CountFrylock
keeping the show as the lead show on the block doesn't help any other show it doesn't help toonami because people who only like db will continue what they do...watch that rerun and then tune out so how is this a smart business move? The1gairon
He always appeared very stubborn. The times he extended beyond the typical fare of Toonami shows were just out of curiosity to see how they would do.
korosu
Jason DeMarco does not make the adult swim schedule. How do you not know this?
PokeNirvash
Can't a man (or woman) rag on Demarco without some other man (or woman) telling him not to? People need to vent sometimes, and I say let 'em vent, no matter how little sense it makes when you really think about it.

Yeah this probably isn’t at least mostly Jason’s decision. AS programming decides the schedule and contracts often dictate when shows can air. AS schedules are a bunch of stubborn nimrods though and Jason will defend anything they do.

mochi
I think it's more that DBZ is the only other anime ubiquitous in the west besides Pokemon so even when people have already seen it and/or hate it, it still pulls in an audience
EmpressAngel
Are people still watching it? Does it pull in ratings on par or better than what comes later? Genuine question, I don't ever look at those.

If Demarco and co. had no influence the scheduling would be even more stupid like it was in the ASA days. The term "scheduling monkies" existed for a reason back then. It seems like Demarco likes to accept credit or pass the buck when it's convenient.
PokeNirvash
Yes, we should be glad the days of "anime premieres at 5AM" are over.
