Creation or consumption, there's an undeniable link....it just sounds so fucking amazing...

Is there a book or documentary I can check out that at least tries to decipher this link?

Artists of all sorts have been prolific drug and alcohol abusers.  All the way back in history.  There seems to be a link between personality types too, adventurous people use substances more.

I can tell you heroin and music go good together.

I used to snort 2 bags of dope and play the guitar. Mind you I wasn't good at the guitar, but it felt good holding that thing on the back porch in the summer.

I miss smoking weed and listening to Pink Floyd. What a basic bitch I am.

The first time I smoked there was Pink Floyd playing in the background and since then I don't listen to them without it....

It's transformative

You should make your own documentary.

If by documentary you mean a two hour long unedited film of me doing drugs, listening to music, and constantly claiming that Neil Peart is the best drummer alive, all while wearing a cheetah suit....then yes I will make one....

Neil Peart is the best drummer ever.

In the wise words of Monoxide Child, When you stumble, when you try, and you just can't get things right.
Turn the music up and let's get fucked up is the soundtrack to my life.

This is a very dangerous mix to tempt fate with a few years down the road you could end up wondering why you have a venetian snares album on an external hard drive depending on which drugs it is
