Like... it's established as a trap for Luffy, and the bait needed to be the fruit... but why the fuck would they actually put up the actual fruit for grabs? It's just... there, easy pickings for their enemy. Why not use a fake? Why not lie and not put anything in the chest? Why not rig it in some way? It just makes absolutely no sense that it was ever a possibility someone would be able to take something that powerful and use it against the family.. I guess maaaybe if there's some long term plan of "hahaha, it was sabotaged all along and now you're going to die in 3 days" or something. But, currently, feels like a very weak plot point. 1

I figured it might have been a fake or empty too, but it wasn't. The game was already rigged to an extent. I'm more annoyed by the trolling by Sugar and Doflamingo and the braindead idiotic citizenry going along with Doflamingo's bird cage plan than anything else. 1
