ah.....follow up question....if the old King was concealing the fact that there exists an ocean....and therefor most likely other continents....why wasn't their next plan to see what the king was hiding from, them?

like, how though? until they got ahold of the titan situation, it's not like they could have ventured beyond the walls. ad most of those books have been destroyed, right?

Bertholt dies alone, terrified and in front of the people he betrayed. Fitting.

Yup. They gave you several chances to rejoin them bro. This one's on you.

Erwin regained consciousness, and refused the shot?!

Well look at that, someone that really mattered finally died.  Godspeed, Erwin.

No sympathy from me, Berthold!

55 EPISODES LATER, GRISHA FINALLY LETS US IN ON IT!!

Rating:

Somehow, that feels like it's lowballing it. That was AT LEAST 4.5 STARS!!

Yeah that episode was amazing and gripping as hell having to argue about a huge equally tough choice like that, right after getting put through the ringer.

lol. my cousins were so sure armin was gonna die early on. i had tor struggle to keep a straight face as they mourned him last week

I could have sworn Armin was dead.  It's kind of pushing it for someone to survive after being being burnt to a crisp.

And I remember before Toonami got the first season how fans would always use as a selling point the fact that no one is safe and anyone can die at any time... when there's an obvious group of characters that aren't going to die.  So killing Armin would have actually made this selling point finally true.  But Erwin still died so that was still fulfilled.

But Armin narrated the beginning of Season 1, so that's kind of a big clue that he should survive all this. :)

And like mentioned in the ANN review, Eren also had great points for picking Armin who'd equally earned it

Quote

Eren makes a solid argument too, reminding everyone that Armin was the one who came up with the plan to plug the wall with a boulder back when all this began, that he was the one who discovered Annie's identity (and the existence of enemy Titan Shifters in general), and that Armin was the one who made it possible to discover Reiner and defeat Bertholdt in this battle.

He has to fulfill the promise to see the sea, so they can have the AoT Beach Episode!

THINK OF THE BEACH EPISODE! Levi knows what's up!

Thought this was a pretty great ep for the "no OP trick". I always love big eps that do that (like finales), plus it combined really well with the other huge choice for the ep in that there was pretty much no music for almost the entire time, pretty much all the way up until Armin transforms I think.

Hell, even two days later I'm still remembering the moment where Mikasa's being barely held back and then she gradually breaks down from fighting mode into tears as things keep going, that whole bit was so damned emotional, as was seeing Hange at first holding her back as hard as she can and then as the scene goes on eventually it pretty much transitions into just holding her. Such a well done scene in the episode and Mikasa and Hange's voice actresses did an amazing job with it.

I'm pretty sure Eren, Mikasa and Armin are the only 3 that have plot armor. Everyone else GONNA DIE.
