SwimOdin Posted December 11, 2024 Posted December 11, 2024 So my cat is about 7 months old, she’s a tuxedo, and she loves me. She might be in love with me. I don’t have experience with a cat that wants to literally put her lips on my lips. She licks my nose, lips, and ears and even nibbles on my ears. Is this normal? She is my sixth cat (as in, in my life; she’s my only current cat), and this is behavior I’ve never seen. Do y’all’s cats do this? 2 Quote
scoobdog Posted December 11, 2024 Posted December 11, 2024 Yeah, that seems perfectly normal. Cats will bond to people in differing degrees. Quote
GuyBeardmane Posted December 11, 2024 Posted December 11, 2024 Katana likes to lick and bite my nose. Some cats just like to be affectionate in different ways. 1 Quote
katt_goddess Posted December 12, 2024 Posted December 12, 2024 That is a form of grooming. Two cats that are friends will clean each others faces so cleaning their favorite hooman is the same thing. I think tuxies are particularly into grooming their hoomans because Potato Bug likes to pull on the hair on the top of my head which I've never had a cat do. She hasn't gone full face licking yet but she does get extra affectionate in the early morning when she wants to be snuggly right in my face. 1 Quote

It's normal for some cats to show this behavior, especially when you take them in as small kittens. 1 Quote
SwimOdin Posted December 15, 2024 Author Posted December 15, 2024 Thanks for all the advice everyone, it’s good to know this is normal behavior. She’s quite a bowling ball. 3 1 Quote
