1938 Packard Posted September 10, 2017 Posted September 10, 2017 Who still uses one? The condensate underneath ruins the floor. I think it was just a 1970's thing, like giant lapels or bell bottoms.

Lots of people and they have changed many times since the 70s. Just because you're a shutin that doesn't get to see shit doesn't mean those things don't exist. and FYI, bellbottoms came back like a decade ago, also in an evolved form.

Being a shut in comes much, much later in life. Meanwhile, I still enjoy plane travel.

So you're out in the world, but just too dumb to see the waterbeds, fountains, and smell the cigarette smoke......Cool, I got it.

I can show you a picture of a drinking fountain where I work. It's in the back of the house for employees and hasn't been used in decades since the Aquafina vending machine was put in nearby. People want water, not hepatitis.

Again, you're completely missing the point because your thread was not about how filthy they were, even though you mentioned that.....I was about how they aren't around, when indeed they are. Along with waterbeds.
fuggnificent Posted September 10, 2017 Posted September 10, 2017 heres an article with old ads http://mentalfloss.com/article/71404/what-ever-happened-waterbeds waterbeds were cheap!
CAC Posted September 10, 2017 Posted September 10, 2017 Yeah I had one off and on growing up, loved them.
Sandstone Posted September 10, 2017 Posted September 10, 2017 Do you just try to get put in a retirement home or something?
naraku360 Posted September 10, 2017 Posted September 10, 2017 I knew a guy in high school who had one. He was super edgy. Not a great thing to be when owning a waterbed.
André Toulon Posted September 10, 2017 Posted September 10, 2017 They can be designed better These apparently don't have the wave motion like the older ones. I've never tried one but I saw a similar one advertised at the store I bought the kid's bunkbeds at a few years ago. https://www.waterbedoutlet.com/strata-g700-waterbed-mattress-bundle-p/bundle-1g7.htm?1=1&CartID=0

When your water bottle is empty, do you toss it and buy a new one? If so, lol.
