1938 Packard
that's a weird way to ask for sex.... If that's what you think it is, you didn't spend enough time listening to 70's top 40. Original lyrics: Give me the beat, boys and free my soul, I wanna get lost in the rock and roll and drift away.
mthor
Actually, Uncle Kracker covered it in 2002, and it did almost as well as Dobie Gray's version. So for this, you don't need 70's top 40.

mthor
Why do you know that? Because the kids bitched about it every morning and every afternoon when I took them to school and picked them up ; it was always on the radio. They hated "Follow Me," too - I don't know what they have against Uncle Kracker. (TBH, I did have to google its position on the charts.)

(TBH, I did have to google its position on the charts.) but Dobie Gray WAS on the Uncle Kracker cover, so does it count?
