Can’t believe we actually made it. When this started and people calculated the end date, it seemed impossible. But now we are here, just a few hours away from the final episode.

Need some perspective? When we sat down for the first episode, as well as the world premier of Space Dandy, Obama was still the president. How much things have changed since then.

As the East Coast begins tonight's Toonami broadcast, let me just say this.

I am completely surprised that Naruto somehow aired the entire story on Toonami's airwaves. Sure, there have been some setbacks throughout history, the four-year gap that allowed for Disney X.D. to scoop up the rights being chief among them, but at the end of the day, I'm kinda glad we can send this Hokage out to the tune of "Here Comes the Bride", or whatever the Japanese equivalent is.

On the other hand, even when the Attack on Titan finale ended at the beginning of this year, I still thought this was an impossibility. Now that it's actually going to happen in a few hours, I will send out my own words of parting.

PARTY NO JITSU! FREE RAMEN FOR ALL! BELIEVE IT!

(with apologies to the Japanese seiyuu)

i was about a year into college in 2005 when Naruto premiered. i remember using the computer lab at my school during digital literacy class to read about the dub announcement. George W. Bush was still president. toonami's very first naruto marathon,  i was on a family vacation in florida and i remember my older cousins thinking it was odd that i spent nearly the whole weekend watching a cartoon so intently.

i was in college with Brandy Camel (i that name means anything to anyone) and i remember her excitedly showing me her phone's new ringtone - it was "Wind", naruto's first ending theme. i didn't recognize it because the anime hadn't premiered in america yet and i'd only been reading the manga.

it's been a real ride

Good stuff.

And it's amazing thinking back. I watched the entire thing here on Toonami and also that Disney run. "New" episodes have been such a fixture for some many, many years. Like you said, never thought we'd get the whole run.

Seemed like these three rascals were going to be set up for something, but I don't think they're in Boruto at all.

If you mean Konohamaru and his two friends, I almost forget sometimes too, but I think that's just because Moegi's more adult design is so different from her kid design, but yeah felt like they'd be even bigger than "just" teachers.

Edit: Or was it the three even younger kids?

Yeah those three should have gotten more time.

I was talking about the three NEW rascals Iruka has been dealing with in this arc.  I realize now they'd probably be teenagers compared to Boruto and co, but ain't don't recall them appearing at all.  And what an amazing coincidence all of Naruto's friends had kids at the same time!

Ah ha, gotcha, that makes sense too, I just thought of them when they showed up again for a second. I can't remember if they've shown up either now that you mention it.

I noticed just the other day that an actual ramen place opened up near me. Kind of a cool coincidence that happens just as the final episode is about to be airing. So of course to honor the occasion, I'm gonna check the place out tomorrow and get myself a nice big steaming bowl of ramen and experience for myself hopefully what all the fuss they make in this show is all about.

So, what is Akamaru's lifespan? D:

Wow, Shino is good with kids.

Shikamaru is good with the ladies and doesn't even know it. 🤣

And Sakura all alone.

FUCK Sasuke.

Kakashi in a suit with that mask lmao.
