He still corrected your geography. It is about 12 miles from the current russian border though I believe. Who knows man the Ukraine wants it's shit back..

I mean not really. I would probably fly in to Russia, and also would receive my Jeep at the docks in Russia, before driving to Chernobyl. Now that I am at a PC I can stop being so vague with my posts.

Also it's about 10 miles... or 10 minutes

Bro.. he's bullshitting about the entire thread. He's not trying to go to Russia anyway, so let me stop you Ghostrek before you get banned or something.

He's kind of right though you know Rogue.

From what I read, it doesn't mean the same thing anymore....but if you time traveled back to the 90's.....you'd be shot and your car taken from you xD

Criminals and the whole overworld isn't viewed in the same negative light as it is in the U.S. due to political things.. about the region, but yeah Mix I thought the same.. Also a lot of people my age are nostalgic about the 90's there.. and they might fall into that 'criminal' category when looked at by their state.

Shit.. *ends up on more watch lists just for making music connections*

Uhh...

"Oleg admitted towards the end of our chat that 'I don’t get cut off too often in traffic. In many people’s minds—people who know and remember the ‘90s—the Grand Cherokee is implicitly off-limits for them. It is a car that you best not mess with.'”

What happnes when people that like cars.. (which there are A LOT of russian folks that dig american makes) find your parked car, and think they're on The Intercept because they're blitzed bust your window out and take it for fun. :|

Hidden fuel pump kill switch, and have injector pulse cut off via the ECM. Being that mine is a '98, not hard to do with an SCT flash tool since it's OBDII.

Make sure you get all that done before you go. Still a bad idea... logic wise to drive one thinking it's going to be left alone there just because. Wish I still had some russian translators around or I might go on.

They're actually hard to steal even in stock form, if you have keyless entry. Trust me. If the alarm is going off, it WILL NOT start no matter what you do. You need to lock and unlock the door with the key in some oddball fashion along with locking and unlocking with the fob and then it'll start.

So logically, I'd be fine with it the way it is.

Also, I have friends in Russia....

You installed a keyless entry system in THAT grand cherokee? pics?

Also ECMs arent that hard to bypass with shit a real criminal might have. Grand theft auto isn't really my thing. xD

but that russian game show was pretty much controlled grand theft auto, and featured cars meant to be theft proof A LOT.

Mercedes-Benz influenced anti-theft made by Chrysler is a bitch to get around.

Just because I am a Jeep guy does not mean I only involve myself with Wranglers. ZJ's, XJ's, and WJ's are my forte. All three of them have Chrysler's bullshit.

Wow 1996 Cherokee's did have keyless entry, but it wasn't stock.. I've been in Cherokees that didn't have it the same year..

You should check that show out if you think it'd stop some of the people on it though..

All years of the ZJ... 1993-1998 came with a keyless entry option. 1993-1995 worked differently than 1996-1998. If you got power locks and windows, you got keyless entry. Higher-end models had anti-theft.

Mine is a 1998 Laredo with every option you could get, except (thankfully) the 5.2 V8 and digital climate control.

More like it's mistaken for a rival's vehicle and gets a RPG up the tailpipe.

Well, it's not green and would not have Russian registration on it, so I should be good there.

Plus they don't use them anymore. They use newer Grand Cherokees.

Well, just know that you'd be driving from Russian held East Ukraine to Western Ukraine - it might not be so simple.  And there's always the chance that the current situation there could devolve into a massive crapfest.
