Oh yeah you are right. The Cloverfield monster isn't so squat and low to the ground, though. And it doesn't have a ton of eyes.

Clearly, the quality is beginning to deteriorate, though to be fair I DID enjoy the part where those men were pursuing the children. Seems like it might just be a pale shadow of the gems the manga gave us. 2 1

The bunker being broken into and the monster destroying them were definitely the horror parts of the episode but they only lasted a few minutes. We get a lot of sweet moments with the children, and a huge chunk spent on hunting and eating the snot fish instead. 1
