I smell pizza….

Fair enough. I just...I really love extra pepperoni and extra cheese. Still, I'll keep that in mind. Thanks.

Oh yeah, do it up, you'll learn the right balance as you go along. Generally, there's no right and wrong, it's just a matter of too much, doesn't allow the cheese to melt as well as it should, and it makes the pizza soggy and sloppy. (Literally the pizza will fall apart as you eat it kind of deal).

Now if you like soggy and sloppy, go for it.

Plus, it's kind of a cheap comfort food for me

I feel this same way about frozen pizza (which I still love haha).  Grew up eating it because it was cheap/convenient to pick up but I really like it still (it’s more doughy).  There’s probably a comfort element in there too.

I’ll take frozen pizza over delivery most of the time. There’s something sort of nostalgic about it.

LIlkewise. It's like taking a trip down memory lane.

Our go to chain (Nancy's) outlet suddenly closed.  The crew was told the day they closed.  After searching local places (including Giordano's) we've settled on Papa Saverio's.  Very close to the stuff we'd get in the 60s & 70's.

Okay, well for me personally, the best part of a pizza? The crust. Love the toppings and all that, but loved the crust, especially if it's stuffed crust, I could eat that like chips.

I do love a good stuffed crust. But my favorite crust HAS to be deep dish. I love how I can get filled up after eating just a couple slices when it usually takes me more than half a pizza with regular "hand tossed" crust. (Yes, I'm a fat glutton. This has already been established. lol)

Yeah, that's part of why I don't really care for thin crust in small doses, it's not very filling. That and deep dish, when done right is nice and fluffy.

Yes! Oh, My God, yes!

Though I do want to know what our resident Chicagoan @tsar4 has to say. I do know he likes Chicago Tavern pizza, which I've never tried.

Haven't lived in Chicago for going on 20 years.  D'Agostino's (in Wrigleyville) had great thin crust.  Congress Pizza piled on the sausage, but their delivery was haphazard (took them 6 hours after they said it was on it's way).  Connie's was ok, but the sauce was too bitter for my tastes.  Father & Son's was decent.  Bacino's made a mean deep dish, especially when you're walking around sh*tfaced.  Leona's was hit or miss.  Eduardo's wasn't everything it was supposed to be. Same with Uno, Giordano's & Lou Malnati's - a lot of hype.  As I replied above, Papa Saverino's is our new go to.

Forgot Pat's, I think on Sheffield.  Good pizza, but their Turkey Tetrazzini was why I'd go there.

Oh, I didn't realize that. (Or had at least forgotten about that if you had already mentioned that.) That's great to know, man. But I meant which one did you prefer: Chicago Tavern or Deep Dish? (If you absolutely had to have a preference, I mean.)

Tavern.  Deep Dish is not an everyday thing - more a out-of-town friends stopped by to try it.  Or you're drunk on your ass and want something to help soak up the alcohol.

Alright. Fair enough. I'll have to give it a try when I eventually make the trip to the Chicagoland area. (Now that I think about it, you mentioned that you prefered Tavern before in your Uneven Bar thread over in GD. My fault, man.)

Y'all worshipping pizza crusts are gross. If I want pizza crust, I'll just order breadsticks. :P

Thin crust - because I paid for the toppings, not the crust.

Unless it's from Casey's. I think they only do handtossed anyway but their supreme pizza is actually really good and it re-heats perfectly which is a big bonus.

Most places charge for a cup of sauce with the pizza though. If I'm just going for the pizza, that's all I'm getting.

Except Papa Johns which includes a garlic butter immediately but that's for pouring directly on the slice if I think my system will allow it damnit.

Papa John’s garlic butter is orgasmic. :LithiumSmileyLaugh:

I tend to order for groups rather than just myself, so I definitely get a bit of extra sauces and stuff on the side for people. Although I love the people that eat the breadstick and then don't like the crust, I have a few friends like that.

I only order for myself and only rarely. So I tend to look for things that can reheat over a few days. Big crust items tend to not be food the next day but thin crusts usually reheat decently without being grease rafts.

I've been known to eat pizza crust-first sometimes. I blame the invention of stuffed crust pizza for that. (But if you eat the "boring" part first, you can then enjoy the "not boring" part. I don't find any part of a slice of pizza boring; I couldnt' find any other way to describe my mindset regarding eating a slice of pizza "crust first" instead of the normal way, which I do as well.)

Kind of depends with me, sometimes I want the crust first.

Most of the time though...

Dude….Little Caesars is the literal worst.

Sorry, but it’s true. 😛

Nope, the literal worst is Wolfgang Puck's.

It's not necessarily the invention of stuffed crust pizza that makes people eat it backwards, it's more that that's the way Pizza Hut heavily marketed it when they started offering it.

I wasn’t aware that Wolfgang Puck made pizza. That just sounds horrible.

I think I heard he did a long time ago, but I’ve never tried it. Must be a California thing.

Speaking of, I have never had California Pizza Kitchen, the restaurant or the frozen pizza. I wonder how that is?

I remember seeing California Pizza Kitchen on TV one time. It looked….okay. I wouldn’t mind trying it at least once.

Same. There's one in Memorial City Mall on the west side of Houston. I plan on going there someday. Just don't know when that'll be.

xD I'll answer just about any question if I know the answer to it.

(1)  Oh I'm sure you already know the answer to that.  Of course I did.  This is kind of her house after all.  The parts were built in England in 1912 and then shipped to the States in 1915 as a wedding gift to her.  Also she may have kindly made me aware of her presence the first night I slept here, in which case we sort of "live" together.  So yeah I hung up the picture.  Plus I found an old trunk in the attic that had a whole ton of documents and adorable letters and birthday cards from her great grandkids to her so I sort of feel like I got to know them a bit.  The way they wrote back then was so eloquent.  The grandkids were in grade school writing with better vocabulary and grammar than most adults now.

(2) Nah I was just being funny about the music video.  I mean I might take before and after pics but it's all very slow going.  It's like every time I contemplate an improvement a pipe bursts or the foundation in the basement/garage starts to crumble that needs immediate attention.  Actually now that I think about it it's less like living in The Adams Family and more like living in The Money Pit.

Oh...I love my tiny toilet...I have one in what I presume was the water closet (it's under the main staircase)...I think I like it so much because I'm only 5' 1" xD

Aww, that’s actually really sweet that you hung it up.  At my last house, the former owner (only other owner ever) left me her recipe book.  It was super loved and had recipes starred in it.  She was older and was moved to a care facility.  I always wanted to make something from that recipe book in her cute little kitchen (never did tho - ugh life gets too busy).  Still tho, congrats on the house! 🍾

Bummer about the video.  😜  And woohoo!  I’m 5’1” too!

I just found out there are 3 here in Georgia, but they’re all at least a 2-hour drive from where I live.

CPK is good if you’re in the mood for a thin crust.  I guess I take that restaurant for granted (^ from California).

Anyways, Sonic is like that for me. I see the commercials but there isn’t one near me.  I want a slushee!

I’ve always wanted to try Sonic, but I never have. They are literally right up the road from where I live now, and I still haven’t gotten around to it. :LithiumSmileyLaugh:

Next time I head a few hours north (which may be a good while, unfortunately) I might try to check them out.

I’m surprised they’re on the east coast.  It’s a casual dining chain, the kind you’ll find in just about every California airport and mall, so it’s not exactly a thing you travel three hours just to eat.  They do have an extensive collection of exotic pizzas though.

I just assumed by the name that they’re only available in California. I was shocked to find a few locations here in Georgia. But yeah, I really can’t see myself traveling that far just for pizza. It would have to be a side stop on a trip that takes me in that direction for a more legitimate reason. 😂
