I will attempt to watch as much as I can until I pass out. Because that's what i do on Saturdays and that's why I binged 'Black Clover' on Crunchyroll - cuz of the passing out.

I was only able to find these two tweets, and it took me forever since I didn't realize the search button was on the bottom of the screen on mobile.  I barely use Twitter at all most of the time.

I guess not many Toonami viewers that are active on social media are up at this hour.

I could try retweeting it to Demarco or Adult Swim but I'm not sure that will do any good.  I doubt anyone is actually manning any stations and this was probably all set up ahead of time?

This goof-up like this is a bad look for their corporate synergy.

And ironic they just aired that "fatal error" bump.

I just found out the news about JoJo when I tried to find info about this marathon botch.  Very unfortunate.

DC/WB has to be pissed about this...this does not make for a good hbo max promo

My aunt has HBO Max and Peacock, my cousin has Hulu, and we share our cable login and Disney Plus, a strategy I'm sure many families use.  I guess I will go watch the finale on HBO Max, and the first episode, since I didn't know the block was starting so early and missed the first episode.

This was for a special occasion and a special deal probably had to be worked out to put this together.  I doubt Toonami will go out of their way to fix this and even then I don't know how they will do it.

That is a dumb question.  Why would Netflix want to work with Toonami?  They're part of a company that's a direct competitor and plus Netflix doesn't need them.

well they were just being a bit too optimistic because they didn't want to support netflix maybe(for the reasons I'm thinking due to splitting up jojo part 6 potentially in small batches)and Jojo not on toonami at this point feels weird

but demarco made it clear they have a lot of money but toonami doesn't  they literally cannot compete with other streaming services

if netflix throws a bucket of cash at chainsaw man then Toonami can't do anything about that...they just have to hope netflix isn't interested in anything they want

 

and as for the marathon....I Can Imagine DC/WB telling them "We gave you this to air as a promotional event and suddenly we wake up to an ocean of angry fans....what the hell happened?!"

I don't know.  I have been watching TV for decades and Adult Swim/Toonami are the only ones I can think of that keep fucking up airing the wrong episode of things, or cutting things off, or having glitches.  It has happened several times over the years.

The only case with another network I can think of was when CW aired this stupid horse show in place of a Supergirl episode.  And I'm not even sure if that was nation wide.  It may have just been my affiliate.

Overly optimistic but even being realistic.  If Toonami has a limited budget but Netflix doesn't, yeah there is nothing they can do about it, unfortunately.

Yes this was supposed to be a cross promotion which Toonami fucked up in their end.  THEY DUN GOOFED!

also here's another screw up that happened not too long ago...the credits for cartoon network's apple and onion airing in a small window on screen during rick and morty

It Makes you wonder how demarco thinks he and the rest of the toonami crew are going to handle this knowing that at any time netflix could gobble up whatever anime they wanna pick up for the block

they could always aim for less popular shows but they need popular stuff and unfortunately that popular stuff draws the attention of streaming services that wanna scoop it up first

i could see WB/DC being apprehensive about further promotional events if they think Demarco's team couldn't care less if the right episode aired or if the block glitched out while doing hype work for hbo max

Bc he's not in charge of Master Control. They're dealing with everything Turner puts on the air, not just CN.

Also it's most likely not the same person who made the mistake. Aside from usually having multiple people in that department, MCO's such a bottom of the barrel rotating door most people don't stay one (or at least working at a single company) for more than 2 years.

Yeah that is definitely odd.  Those shows never aired back to back or anything did they?  Like going from Cartoon Network to Adult Swim?

Yeah Toonami can get some less popular shows but they still need bigger shows too.

I'm honestly amazed Toonami are still able to get some of the shows they have been getting.  I guess it must be the relationships Demarco and co. have built up over time with these various companies.  Even then, after all this time Toonami aired JoJo and highlighted it, the JoJo people still took the money and ran.  I guess it is a good thing that Funimation is considered somewhat of a competitor to Netflix, and Toonami is chummy with Funimation, or Toonami would be really screwed.

By the way, whatever happened with the Sony and Crunchyroll deal?  I can find no update since late March when it said regulators were looking into whether this deal could pass muster.

I thought it was separate departments for each TV station.  Demarco still defended the person who screwed up though, which he shouldn't have done.

I'm kind of surprised it's not automated, honestly.  Still, that means there is an even bigger issue at Adult Swim and Toonami if they can have these multiple fuck-ups over the years and it's not even the same people doing it.  They must have crappy management and system overall.

Not separate departments. What happens is you usually have one big department and then have people float in between the playlist computers where the individual stations are set up.

When you're dealing with programming like this it can't be 100% automated. Someone has to put the shows in the systems, someone's got to schedule the chyrons, etc. Shit is going to get mislabeled at some point.

I worked as an MCO for a while (not for Turner though). Mistakes are guaranteed regardless of the station.

For the record, unless my brain was filling in the blanks automatically, they forgot to bleep an f-bomb and I almost snorted ice cream through my nose because of it. :D It was one of the points where Harley kept claiming that Batman f-s bats. It was such a quick quip that I think it slipped past the censors unintentionally. But I don't have a DVR or Tivo so it was just me live-watching a Harley Quinn swear festival. :D:D:D

Harley Quinn's voice doesn't sound fitting to me and is quite annoying.  Harley's voice should be higher pitched and more playful.

In the more recent backstory for Harley Quinn that covers her early childhood, her Brooklyn accent wasn't her real voice anyway. She would do it to make her gambler-grifter dad laugh as a bit and she ended up using it after getting kidnapped by the same lowlifes he owed a LOT of money to. The voice was found amusing enough by her kidnappers that they dropped their guards long enough for her to escape. She proceeded to kill each person who had kidnapped her in the closed amusement park they were hiding in and was later able to hunt down and take revenge on the guy that sent them. Even in her original debut in the Animated Series, she starts out with her normal voice as a doctor but slowly slides over to the Brooklyn accent the longer she works with 'Mr. J' because it makes him laugh. So having her drop the accent as she strikes out on her own isn't that far fetched. It basically says she's done catering to him or anyone else and is going to be herself.

The paper on the bottom is there to cover my name. This is from 1993. It's one of the first original pencil and ink sketches of Harley Quinn from DC Comics. I also have a copy of just the penciled version somewhere that shows all the various markings done to note what needs to be done where with the inking which is kind of cool too. It's like having the before and after shots of a panel.
