Try riding a motorcycle with no helmet

I nearly died because some fucking flying tank of a bug hit my face when I was going 45 mph

why in the hell would you do that Molar....bugs would be the last of my worries in that scenario

as many times as i've laid a bike down, I'm not getting on anything with two wheels without a SNELL rated helmet

People ask that constantly!  There is no Helmet law here, and the reason is the same reason Motorcycle insurance is cheap, you don't normally live through an accident with a 2k+ piece of aluminum or steel traveling at 45 mph.

Even with a helmet on you're going to hit the ground traveling at high speeds, even if you "prepare for the fall" flesh hitting a side rail or metal sign at 45 mph, it's not going to end well usually.

That being said, I don't ride anymore but insist on people wearing their seat belts in my vehicle

Everytime I laid a bike down I was going way faster than 45mph and I walked away.....I wear all my gear, helmet law or not...

The only time I got injured is some road rash on my left thigh because I was wearing jeans that day, but my helmet, jacket, and boots kept the rest of me safe...

Unless someone hits you, you lay it down going 45 with full gear on and that's a crash you walk away from....it's crazy to assume the gear makes no difference when Motogp, AMA, and BMRC riders lay it down at over 150mph and manage to walk away

I rode Hogs, Never got into Street Bikes

My Best Friend and his buddy can tell you about going like 150 mph and doing wheelies and shit.   I just enjoyed riding along the lakes and Hills and shit.

I don't mean to sound preachy, it just drives me nuts whenever I hear a squid died because he wasn't wearing gear
