  1. OP in Japanese now eh?
  2. Toonami will continue to get fucked by Netflix (but even harder.)
  3. Luffy is Brazilian. Though that's not very specific given how diverse that country is.
  4. Pretty obviously a fake photoshop joke, especially with Eminem as Eneru, given that we know he was based on him. Like seriously, Al?
  5. Nevermind the tags. Have you seen the show? All the girls are into the Tatsumi, and even the gay guy. Even EsDeath, a villain, is into him. Was also a pretty bad show, but a fucking masterpiece compared to Tokyo Ghoul. Well I do admit that watching something trashy or schlocky could have it's own entertainment value. That kind of show can be fun. Nothing you'd take too seriously, of course. Sort of like Hellsing. Really if they aired Kill la Kill they should be able to get away with quite a lot. Of course High School of the Dead itself is pretty old by now. Haven't seen DxD, but it could work. Yeah they don't have much to lose haha.
  6. People don't give a shit about Gundam.
  7. Most of those shows are crap though and I have little interest in them. Personally I don't even see the point of ecchi when full-on hentai exists. I mean if that's what we have to resort to to keep the block alive I'm not sure it's worth it. But yes Toonami is an action block. Besides just the theming, I believe Demarco has said this is what gets the best ratings. But yeah the past few years they've been dropping the ball big time by not getting any of the big shows. On Twitter Demarco asked what genres of shows people would like besides action, with the qualifying statement that Toonami wasn't doing it, but just out of curiosity. So maybe the guy in that video saw that and ran with it. Maybe they are getting desperate and thinking of experimenting, who knows.
  8. THANK YOU. I've been saying forever that SAO isn't a harem. Though, personally, I'm not really a fan of the genre. And to be fair, Toonami did air Tenchi Muyo GXP and Akame Ga Kill. I think they'd air a harem show if it had enough action and someone else didn't swipe it from under Demarco's nose. There are hot girls but I'm not sure how much fan service there is, not these days anyway. In a Q&A Demarco said there wasn't room on the block or the right deals to be able to get Fairy Tail. So I don't think fan service had anything to do with it. Besides, it seems pretty tame to me so far.
  9. He's admitted to just making the series up as he went along and not really keeping up with things. But now, with straight up changing Goku's personality and claiming it was always this way, he's either senile or full of shit. Since the end of Dragon Ball was implying Tien x Launch I like to headcanon her as being at his house, lol.
  10. There's still no explanation for why Goku went from straight up killing fools as a child, to a merciful adult. As for Goku in Super I'm going to chalk it up the continued degradation of Goku's brain due to the head injury he suffered as a child.
  11. Came across this - Bulma's hair color has actually changed through the years, even in just the anime. Never noticed before. It's always been turquoise but it's more on the green end, though occasionally on the blue end. Didn't notice that it went more blue again for Super. Still, none of this is as big of a change for Trunks from purple to straight up blue! Trunks hair was ICONIC!
  12. Also plays into the fat jokes and how Yajirobe is constantly eating. But yeah, haha.
  13. Oh. Well, we'll see how it turns out I guess!
  14. Yeah I was thinking Lion-O was the sheltered prince, but the others seemed to be trained fighters, even the two kids. Better than He-Man's voice acting... >_> Oh, I didn't realize that. Thought it was at the beginning. And yeah, for sure! I didn't realize it only went on for two years. Must have been rerun for sure, because it seemed like it was on for a long time, and there was a shit-load of toys. Thought She-Ra was a spin-off. Just got finished watching it. Oh man, oof. Where do I begin? That article wasn't kidding about it being cheap. These production values are terrible! The near constant "HE-MAN!" transitions. Enough, lol! Can't think of any other show that spammed the transition thing to this degree, haha. Did not remember He-Man always having that echo to his voice... That article mentioned the show creating characters nearly every week to make a new toy. This Kor guy is a prime example of that LOL. Also he's clearly voiced by Skeletor's voice actor, haha. Yeah for what should have been an action-packed series, there definitely isn't much of it, and it's poorly animated and awkward. Just like the article described, lol. Yup definitely not great and way worse than ThunderCats.
  15. Oh, you've seen it before?
  16. He's biting his butt, not "eating out his ass." Remember, Yajirobe has straight up eaten people before, LOL.
  17. My cousin's boyfriend got a Rick & Morty t-shirt for Christmas. He remarked how he doesn't even know what TV channel it comes on and just watches it on Hulu and Youtube. Demarco, get mad!
  18. I thought this EVIL GOKU arc was supposed to be good. I mean, the show hasn't been bad since we got out of the movie adaptation arcs, and I love the slice-of-life filler eps, lol.
  19. The Daphne Arc actually wasn't bad, but it was short. Though it was silly that something as big as GRAY'S BETRAYAL happened in filler, even if it wasn't a real betrayal. Also, Gray's plan kind of didn't make sense, lol. Yeah, it's never fun when things drag, canon or filler.
  20. It was still weird. I mean I guess he could have just been a kid, but probably would've been too weak to fight the bad guys. Wilykat and Wilykit seemed more experienced, but I think there was probably a reason for that. Weren't the ThunderCats all the royal guard or something? I think the new series struck a good balance with Lion-O just being a teenager/young man who was still coming up in the world. G.I. Joe? I thought that was dumb even when I was a kid, because it was a war where no one died. Loved the toys, though! I've gone back and watched some of the old 80s shows. Some hold up better than others. I still like M.A.S.K. as an adult, but maybe others wouldn't. It was my favorite cartoon from back then, after all. Scott and T-Bob are still annoying as fuck though. Transformers didn't live up to my foggy childhood memories, but it's not too bad. It's about a bunch of robots bashing each other. What do you want? Plus there's some really good standout episodes. The Real Ghostbusters still holds up pretty well I think. Surprisingly creative and not repetitive for how many episodes there are and what the concept is. What about TMNT? I've gone back and watched a few eps and still enjoyed it. And outside of Transformers it's one of the few cartoons from back then that's been brought back for various iterations and lasted. Umm, weren't all of those cartoons made to sell toys? He-man, oh god. I used to love He-man, but I'm pretty sure if I watch it now it will be terrible. I'm sure the new series that CN had is better. I always wanted the toys but never had any. I was told later that my mother wouldn't get them for me because they were too satanic and too homoerotic. We're not even that religious so I'm pretty sure that's just an excuse because she didn't want to buy me the toys. Apparently I wanted the Snake Mountain playset. LOL, that article. I knew a lot of that, but not all of it. Can't believe that the executive producer voiced all those characters. He had to have some experience to do many different voices, though? Yeah, that's part of that 5-parter that opens the series I talked about, where the other Cats test Lion-O. It was pretty good. You know, ThunderCats was called a poor man's He-man, but I'm pretty sure He-man is worse. I should go watch some episodes, haha.
  21. Well, I considered skipping the filler, but I'm a bit of a completionist. If nothing else, I'll only have to watch them once, haha. I did hear the filler arcs were terrible, but I figure mileage can vary. And nothing can be worse than Bleach's Bount Arc, right? I actually blocked most of that from memory! What the fuck?
  22. Is that what the upcoming filler arc is called?
  23. So Mashima's hands might not be clean, then. D: I'll have to look up that OVA on the wikia after I watch it to see, what, if any manga chapters it's based on.
  24. I think I see what you mean. It's kind of "off-brand" for lack of a better term, haha. But not in a bad way, yeah. And it's nice to have alternatives. I'm sure there's others but it might take some digging. Also implied gay or headcanon gay doesn't always mean confirmed gay. For example, Ikkaku and Yumichika could easily be a couple, but it's never stated that their relationship goes beyond close friends/brotherly thing. I don't think it was ever even confirmed that Yoruichi is bi and Soifon lesbian, but it seems very likely to me. At the same time, it could have always just been meant to be a close mentor/motherly/sisterly relationship, and Soifon was jealous of Urahara like a kid is jealous when their mom dates a guy. It could go either way. That's one of the Edolas characters isn't it?
  25. Yeah there's a lot to love about this show. I mean it's nice to have around as a counterbalance to all the edgelord shit that's out there. The OST is great but there needs to be more songs, heh. Still, the ones it has are so catchy! There was a lot of that in the Tennrou Island Arc I just watched. Ultear's story and the girl she raised. And Cana, man... T__T
