Naraku4656 Posted September 8, 2020 Posted September 8, 2020 (edited) I HAVE STUFF TO DO, STOP UPDATING Edited September 8, 2020 by Naraku4656
Naraku4656 Posted September 8, 2020 Author Posted September 8, 2020 i finally got on only for another pop up telling me i had 5 minutes before i had to restart for more updates. what the fuck
Codename: Jackass Posted September 8, 2020 Posted September 8, 2020 This is a time where mandatory updates are a bad idea. They should have an option that allows you to say "I am aware of what I'm doing I'll do them at my convenience thanks."
Naraku4656 Posted September 8, 2020 Author Posted September 8, 2020 I finally got back on. @_@. that was a long time to be down for

Sieg67 Posted September 9, 2020 Posted September 9, 2020 That's a long time for updates. You should be able to go into the settings and choose when to update it.

I found it tho. There is a pause button in windows 10. I mean... i unno what's what these days. It still freaks me out how I don't have to defragment my hdd anymore. And people tell me I don't need to restart my computer after installing most things anymore. Idk what to believe
Naraku4656 Posted September 9, 2020 Author Posted September 9, 2020 it's controlled by the company so I can't really. it'll just tell me it has to update. usually doesn't take that long but there was a laundry list of stuff I guess

Not sure. Maybe it just stops updates from starting. idk what I was thinking telling naraku what's what about computers. I know nothing
Sieg67 Posted September 9, 2020 Posted September 9, 2020 I'm not trying to bust your balls. It's just my curiosity.

I know you can manually set the active hours and that's supposed to keep updates from happening when youre working. I feel like m$ might be like nope this update is too critical tho

If it were my own computer then yeah you're right I can set my hours easily. They disable the option on our work laptops so we're at the mercy of Windows

Sieg67 Posted September 9, 2020 Posted September 9, 2020 Amusingly enough, my computer installed an update when I went to shut it down last night.
