The first time in many years. Yes, the account I've been using for all that time has been my default setting.

 

While interesting, that's not the point though. I was then greeted by video suggestions that generic users receive. When you first open the app without any direction from your list of ten years worth of previously watched videos.

It's so bright and flashy. Which could be a good thing. But this is not the good kind. It's somehow transparently phony. I'm very aware that the flashiness is intended to attract people, like the light of an anglerfish.

I think it's targeting kids who can't read well enough to use the search bar. Just press what they like and the algorithm sorts it out.

What I've found really weird is whenever I go to the bottom of the Live tab there's just the weirdest animated shit based on, like, Paw Patrol or something, and at the bottom it says "75 Watching".

Ahh yes. At least there's no 3am spirit box callls to xxxtentacion, a blogger faking their girlfriends death, or a couple of femboys with terminal cancer that are now cured by drinking diluted bleach.
