as in, are you supposed to see weird lights and shit?

asking for a friend.

sounds like it might be low blood pressure which can be a side effect of ativan so says wikipedia. I'd see shimmery lights and motion trails when I'd take too many performance enhancing pills to perform in my scenes bc they lower blood pressure

Be careful if you take any other medications that also lower bp as the effect combines and can be deadly

Therapeutic or recreational doses?

If therapeutic, no, you're not. Stop taking it and call your doctor.

If recreational, @poof may be right, or, if you're not getting it from an actual pharmacy, it may not be actual Ativan. Stop taking it and hope nothing else happens.

No. You're supposed to be calm and not have seizures. That's the gist of Ativan. Go to the ER.

That’s where I got it.

That sounds right. Lights and motion trails equal low blood flow to the eyes.

And everywhere else in the body so be careful

Short answer: No.

Long answer: If you see lights, or motion trails while on an anti-convulsant like Ativan, it means really bad things. I would say either blood flood is restricted or low to that part of the body (or worse) or brain. It is also a muscle relaxant, so it shouldn't be the cause of things like that, because it is designed to stop/slow some electrical impulses to the brain and body. I would check with your physician about side effects and dosage. That is concerning.
