Peas are the grapes of the vegetable world.

Grapes are great, peas are the devil's dingleberries.

The individual peas themselves are small concentration over vegetative matter, surrounded by a thin skin of plant material. A grape is the same goddamn thing.

But dried peas in cookies would be really unpleasant.

I disagree. I'm willing to bet you could make a great goddamn cookie. Imagine this- dehydrated peas in a cookie seasoned with cumin, cinnamon,  maybe a dash of paprika? I'm willing to bet that would be a savory-sweet treat right there.

Wait, wait, wait . . . wine was supposed to be Jesus's blood. Wine is made out of grapes. Linda Blair used pea soup as vomit in The Exorcist.

Illuminati confirmed.

Yep, that's pretty accurate.

If grapes grew in a pod, that would be fucking weird.

Except if they did, we'd be used to it, so it wouldn't actually be weird.

Grapes do grow in pods. They've lied to you.

Why are grapes not the grapes of the vegetable world?

I had a  thread several weeks back  in which  I asked that very question: why are fruits not vegetables. Unfortunately the conversation was not fruitful.

Semi-rhetorical, you can answer if you like, but more to the point, you're the one making a claim; the burden of proof lies on you.

Yeah, I didn't bother posting my reasoning at first, but this is it: "The individual peas themselves are small concentration over vegetative matter, surrounded by a thin skin of plant material. A grape is the same goddamn thing."

Dried wasabi peas are really good, though.

I have a mixed relationship with wasabi peas. I enjoy wasabi and sriracha peas as snacks, but when they don’t have enough coating on them, it can be like eating an easier to chew popcorn kernel.

I would definitely take wasabi peas over raisins though.
