The1gairon
Pop Team Epic is ending in around 7 weeks (6 episodes left, with one week off for Labor Day weekend), and I suspect they'll keep up their intention of branching out into other genres, or maybe get more comedy anime. For the time being they have an original anime comedy coming up, FLCL: Alternative, which could fill out that area for the next several weeks after that. So when that ends, what other non-original anime comedies do you see them picking up? PTE is such a departure from what Toonami has aired so it's hard to say what could air by this point! mochi
well since we're no longer bound just to Shonen I'm hoping PTE's replacement is either a shojo series or something like Yuri on ice also now that Turner owns Crunchyroll that opens up the lineup to literally any of the shows on CR that have available dubs or simuldubs
The1gairon
I would of course love to see Yuri On Ice there but it won't get high ratings since people are able to watch it on other places for like 2 years now, and its short length makes it easy to binge in one afternoon. Going by the PTE type of humor, I would love to see Nichijou on the block!

QueenoftheDorks
Level E would be an obvious choice imo. Personally I'd love to see something like Lucky Star or even School Rumble. Or for something even older: Cromartie High School or Magical Shopping Arcade Abenobashi. Despite both airing on TechTV/G4's anime block, they're kind of obscure now and I think despite being a bit older, they could still hold an audience. Not sure if either of those are still licensed though.
Blatch
My bet is on Mr. Osomatsu, which may or may not have to do with why Viz hasn't announced fucking anything about their license in the past year. 1
Daos
Konosuba would be the obvious choice.... if they'd bothered dubbing it. Maybe we'll go full harem, now that would be something. If they aired PTE that means literally anything is on the table, so it's anyone's guess.

Lucky Star would be one of those gag stunts Toonami would air just to fuck with us, although we know they aren't above airing Pop Team Epic without irony. I realize this is hard to answer since anime like PTE aren't usually dubbed, for obvious reasons.

It's from Yoshihiro Togashi who also created Yuu Yuu Hakushou and Hunter x Hunter.
Daos
I'd toss Good luck girl and Amagi Brilliant Park into the ring for contenders.

Daos
That would be great, but I have a feeling since Chiller did it they'd shy away from that. Also I've watched it way too many times =P No Game No life would probably be my top choice for a comedy since it's the most popular one I can think of and it's very attractive to the eyes. I WATCHED BOTH OF THOSE AND BOTH ARE FUCKIN UNDERRATED AF. The first one's humor is a ton raunchier. It's basically supernatural action anime but starring two bitches fighting with one another. Daos
Eh they're both about the same I think, both rated PG 13. For some reason anime comedy never really breaks out and becomes like.. the next AOT or Inuyasha. Not sure why... maybe too quirky and reference dependent?
Top Gun
Comedy is something that can be especially culturally-dependent. A lot of Japanese comedy centers around the manzai routine, which honestly comes across as pretty painful to most Western audiences.
OwlChemist81
I don't think it's happening anytime soon. I think we'll most likely see a 3:30 AM PTE rerun before we get a new comedy show sometime in '19. PTE will be replaced (in its current timeslot) by Boruto. This is assuming Cowboy Bebop leaves, right? I have a feeling they'll actually do a third run of that in a row, and maybe even keep rerunning it indefinitely until they lose the rights. If there's one show that'll always be an [as] evergreen, it's that one. If anything, an 8:30 weekday rerun of PPTP is just as likely, if not more. Well even if they don't, it's just another 12 weeks and they can put it back on! And maybe not even that long. They can always move it to 2:30 AM once OPM finishes and put Bebop back on at 3!
