  1. The places I was in as a kid could keep you until 21 and then you’re on your own.
  2. Some of this child labor deregulation even calls to exclude them from workers’ compensation or exclude liability of the company if the child dies I recently learned that most of our child labor laws didn’t apply to agriculture. A farmer could literally hire an entire family of migrants to work a field. Don’t even have to let them go to school.
  3. I’m watching Fired on Mars which is going in a completely different direction than I thought. It still reminds me of Sealab 2021but it’s not as funny. Like in Sealab 2021 the people on Sealab all went a little mad from being under the sea I think it’s worth the watch. It has some crazy storylines and some really nice animated sequences.
  4. The government knows this is happening and that’s probably another reason they are removing reproductive rights. Too bad the government cares more about corporations than they do for the constituency. The US allows so much poisonous shit in our food and other products that other countries out right ban. It’s scary and also the reason we will never have universal healthcare
  5. 😆 yeah I was thinking that sounded similar to the transformers “iron hauler” starring Pedro Pascal
  6. The Adam Sandler movie is just awful. One exec can’t even make a deal with an entire union of people. But that’s not even the dumbest part. In this here political environment no one would like Sandler character because everything he’s doing is to serve himself to stop his life from falling apart. Lol AI is just not great. Chef kiss on the Jennifer Aniston co lead though.
  7. This immediately doesn’t work because you can’t be a successful real estate agent in NYC and be struggling. If Sarah gets 1% of a million dollars sale she’s good. Like no one could sympathize or empathize with this character. Why? Cuz she would def be living way out of her means if she was struggling to live. Even in NYC
  8. I can just move this to TD. most abductions end up being some sort of custody dispute. The sex trade can’t be discounted regardless of age and gender. Abductions for labor, if that’s happening, won’t have to happen anymore if people are forced to birth babies that they’re gonna give up immediately. Back in the day all over the world, unwed teenage moms were tricked or forced to sign over their parental rights. States go back to that and in no time corporations will grab up children and those future facilities I’m talking about will definitely happen.
  9. I don’t get that many amber alerts but with how shit is I def can’t rule out children being kidnapped for exploitative labor. Remember pizza gate? The crazy conspiracy that in a DC pizza parlor they were operating a huge pedo ring for the elite. If we operate under the theory “every accusation from the right is a confession” then yeah. Totally believable
  10. I know Sponges mentioned the rise of child labor and deregulation before but it’s really getting crazy. A McDonald’s in KY had workers as young as ten operating deep fryers and they pay below min or not at all https://www.cnbc.com/amp/2023/05/03/mcdonalds-franchisees-fined-over-child-labor-law-violations.html Mickey D’s was fined a laughable amount. Like a wink amount. Our government basically did the bare minimum, therefore giving this hell corp the ok to keep doin it https://www.npr.org/2023/03/10/1162531885/arkansas-child-labor-law-under-16-years-old-sarah-huckabee-sanders why not give these jobs to adult migrants instead of children? https://www.epi.org/publication/economics-of-abortion-bans/ People are being forced to give birth to supply a future labor force. In the not so distant future Juvenile detention centers, group homes and residential treatment centers will be run and operated by corporations that will put children to work and probably offer less than 100 hours of education a year. This will lock in entire uneducated voting blocks of people that will vote the way they’re told to. These people play the long game. They don’t care if it will take 50 years to get their way. As long as it happens they’re good. We’re going back to the Oliver Twist times, but instead of gruel, Oliver will be asking for another burger or some more fries. Definitely not a coincidence that reproductive rights and child labor laws are being dismantled at the same time. It’s gross and D states are doin it too. (Looking at you NJ) At least in NJ you can get an abortion so it’s not a complete devolution of decency and morality like in Arkansas, Iowa and Kentucky
  11. I like how tsar was basically like
  12. Let the tatorphone go. Join us here in the 21st century 😛
  13. At least you won’t be bored unless you have an ancient phone with no streaming apps
  14. How’d you get here? Mobile data?
  15. Fuckin scumbags. Paying writers to rework the scripts written by the exact thing that will have them out of a job in 10 years or less. and yeah those shows weren’t great but the titles and log lines are pretty good. Execs would probably jump all over this drivel especially “Brew-Ha ha” Netflix is definitely stealing your Kamen Rider results
  16. NC legislator just switched from dem to rep party giving them veto power over their democrat governor. Not only did she switch parties but now she’s all for considering a 12 week abortion ban bill. we do not live in a democracy folks. Even Republican voters support reproductive rights but that matters not. A loophole will be found to circumvent the will of the people and in this case the people did not vote for this. They elected someone they thought was a democrat. Someone that would protect their rights not someone willing to steamroll their elected governor just cuz they’re a democrat
  17. Any artistic creator not backing this strike is either a dick hole or Kevin Sorbo
  18. This was infuriating. Wtf “we promise to let you know how close we are to replacing you”. Wow gee thanks
  19. SNL cut their season short because of the strike. I think Last Week Tonight w John Oliver is also shut down writers were never treated well and that shit starts early. I was in college for dramatic writing. Play and screen writing. The drama directing and cinema studies students were such assholes to us. I say this because it’s one of the reasons I’m not surprised about how the WGA is treated. It’s practically culture. Writers breathe life into the ideas of others sometimes but that’s no less important than the writer creating their own works. They’re not treated well either. Once the screenplay is sold, unless you’re a Stephen Spielberg, you have no say after. writers are probably not gonna get a “no AI” in any contract. Part of the reason the studios come back with no counter or a low counter is because soon they won’t need the writer. Sure actors say “I won’t act in AI written drivel” now but eventually someone will be a first and as AI improves the actor will be made offers they can’t refuse. For now AI might not be good enough to replace the writer but eventually it will be. In the not so distant future AI will replace teams of writers and all that will exist is the one human writer needed to make sure the AI didn’t go crazy somewhere. eventually the media will announce that “critically acclaimed” movie or novel written by AI cuz some corporate overlord will tell them to. It’s like what someone already said, we the individual have to not watch or read any AI medium
  20. He’s so desperate to get big media companies to start posting again that he’s now resorting to threats that make him look ridiculous
  21. I’m waiting for an invite. I’m pretty sure I gave them an email a few months ago. I never had a Twitter account. This should be fun if I can get a code.
  22. Everything has to get by standards and practices even AI, but eventually standards and practices will be replaced by AI too
  23. AI is a fuckin disaster for writers because AI can copy the style of any writer and these executives are definitely gonna dabble in it. Chat gpt wrote part of an episode of South Park so yeah 😬
