Do tell, do tell, while I lurk some more.

Yeah, whew! This staying on topic thing is very difficult for a former asmb basement dweller. Feel a lil like I'm being reformed but I have courage!
-
Oh believe me, this is not you, this is a l l l l l l l l me, lol.

Or a staff! Staffs can be very stabby stabby through cracks in armor and openings around shields. Just depends on how close in combat you want to get. I picked archery because I was tiny and didn't relish the idea of getting trampled to death nor did I have the strength to push barricades or block advances.

We'll never know I guess...and that doesn't bother me at all...not at all...nope... ...damn it.

It would depend on the the organization's rules and regs. If it's rec fighting then you usually sign a waver before you're allowed to participate, so climbing trees might be acceptable as long as you're within bounds. But I could easily see becoming more of a target up in a tree as there's no way to move about, and if you get shot in the leg or even foot I could see the reeve calling you out or suggesting you play a handicap from the ground. But an interesting thought.

If it weren't for people like you we'd be rampant with misinformation! Also, when I think about it...if it really was written by Mark Twain wouldn't it have been more of a southern accent?
-
Ha, right, ideally being the chief word there because it really depends on the terrain and what's at your disposal. I once used a "dead" body to shield myself from another archer but in general you don't want to get in the habit of doing that because you kinda want the heavies in front of you to stay alive. In that respect it's hard to aim while having to constantly move hoping the other archer targeting you has a poor shot. But archers are definitely a threat if nobody else is carrying projectiles.

I think this is on topic as there are certainly people with staffs here. Pretty sure they're rattan. I'm one of the ones in red off to the right, but I was not using a staff, my boffer weapons were arrows.

Oh, btw, someone on the boards is pretty convinced I'm you. And I'm not being meme-y. Although this reminds me of what I said the other day. This is the character I referenced:

Still I agree with him 😄
-
Probably. I really like the chocolate covered kind, but they're kind of expensive to have around all the time.
-
Yeah. This wouldn't have been in something like "Complete Works of," as it was a random entry in a journal magazine at the time.
-
Or forget what you read. "Read" is a funny word - a verb, a noun, past and present tense.
-
You're seriously addicted to those, aren't you...

Interesting to know about yourself! That is a lot. Get sick once and your entire lifestyle has changed. I'm constantly reminded how lucky I was, assuming there's nothing unseen wrong. My two cousins have similar complication from getting it, both the liver. WE ALWAYS CRAVE THE THINGS WE CAN'T HAVE!!! 😫

it's...just the word cane but formated in accordance to the 20th year outlined in the journal entry above. My apologies.
-
Hah, thankfully this was one of his satirical pieces.

::shakes her cane at you:: Or...::kane::

Think of how I felt typing that out. I came across it in a magazine with the inability to copy/paste it.

from a letter written to The Economist mid 1800's. (with a mid-atlantic i.e. british-american accent). "In Year 1 that useless letter c would be dropped to be replased either by k or s, and likewise x would no longer be part of the alphabet. The only kase in which c would be retained would be the ch formation, which will be dealt with later. Year 2 might reform w spelling, so that which and one would take the same konsonant, wile Year 3 might well abolish y, replasing it with i, and Iear 4 might fiks the g/j anomali wonse and for all. Jenerally, then, the improvement would kontinue iear bai iear with Iear 5 doing awai with useless double konsonants, and Iears 6 to 12 or so modifaiing vowlz and the rimeining voist and unvoist konsonants.
