Jman
You don’t announce a classic getting a remake in the trade papers and not make a dub, and it looks like whoever was in charge decided to go union.

PokeNirvash
But JYB's not explicitly a union VA - he does work for the licensor formerly known as FUNimation enough that he's not as limited in his scope of roles as, say, Steve Blum or Crispin Freeman - so this could still be a non-union joint. Still, you can't have a Trigun dub without the voice of Vash leading the charge, and it's more than nice to know that Stampede is no exception to that golden rule. Chapinator_X
I’m digging this JYB renaissance with Ichigo & Vash returning.
rpgamer
Finally noticed Hulu has the dub up. Time to give it a go. Animation certainly.. takes some getting used to. Not bad.. but certainly a big departure from the original. Music seems like the bigger miss, tho. Show has a whole different vibe without that steel guitar. Guess they wanted a departure from space western.... Likewise maybe dropped the ball on just dumping so much exposition in episode 1. So much info that worked so much better as a slow reveal.. similarly not keen on letting Vash show off his shooting (even if it is just one bullet) in the first episode. It spoke so much about his character in the original that he didn't fire a single bullet until episode 5. I guess, exposition-wise, it at least does sorta help set up important elements like the Plants, and the planet's predicament, even if the Knives reveal was maybe far too early.. And, maybe just me, or maybe just the passage of time, but it did take a minute to really start to hear that old Vash. Maybe the character's just got a different tone from the original even. Idk.. Just sorta lacking that subtle sense of Vash being/acting like an absolute lunatic goofball.. maybe for the best as episodes go on, will see. Maybe too I just need to take this more in a FMA:Brotherhood-type approach, where they know the original already set the stage, and this is just diving straight into the meat of it.
