make $14 an hour, and yet just for her, my brother in law, and nephew she's paying at least $200-250 a month. My step-dad with his work is paying around the same price for him my mom and their kid. That's just for a family of three, who knows how much families of 4 or 5, or even more have to pay for health coverage. My healthcare is good from what I've been told, but they stopped giving the workers in our union dental coverage over a decade ago. I got lucky back in January cause a wisdom tooth of mine came in at an angle where it isn't impacting anything and I don't need it removed, if I had to get wisdom teeth removed I'd be paying a grand at minimum.

My healthcare is United healthcare. I'm technically considered employed by my city, us being part of a union. Healthcare is provided for us as an individual for free, but if I had people added to it like a spouse or kids I'd have to pay for them. The issues I want to see them aren't anything serious, mostly cosmetic. Something that doesn't require me to see someone about, especially not during this pandemic.

I'm able to get free health coverage from my work place, that said though if I had a spouse or kids I'd have to pay for those. I've been told that our coverage is pretty good but I still avoid using it just cause I don't want to pay the deductibles. There's a few things I would like to see a doctor about but I don't want to spend the money yet.
