studios and content creators are going after the content providers and isp's. i mean, it's not likely you'll get arrested for streaming through kodi, but the libraries are getting shut down and your isp might send you a threatening letter. i've received several over the years from torrenting, but never actually had any negative consequences beyond the threat of getting my service disconnected. but in this day and age, everything is tracked, and i wouldn't be terribly surprised to see some new regulation come down that makes streaming (or pirating in general) a more harshly-prosecutable offense.

probably over-reacting, but when it's reeeeally easy to avoid these problems and still get what you want, why risk it?

The only thing I have to add is that in the commercial for the  Amazon Firestick commercial, Gary Busey says "Yeah!" in a fun way that gives my girlfriend the creeps whenever I emulate it.

Do....do u know what a firestick is? Phillies doesn't know.

That's what we call wooden matches sometimes, but beyond that, no.

I doubt anything will happen to her, but this is probably one of the worst ways to go about it.

Probably not. It just seems like it used to be that there were relatively few people who knew how to torrent, and with things like fire TV stick and Android TV boxes, piracy is really common with people who might don't know the first thing about protecting themselves. If/when the law decides to crack down on it, they're gonna have more easily-identified offenders than they can handle.

My brother got a few letters and then nothing happened.
