American Horror Story: Double Feature Red Tide UPDATE DEATH VALLEY

Anyone watching this?  I’m into it because the location is my favorite place in the world, Provincetown.  It’s fun recognizing places, and seeing what was added to the structures, or removed. 
 

Anyway tonight airs the fourth episode, so I’m guessing this should be wrapping up pretty soon.  All I’ll say is this, if Harry doesn’t die? I’ll be mad. By the laws of horror, he gotta go.

He’s sayin that these two seasons have no connection to any other season however in season 2 Kit’s wife’s name was also “Alma” and they married in Ptown and they’ve touched on vampires and aliens before so I agree with you

also I need Harry to die or lose absolutely everything cuz nothing else will satisfy me

 

Evan in drag was hilarious because of his lip sync performance 😆 I been to Ptown many times and that scene made me wonder if it’s true, does Ptown have straight boys doing drag?  I’m ignorant af cuz I thought that was almost exclusively a gay thing 😬 idk y I thought this. Straight boys do gay porn so why not that?

I’m having a love hate relationship with this season. It’s entertaining and quickly paced but I don’t really like any of the characters, I feel absolutely unsatisfied with the Karen Mickey part of this story and I’m not so sure those that deserve all the bad things will have those things happen to them(next week is the last ep  of red tide) How the drug, unofficially called “the muse” works doesn’t even make sense. The physical changes that the posers go through makes no sense.  The talented having some unspoken control over them makes no sense.  Idk if I’m into this universe enough to let it go, just the shit that makes zero sense to me. I hope it’s explained better. The chemist explained the behavior part, but not the physical stuff.  
idk Belle and Austin are the best parts of the series and they weren’t in this episode much, Belle hardly and Austin not at all. 
I also feel like there should be way more of the pale people walking around even though I have no fuckin clue what they do in the summer when the population jumps from 5k to 105k (exaggeration but hardly it’s like a ridiculous pop jump). These things are just allowed to stroll around town. It’s just really not making any sense to me 😆

other than that it’s great 😆

Yeah, i'm really iffy on this season, i feel like the stories need more than half a season to fledge out. The vampire half doesn't make sense biologically, know its a fantasy, but vampires have already been established in Hotel, so this must occur in one of the other ahs universes.

 

And only 4 eps to tell the whole alien story. The pacing of it will be shit.

 

They had 2 years to write a really good season and they gave us to mediocre seasons smashed together.

Yeaaah, and the whole part of stopping the pills means no more blood craving.

Lily Rabe's character only had one pill and she changed that dramatically...when we saw the chemist with the first untalented goon, I could've sworn they kept giving him pills or told him to take pills every x days to monitor him...and his symptoms seemed to progress until a certain time (and I would assume he took at least a week's worth of pill) that the chemist cut him off and then he proceeded to continue with balding and whatnot. So, why did she change so fast? >_> I was low key hoping she would become the queen of the goons, lmao.

And I also thought the vampire lore part of this season would somehow connect to Hotel >_> 

The Chemist just has a lot of explaining on how she created these pills to begin with, so I 100% agree that this half part is too rushed and is just progressing the story without filling in the gaps.

Watch the chemist's special ingredient is alien blood or some shit and that'll be the connection. 😒

Totally agree with you. Doris changing so quickly, when it took days for that other dude doesn’t make sense. Unless it’s because he was a vegan pacifist?  I definitely felt that Doris lost her senses way too quickly. What I don’t understand is why the goons stay goons but the talented don’t stay murderous if they don’t take the drug.  Austin said once you take it you can’t ever practice your art without it again but that’s about it.

YEAH! The goons should be able to revert back??? I mean, I still will go back to The Chemist and her botched up study...needed more background, like sis, what's the tea.

And she gave these pills for her own experiment, what are the numbers, what are the results??? WHAT WAS THE POINT? Since she turned down Ursula to make it into some kind of profit talent management system.

Ah, yeah I have watched it, it was okay...but I wasn't expecting much from it...reminded me of a Creepshow type format where they do different stories each episode.

Fun for the season if you're bored and looking, lol.

First two episodes are the best with the throwback to Murder House and lesbians. 😆

It seemed so ridiculous that Ursula was the first and ONLY person to ever try and communicate with the goons, and they’re capable of understanding  

I’m just gonna assume Chemist destroyed her military job like she fucked up Ptown and LA  the military muse originally caused talented and untalented to just attack each other  you ate a pill, you’re food.  It’s just gimme a break.  The Chemist has Eli now?  I love how Alma got schooled by that other violinist too bad doing so was bad for his health.  Idk it was fun empty calories head candy.  I didn’t hate it didn’t love it.  Think having a 10 episode season called double feature was gonna be nothing more than 2 rushed disappointing stories 

Death Valley starts Wednesday I hope I’m wrong and it’s a complete story but idk 🤷‍♀️

Those are my 3 favorite as well. I was disappointed that Apocalypse wasn’t better considering coven was so good

Red Tide made a mistake not showing us the meeting between Chemist, Ursula and Alma. I feel like we needed to know what happened did Ursula entice the Chemist by  telling her she can study a child on her drug?  The Chemist did such a fast turn around from not wanting to be greedy to being so fuckin greedy we see her kidnap Eli in a top of the line Rolls Royce with an apocalyptic LA backdrop.  
 

Ursula and the Chemist were a couple, right?  That’s also the impression I got, two snakes that deserve each other.  This is gonna have to be revisited in another season unless they end the show. 
 

I’m kinda tired of Paulson. She’s almost alway playing a constantly crying or screaming character. I don’t think I’d miss her.

So part 2 aired yesterday and I gotta say I’m so disappointed at the stupidity of what the story seems to be that I might not watch it.  It seems like there might be a connection to asylum and that might be the only good part. 
 

I also saw 3 or 4 episodes of the companion series American Horror Stories and they were ok but I would have rather had one perfect season than what he did by giving us several terrible stories. 
 

watch I’ll end up liking the last 4 episodes although it’s hard to imagine 😆

Red Tide finale- garbage, pure garbage.

Harry's death- killing someone right after their positive turnaround has been overplayed on this show.

Alma- she gets caught for killing the other boy right? there's no way that fancy place didnt have cameras to show them leaving together and she sure as fuck didnt drag his body downstairs unnoticed.

the chemist- she got plenty of data from her test subjects in p-town, what were her motives? and now most likely she'll be taken down for ursula's stunt in the film writing class by the cia or whatever black ops she was working for.

ursula- one of the worst ahs characters in the history of the show. she's calling untalented people worthless, someone should've shoved a black pill down her throat.

I know there's a conspiracy theory out there that Eisenhower made a pact with the aliens in exchange for the technology as long as they could experiment on us and make hybrids or whatever.

So I'm assuming that's the basic plot of this shit with the sprinkle of lost people/objects showing up.

I'm a bit salty cuz I wanted a whole ass alien season, I think this will be rushed.

I’m not hating it but the past is the most interesting part of the story and they are dealing with conspiracy theories like Marilyn Monroe was killed cuz JFK had loose lips with his pillow talk. Also the conspiracy that Mew touched on with Eisenhower.

They should end Death Valley where asylum began.  Unless these are different aliens but I think they’re the same aliens even though DV aliens haven’t gotten the hybrid right when in asylum they did (kit’s children looked 💯 human)

I re-watched every season except for Cult. I hated that season, and can't make myself watch it again.

I think this season ranks right up there with seasons I'll never watch again.

I was pleased to see Craig Sheffer back on the screen again. Wasn't expecting that. 

I'm only interested in the black and white scenes. Fuck the modern day story.

I didnt get this. the show opened in 1963, Eisenhower was golfing with Nixon and then they go inform JFK, who then blabs to Marylin, but Monroe died in 1962.

Did they have a scene that went back before '63 and i missed it?

I think they just fucked up unless that’s not Marilyn Monroe but I thought it was. They had a scene before 63 when Eisenhower first heard what the aliens were offering

Why is Mamie all the sudden fucking the alien android representative, and what is val's interest in sex anyway? they already have eisenhower by the balls. And it looks like they got better with the marylin monroe death timeline, but they cut right past jfk's death, with all the conspiracy theories afoot, i thought they'd incorporate that somehow.

the episodes are entertaining enough. I fuckin love Cody Fern and he’s playing an android pretty well.  Mamie Eisenhower is really something else 😆

I loved when the baby went to kill that dude. Now we know why they been killing them immediately. It’s kill it or get killed by it. I wanna know why the hybrid played by Angela Ross?  Why was she allowed to live?  There’s only one episode left I doubt they address that. I guess it’s up to one of the two females to have success.  In the scenes to the next

As much as I love AHS, it does need to end, or at least figure out their shit to make more cohesive seasons. Ryan is distracted with the 1000s of other shows he's making...maybe he needs to end it or pass the torch.

Or take a couple years off like he does with ACS to make a better and more thought out season.

As much as I love AHS, it does need to end, or at least figure out their shit to make more cohesive seasons. Ryan is distracted with the 1000s of other shows he's making...maybe he needs to end it or pass the torch.

Or take a couple years off like he does with ACS to make a better and more thought out season.

The Red Tide was a half assed story that seemed to toot his own creative horn and Death Valley just was too short.  Why was Theta allowed to live as a hybrid but no other

that was total bullshit. Kissinger was a lizard person. Since when are there lizard people? Where did they come from? How long have they been here? What are their intentions? Are they trying to make hybrids too? Nixon was probed, the only redeemable part of the episode. Mamie went to live in Area 51, which had real food back then instead of jello squares.

Of course the white woman birthed the "perfect hybrid". Why do women have to have their babies the normal way when men get painless cesarians? Just doesnt seem fair. And the aliens want to populate earth with hybrids and eliminate the humans, no surprise. Calico seemed the most cold-hearted of them all, why is she all the sudden maternal?

My bf keep asking when the next episode airs, i told him that was it, no more. He can't accept that as an ending.

And where was the link to Red Tide? I kept looking in the background trying to find something, but nothing.

Was there supposed to be a link. I thought there wasn’t. Calico was cold with something’s but she genuinely was taking others under her wing in Area 51 it was hugely disappointing
