I was walking past a movie theater and it said it was playing Toy Story.

I already saw toy story in 1995

The other two they made were actually really good. It's not often there are two sequels, and both are really good. Actually, the only two instances I can think of are Star Wars and Toy Story. And even Star Wars went and ruined it with the prequels.

Reminds me of when my local theater had "John Wick," "Godzilla," and "X-Men" on the same Marquee last month. It's like the person in charge of putting each movie up there was stuck in 2014.

Well, I know there's a new John Wick movie and a new Godzilla movie out, but I was not aware of a new X-Men movie.

May as well just accept it. Eventually, they'll swap out the OG toys for something else. But this franchise will never die. No one in their right mind would let it die. It's a franchise about literal toys. The merchandise practically makes itself.

Idk, man. Every new movie that comes out means new toys to sell, new clothes, slap that shit on anything and everything. It's like printing money. As long as they can churn out something halfway tolerable, enough to keep the kids invested, they'll keep making profits.

....That's a pretty tall order.

I wouldn't take it as him LITERALLY meaning never.... I think he means something more like The Simpsons.... once the main cast starts dying, then it's over. Although he did say they can just make new toys... but those might not prove as popular as the OG Woody and Buzz Lightyear.

I mean they already pretty much wrote

Spoiler

Woody

out of it and I can't really see a way they'd write it to bring everyone back together. Also Disney has said no more Pixar sequels for awhile after this.

I actually liked the 4th Toy Story though it was kind of unnecessary and I think the 3rd one had a better ending as far as tying everything up nicely.

"for a while" doesn't mean there won't be any more down the line.

And I could've sworn when Toy Story 3 came out they swore it was the last one.

It's like when those huge bands from the 70s and 80s do their 5th "farewell" tour.
